  7. CMw - 'Imagination is more important than knowledge'. This is my youngest - brilliantly talented writer and artist - a born storyteller...he often doubted his intellligence because of his discalculia - finally got him to understand everyone has strengths and weakness - he'll be a great author one day - until then he will be found teaching middleschoolers...

  11. Oh AnnJay...that first year is so tough and you have additional foods in question. Peace will come - it just takes time...I know, a year seems like forever...but the grieving involved with multiple food removal is TOUGH. Let it happen. Acknowledge that it SUCKS. Find great - safe - replacements and then all will fall into place. Until then.....
  12. Heeelllllloooooo....Downton Fans... I am not disappointed -- MaMa is brilliant once again. "It seems a pity to waste a good pudding."

  16. I'm a bit late to this game.... but here is what I think.... I was barely positive at 43 - so sick that I could no longer function. In hindsight == ALL of my health concerns over those four decades can be connected to the malabsorption connected with celiac disease. Had some doctor had the brilliant idea to run celiac antibody tests on me in my 2...
  17. I slept walked my entire childhood -- or so I'm told. Son, Daughter and Grandson all have horrible - wake up screaming terrors (thankfully they don't remember it the next day). Scary stuff.
  18. Glad you'll be seeing a specialist. I'm still curious..... What symptoms have improved? What symptoms have remained or changed?
  19. Like button wasn't enough -- triple, no quintuple like!!!
  20. Fat is very difficult to digest. As with all digestive system workings -- it is harder for some rather than others -- also type of fat can be a factor. Was the frozen yogurt from a shop or a container at home that you know to be gluten-free? Perhaps dairy? Perhaps other things -- sorry I'm a bit fuzzy headed with a major headache tonight. If others...
  21. Not sure...but she has made a very good friend on another boat that is Celiac with both of the requested items
  22. That is interesting. Since both IgA tests went down substantially -- it is puzzling. Did they run a tTG IgG? Any change there? Since it is a surpising number - I think I'd have it re-run to make sure it was an accurate result. Looks like you are doing well on removing gluten, otherwise the other numbers would not have fallen so. How about symptom...
  23. CMP is a simple blood test -- usually one of the first docs run for any health concern. If you have not had a recent CBC, CMP or nutrient testing -- I highly recommend doing so ASAP. These will give a good snapshot of where you stand with regard to absorbing nutrients -- celiac disease prevents proper absorbtion.
  24. Congratulations on passing the sitz marker exam I failed miserably -- trust me -- you don't want to get to the stage that nearly all markers were present and accounted for at day five -- xray tech did a double take, asked me if I had waited the full five days and said she never saw that many markers remain. In my case, the severe bloat was not...
