  2. Just wanted to add a thought... she is school age - is it possible she is accidentally ingesting gluten at school, in friend's homes or other outside your home activities? Has she had a recent celiac antibody panel - if so, please make sure they have included Deamidated Gliadin Peptide - both IgA and IgG. My grandson (age 5 - gluten-free for 4 years...

  10. There is no one test that tells you a level of gluten you are eating. The deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) is thought to be the quickest to react to gluten ingestion or removal, but does not indicate that a certain amount of gluten has been consumed. It would be an awesome test to have access to.
  11. I am currently traveling so I have no access to specific research, but you should keep researching or perhaps someone else will chime in with some papers for you to read.
  12. Had I not had initial data - I would have had nothing to compare after removing gluten. For a very long time the only improvements I had were serological. Same with my kids and grands - we test barely possitive or within "normal" ranges with so many tests - comparison has provided the most info we have ever had. For instance my b12 always hung around ...
  13. I'm confused - have you had a complete celiac antibody panel? Total IgA tTG - both IgA and IgG EMA DGP - both IgA and IgG
  14. Welcome Cathy! Your results are a bit confusing - the positive DGP is enough to know something is going on related to gluten ingestion. The positive EMA means there is damage to your small intestine. With family history and two positive antibody tests - that is celiac - in my opinion. Your total IgA is within normal range, but interestingly in...
  15. You are not a bad mother - celiac testing is beyond frustrating. His possitive tTG and symptoms are enough to diagnose for some doctors, but I do agree that getting all starting data before removing gluten is the best option. I did not see a tTG IgG in the mix - and were the gliadin tests Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) - if not add these too. Has...
  16. Your symptoms, genetics and low iron indicate celiac disease. I agree that completing all testing before eliminating gluten is the best option. Once gluten is removed this starting data is lost - for some - including me - data has helped when removing gluten did not bring healing or symptom improvement right away. Make sure you have had complete celiac...

  19. Hi CMw Not sure about the log in problem - for switching to mobile version there is a tiny link on the bottom left of your screen - if is not there on main page try looking from another page like the dinner chat.
  20. No apologies ever needed here - especially for feeling poorly - hope you are feeling better
  21. Hi Davina- Might want to do a bit of reading about histamine intolerance / regulation problems - for some reason it is completely off the radar for American docs ....took me a very long time to find this important piece of my wacky health puzzle. If you can't find info let me know - I've got some great links - just no access to them at the moment...
  22. I paid $14 for a small bag - a very long time ago - was upset at the time but sure does last.
  23. Will be pulling into condo about dinner time - guessing that the boneless chicken or the premade carnitas are the best choices - hoping the turkey fully defrosts for tomorrow night - I'm hungry - 300 miles of farmland leaves lots of time for daydreaming of food!
  24. I was missing two adult teeth - top incisors - I had the baby teeth for them - Ortho made my k9s look like incisors (well almost). No idea if it was celiac related. I was also missing a tiny inner ear bone and my lowest vertebra was malformed. never found any - except the vertebra seems to be improved in most recent xray.
  25. I had to give up my favorite mac creme compact foundation because it contained wheat - but that was well over three years ago - have not checked their ingredients since.
