  1. I think Mushroom means there are many forms of Gluten Intolerance -- one being Celiac Disease and I agree.
  2. Not to worry - I cannot recall your serology - but I think you have improved gluten-free? Blood data is good to have - yet is not the end of the equation. Hang in - it does get better
  3. I think I am in love with our Carson! And thankful that we are not packing "our" trunks!
  4. You can do it - amazing how preparing all these yummy things I can no longer have doesnt bother me (well much) now that I am feeling better -- no food is worth going back to zombieland - period
  5. Had to step out to go find a friend to help my cheer....Go IH!!! PS...Dinner is folks and sis!!! Sis two nights in a row is an awesome improvement...must be the aebleskivers Tomato Cream Soup with Homemade Herb Croutons, Crunchy Bacon Bits, Chopped Onion, Cheese and Cilantro as toppers. For me -- carrot soup with the onion and cilantro...
  6. me too...no peppers -- waiting on amazon for my coconut aminos cuz I'm a cheap sob Go Go IH!!!
  7. Just a note - my teens don't cheat because they have paid dearly with accidental glutenings - the son that went gluten-free shortly after me did intentionally eat gluten a few times during high school - with time his reactions became so violent it was a natural deterent. His brother's reactions are not as powerful so he orders gluten-free items safely without...
  8. This is wonderful to hear. Know that many of us improve right away and experience some set backs - just remember how much you improved in this short time and go easy - recovering Zombies need lots of rest and loads of whole foods! Thanks for sharing - let us know if you have questions. Hopeful for you
  9. Welcome! Sounds like you are on the right path - only suggestion I have is stick with whole foods - nothing processed for at least six months. I've had a few windows of improvement over the past few years - trialing foods is very tough on a healing body. Hang in there - oh I'm guessing your functional doc is testing your vits/minerals - I get these...
  10. How could I forget.....I got almonds back - was nut free for over a year - still can't do cashews - haven't tried others yet. Almonds were a fantastic addition - I use whole raw almonds to make milk, flour, butters and the best thing is my cocoa "mousse" - yum!
  11. Might want to try replacing your All Purpose Flour with a gluten-free version -- I use all my old cake recipes with Bob's Red Mill -- others don't care for BRM, but like Pamela's or others. Gluten eaters eat my cakes all the time and have no idea it is gluten-free until I tell them.
  12. Hi Scott- So when you click on the link to the forum from the main Celiac.com web page -- it directs to this address: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/?/Forum.html'>https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/?/Forum.html INSTEAD of this correct address: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/ Hope that makes it easier to fix.
  13. Nice pans end up in the thrift stores -- I got a beautiful peacock blue enamel coated cast iron one for $2!!! Here's the recipe I use -- I just change out the flour for either gluten-free all purpose or pamela's bread mix -- pamela's is a tiny bit better -- but not worth purchasing if you have some other all purpose on hand..... http://allrecipes...
  14. I am loving it -- many others are whining -- not me -- I am out walking miles and miles with a big smile on my face and it is really cold -- we live in a little valley about three miles from the ocean as the bird flies -- sucks in the cold air at night -- this morning I had ICE, not just normal itsy bitsy frost on my windshield -- thankfully one of...
  15. Somebody mentioned Aebleskivers -- think it was Addie -- my sis and guys will be having them for dessert with blueberry topping and powdered sugar -- yum -- I will smell them Dinner is shirmp, boneless chicken breasts, roasted potatoes, broccoli salad (sis doesn't eat anything green so a small side of frozen corn for her)
  16. Took me a very long time to find all mine, but I can do small amounts of cocoa and I had a slip up a week ago and ate dairy - no reaction! I'm staying the course on my current list of foods since I've only been vertical again for a little over a month. Mid-May I plan to trial many of my problem foods with the exceptions being gluten and histamine containing...
  17. Thank you for clarifying your original statement with regard to "anti-gluten" antibodies. I concur with these articles - in most cases the DGP should be used rather than the AGA - for those with confusing serology the AGA can be used as part of the work-up. The key point is that gliadin peptide or protein antibody measurement is an important part of...
  18. Yep....I'm still getting this error message as well on laptop -- I can bypass by clicking other links like PM or New Content, then using the link back to the main forum page -- but others may not be able to get past that message. I have reset and cleared everything twice in both firefox and chrome -- no change to the above message. Mobile version still...
  19. Good Morning Kelly! Unfortunately there is no set time - for some it passes in hours and others days -- worst case and not common is weeks. It really depends on so many factors -- the meatballs may have tasted yummy so he may have ingested quite a few? As time gluten-free increases - the reactions often become worse to smaller and smaller amounts of...
  20. Got that right! We are crazy fun - not crazy - I refused antidepressants the first 10 or so times they were offered - finally gave in when my youngest was 3 - took them for a few weeks and was so angry I almost hit one of my kids - I have never ever wanted to strike a child - went off them cold turkey against doctors orders. Brain had zappy electrical feelings...
  21. We are all different. The symptoms you describe can all be related to the accidental gluten exposure. It is possible that he also has a bug. Personally, I remain very lethargic for several days. Try to get him to drink a good amount of water.
  22. I am not clear with regard to your statement. Are you speaking of anti-gliadin antibodies? Both IgA and IgG anti-gliadin antibodies are important measurements in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Of course the Deamidated Gliadin Peptide tests are preferable to the AGA tests, but this does not make them obsolete.
  23. Forgot to defrost - some sort of pork is trying now - but I think pizza may just make everyone smile a bit brighter tonight - I just decided - reg gluten-free pizza for the men and im going to try a paleo flat bread version...now Im smiling too -- basil "pesto" pork pizza for me! We are used to cold because we visit it regularly - but had to take long...
