  1. I think some members at least come on here but don't log in. I used to do that before I started posting. Now I keep it on a mode that remembers my login on this computer so it never logs out.
  2. Well there are a # of reasons your biopsy could have come back negative. If you did not have damage there yet or sporadic damage they could have missed it. If you had positive blood work I would go with that. What celiac tests were you tested for? Some are very specific for celiac. I was only diagnosed with blood tests because of the test numbers that came...
  3. Yeah it can cause you to have a reaction. My ex was a jerk and knew I could not kiss him if he just ate gluten and he said he didn't eat any gluten(but he doesn't know what all contains gluten) anyways I got a reaction and I was mad...2 weeks sick.....Now I'm very careful about that...it definitely is a way for contamination.
  4. Delphi forums is a goodplace to go for product lists. This site has a lot of that too though. Well here are brands you can have as long as they don't say wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label. They will not hide anything. Aunt Nelly's Balance Baskin Robbins Ben & Jerry Betty Crocker Blue Bunny Breyers Campbells Cascadian Farms Celestial...
  5. wow...come on everyone post....we don't bite....usually
  6. There are always questions along with celiac. I do believe that there are some blood tests that test specifically for celiac and have a there is very rarely a false positive. The gene tests are good to have done for celiac too. Biopsies can be good but if you don't have damage yet that can come back negative so again that can leave another confusing answer...
  7. I know Listerine FreshBurst is gluten free...thats what I use..I know a few other ones are too...if you contact them they will tell you all of their products that are. Tinkyada pastas are awesome...I don't think your husband could tell a difference...my family who are not celiacs eat gluten free along with me and they love it.
  8. yes a majority are but it only takes one to gluten you so definitely check unless you have a company like McCormick....I saw something in the grocery store that said wheat right in the spice It was not McCormick...I forgot the brand but it said it right on the label.
  9. Haha yeah...haven't been able to get a new pic up yet...Ive been too busy to take one and then put it on...I'll get one eventually
  10. Her blood tests came back high and her doctor said it was nothing????? GET HER A NEW DOC...alot of doctors don't know what they should about celiac and he seems to be one of them
  11. Spices can be questionable because they use wheat to prevent clumping sometimes. McCormick spices will say on the bottle you buy it in whether or not it contains gluten. They will not hide any gluten.
  12. Thats the importance of keeping a 100% gluten free diet. Even the smallest amount can damage your intestines even if you don't get symptoms. Why is it even worth it? The risks of cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis...is gluten worth that? it doesn't matter if you put a pinch of wheat starch in what you had....would you put a pinch of rat poison in? Well gluten...
  13. Yes the whole bare escentuals makeup line is gluten free. That's all I use now All of Dove products are gluten free unless they say wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label. Colgate and Crest toothpastes are gluten free. Also there are some Neutrogena products that are gluten free...I posted a big list under the product section a while ago..if you can't...

I know how it goes to feel like the odd person out and it feels like everyone picks on you with some comments they make. I personally have got to the point I do not care anymore...if they have a problem then fine thats not my problem. This is my life if they don't like it the door out is open.
  15. All of the starbucks drinks are gluten free except 1 frappucinno they have. All the syrups, whipped cream, etc is gluten free. I get toffee nut cream frappucinnos all the time
  16. So your blood test came up high and your daughter says you don't have it? I'm sorry but she sounds wrong...you have alot of things connected with celiac..osteo-arthritis, fibromyalgia, and gastrointestinal symptoms and then a high blood test...numbers do mean something...when they are elevated you have celiac...doesn't matter if they are alot over or a little...
  17. I know Folgers is ok I drink their decaf
  18. Rapid heart beat was one of my symptoms but that was attributed to hyperthyroid. My doctor said 95% of celiacs she has seen have had a thyroid issue of some sort. She also said not alot of celiacs just have celiac.
  19. Stephanie- Your right it is gross but it can happen.... Anything can happen when it comes to gluten...

Yeah that is very scary to me in my mind to. Even if it would be on my chart you now how some people are..they might say its too inconvenient and feed me whatever...maybe by then it will be out there more and we won't have to worry about that.... Hello what do they think cream of WHEAT is??????
  21. celiac3270- yea that's what happened to me..it burned so bad for a while and then I got like really itchy on top of that and then started getting bumps there, and on my elbows so I threw it away and got some that was gluten free and have not had a problem since.

    ARCHIVED New To Gf Diet

I was told pretty much the same stuff. I explained to them why it was not and they really did not want to hear it. Whether they think we make celiac up or what I don't know but it seems like they aren't very afraid to gluten us. If they had someone with a severe life threatening wheat allergy I would like to see if they handle it the same way
  24. Yep Pepsi is gluten free but as was previosly said...the carbonation may have cause a problem.
  25. Ian- I agree..I do not have the desire to eat that crap anymore either..you are so right we only have 1 life and 1 body and we should treat it right. Once your gluten free and get used to it you won't even want to eat those foods...I get the shivers when I go down the bread aisle at the store sometimes I just despise gluten now.
