  1. in my opinion- i would suggest u eliminate dairy now- for a good 6 months- this will help you heal faster. after that- its really entirely up to YOUR body & experience. we're all different. some on here are completely fine with corn & various grains. i have found it is best for me to avoid corn and also to eat a very low grain diet. i seem to...
  2. i completely understand... i went back to eating gluten even after i had my blood test- because the addiction is that strong- and since neither me or my doctors understood my "inconclusive" test results enough to know there was a big problem- it didnt seem to be enough to keep me off of it. i continued to only look at it as a "diet" thing with some uncomfortable...
  3. yes i agree with mushroom- that's why many of us have done B12 shots or sublinguals.. Because the stomach would probably not absorb it well enough.
  4. sounds like you're describing Dermatitis Herpetiformis.... and ive heard from others on here- that as you're healing and you start absorbing more nutrients- your body is "awakened" and gets super hungry- wanting even more nutrients
  5. my forearms have been having horrible allergic type reactions since ive been on Synthroid. but i dont have an iodine allergy- altho, i had DH on my stomach, and what i thought were DH bumps on my forearm. but this time- my forearms are not itchy at all.... but they're horribly bumpy & so RED it looks like ive got chemical burns..... and they burn too...
  6. oh its so nice to not feel alone here!!! im very sensitive to pants and the way they fit my abdomen... i prefer everything super ULTRA LOW... and all of my tights and pantyhose have the elastic waiste bands cut out of them. sometimes my intestines hurt just watching someone else wear pants that cut in to their stomachs
  7. id love to find out exactly what this pain is too!! but i really think mine is muscular-i get it on the right side too... i am constantly bent over with bad posture at my crappy job (im an LMT)- and my iliopsoas muscles go in to spasms alot- and my diaphraghm and abs will spasm too. but on top of that, i went to an Osteopath who said that he believes...
  8. what's RSV??? and i know Docs say Tylenol is safe... but i would try not to take anything. i hope u feel better!!!!
  9. ok, this time i actually read the article. and it didnt discount breastfeeding. i apologize for my earlier post. im not sure i follow the thinking tho- of when to introduce gluten to a child... its interesting- but im always skeptical. my neice was breastfed for a year and first started on solid foods at 4 months... first fruits & veggies,...
  10. been awhile since i followed this thread- but Jenny- your last TSH reading was 4.4??? that's still too high even tho its within "range". also Jason- i need to remember to PM u- on the thyroid meds update- getting better, but still tweaking it- feeling better since they added Cytomel (T3) to the mix.
  11. Dairy, Legumes, excess Corn products, and High Fructose foods give me pretty bad gas. sometimes painful, and sometimes "D". eating a pear can throw me into pain comparable to labor.
  12. suggesting that mothers shouldnt breastfeed for the 1st six months is the most ludacris thing ive ever heard. reminds me of an article i read recently where this drug company was suggesting that mothers shouldnt breastfeed- because it negates the Rotavirus vaccine. i dont trust our Corporate medical system at all.
  13. you mentioned adrenal fatigue- that usually goes hand in hand with thyroid issues- have you been tested??? because all tho my anxiety/depression/& neurological issues improved after going gluten free-> i still had quite a bit anxiety & fatigue & depression- now that i am diagnosed with Hashimoto's and on Synthroid & Cytomel- my Anxiety...
  14. im confused too why she didnt test you for Celiac... strange. your high ANA could mean any number of Autoimmune Diseases, so im wondering why she only tested for RA, nothing else, and assumed Gluten Intolerance. and i think you meant to say conversion of T4 to T3. so, are you on meds for a hypothyroid??? you could very well have Celiac or...
  15. because of your symptoms & positive antigliadin- you're OBVIOUSLY gluten intolerant. i would follow Skylark's advice- to get a more complete definitive picture. imho, all your symptoms SEEM like "classic" Celiac/Gluten Intolerance, with Hypothyroid, and Vitamin B12 deficiency. (just my summation) good luck
  16. i find it kind of annoying & vague- that they just list your antigliadin result as <20... instead of the actual number? and i dont know what all of your tests are for like TIBC ? anyways... i had Colitis in the 90s... the bloating lasted for about a week-> the doctors put me on some medicine and told me to stay away from fatty & greasy...
  17. u could do Bob's Red Mill CERTIFIED gluten free rolled oats, or oat flour, Udi's has a gluten free Oat granola, and right now im eating gluten free flavored oatmeal (forgot the brand) with no ill effects. wow- looking at your family- all these genes are SO related!!!! i really wish our medical system was up to date on Gluten Intolerance- it's so frustrating...
  18. is getting a little lazy these days, and instead of replying to posts- am just adding points to posts i like ;)

  19. im so sorry- and i feel your pain. to answer your question about giving up- i probably would have if the doc had actually put me on a proper gluten challenge. when i did mine- my GI put me on a 2 week/4 slices a day challenge (which i am assuming now is not adequated enough). my gut cramping & bloating was ruff- but manageable. my ANXIETY however was...
  20. the best results ive had so far is to do the Toll House Recipe- with 1/2 Bob's Gluten Free Oat Flour & 1/2 Gluten Free Soy Flour, plus add 1 tablespoon of Maple Syrup to your mix. they taste pretty good- but anything soy gives me gas so next time i'll try them with only oat. Also- never use the Splenda Brown Sugar Baking Blend- ive used it twice...
  21. you're NOT a "medical mystery". according to a study out of Columbia University (even tho i do not agree with everything Dr. Green says): only 1 in 6 Celiacs have any gut symptoms. now- since you dont- i imagine it must be hard to judge how you're healing- if i were you i would in addition to no gluten, i would limit or avoid dairy for a good 6 months...

    ARCHIVED Glutenology

everybody has really strong opinions about this website... and although i dont agree with all of it completely- i do find some helpful thoughts from it, and i also really love Doctor J's writings (he's the veterinarian with Celiac, he coined the G.A.R.D. diet & talks about secondary glutening) altho people really get upset, and altho grains may not...

    ARCHIVED New Problem

if it's an acid reflux that's nonstop and you're not getting relief like before- it could very well be an ulcer. If it's convenient for you- you should think about seeing your doctor to see if you've got H.Pylori... And in the future- all of us with reoccuring reflux should get endos to check our esophagus. I have crappy insurance and hate going on antibiotics...
  24. what exactly was your TSH number- because it may have been within range- but high enough to indicate Hypothyroid- im asking- because constipation and difficulty swallowing can both be typical for Hypothyroid.. in the past i had issues with getting dizzy when i stood up... A LOT... it seems to have improved since going gluten free
