I don't think you are doing anything wrong. in today's world everything is expensive.. I feed between 4-8daily gluten free.. You have been given some good ideas already. Being gluten-free for just over four months may not be enough time given for your body to heal. For some healing is quick & for others two three years... Plus are you off dairy? You sinply may be also reacting to other foods even if they are gluten-free.. you said gluten-free oats bother you.. I was always told not to eat gluten...

very easy to do... again if we continue to look at every label which I get lazy at times as well we wouldn't have that issue...somedays there just isn't time to look at every single thing that goes into our shopping carts... And it would be nice if companies didn't make them look like the wheat ones.... Maybe they think... -
As time goes on it does get better & easier... When parties you know are coming up make foods safe for yourself & when you find a yummy dessert make it for all to enjoy... Works wonders! Also have a safe bag of goodies in your desk, in your car, & a bar in your ourse at all times... I know many of my friends love...

I agree with Skylark,but I also want to comment on levothyroxine(generic) many people tolerate this..For me after only 2 pills I got very sick ended up with angio lymphatic edema for 8 1/2 months....severe....I was first on synthyroid for years but always felt dead.... Lucky you.....take an empty suitcase to fill up to bring back home!!! I think celiac chicks has a post on Italy..& another too but can't remember the name try googling gluten-free Italy. I need not tell you to enjoy the trip as I know you will ..I don't fly anymore(chicken) so I guess I will never see Italy.....at least not very soon.....

Skylark So how was the coffee licorice? My favorite licorce besides the black was that soft thin string kind I think it was cherry flavor!It was soft & yummy... Can't truly remember.. What we feed our poor intestinal systems! And tjhen we wonder why we don't feel like $100 bucks!!! The American diet ............

wow. that's some site! one could go on a gluten-free sugar high! What I'm now really searching for is a gluten-free candy that is the same size as a malted milk ball....I have a recipe for candy turky's that uses an oreo(gluten-free) candy corn & a malted milk ball.. for the head... I can make truffles but I'll keep searching...

candy tree is horrible!!! Scottie dogs are just Oh Hum for me.... Organ is okay. ANd I never heard of the swiss one you mentioned. Where do you get it??? I made the kids gluten-free lamb cupcakes for Easter & used the candy tree for the ears & tails...it is so hard.kids threw it out ....

Me too. Several years ago Glutino (I think) used to make a bar called Big Break & it was just like a kitkat... There is a recipe floating around for a homemade version. Glutino now has a hazelnut bar that isn't to bad ...butI loved the BigBreak Bar...

sounds like ADDICTION.....which does happen so you are not alone. If you can not control these binges on your own you should seek professional help.. Wheat & gluten withdrawral can be for some as hard as stopping smoking or drinking. By continuing this pattern you are wrecking your health... I hope you find treatment...

Sorry you are having a hard time of things...You may be a person who can not tolerate eatinig out even when the place states it has gluten-free. There are some who are VERY sensitiveto the slightest amounts of gluten. Another is it is something else making you ill. ie: sulphites or tannins in wine.. Your body is telling you...

I have bouts where I'm full but minutes later I'm starving... I find it is from being hypo thyroid. And others find it is from blood sugar levels...Have you checked those two things?
