  1. A non celiac going on the gluten free diet will probably be a good thing for you. It is a healthier way of living and actually better for your body. Also if you can't have sugar you may want to look into stevia and xylitol. Those are natural sugars which are ok for diabetics and hypoglycemics because they do not mess with the blood sugar. There are...
  2. I use dove shampoos, soaps, etc. They said their labels will clearly list gluten
  3. You need to see a GI doctor. Your doctor you just saw told you it sounded like gastritis and colitis...he didn't know correct? It could just be celiac...or the others. I would just wait to see the GI doctor and see what he says you have.Is there another GI doctor you could get in to see quicker? Also having your husband call might do the trick. My mom set...
  4. Yes you need to be on longer then 12 days...most recommend 3 months to get accurate results. I would just get back on gluten now since you haven't been gluten-free for long.
  5. It must be something else because Jiff is gluten free..if that brand is not good for you then find a different brand....i listed the link and a whole bunch of brands that are gluten free...

  9. To me I have to have all makeup gluten free...think about how many times you touch your face then touch food without washing hands....when you wash it off the possibility of it getting into your mouth...etc...I would rather be safe the sorry when it comes to that stuff.
  10. My reactions last for about 2 weeks with the 7th day being the worst. My reactions last long compared to alot of celiacs I know. When I get glutened I usually get aot of nausea. I eat rice, yogurt, mashed potatoes, and soup to calm my stomach. Also try a tea like peppermint or chamomile which will really help with reactions..they are very soothing. Make...
  11. I have to agree with celiac3270 there....it was vague and did not specify that some of the things they listed could in fact have gluten. It also says under cereals that Rice Crispies are gluten free...which they have barley malt in them.
  12. I have heard that not all stools that float are necessarily bad. It doesn't always mean malabsorption.
  13. Amy's has gluten-free pizza and prepackaged mac and cheese. Fried rice is easy to make Veggies(to chop up and put in fried rice is really good) Fruit Peanut Butter cookies are easy to make: This is how I make them: 1 cup peanut butter 1 egg 1/2 cup of sugar(I can't take really sweet ones) and then roll around in sugar put in oven for about...
  14. I will not eat out if I don't have to. I don't really enjoy it now.I don't even like to go to certain relatives houses because some just don't get it and then I feel so awkward. I would rather cook for people at my own house so I know exactly what is going into my food and don't have to feel awkward.
  15. When you are fully compliant to the gluten free diet then I don't think life spans are affected. If life span is affected it is definitely not like it is when you don't follow the diet.
  16. That's great! I don't think we have that store around here...I should check though...let me know how you like the makeup...I absolutely love it...it looks so natural

  18. Your welcome:) I didn't know the difference and I searched it and found that on another celiac site so I copied and pasted it. What would we do without the Internet?

Yea that's true alot of places are like that. I thought that this place would know because I figured there was bound to be other celiacs going there to check too. For some reason I thought they would know but o well just another place to cross off for now. I am going to call and just give a suggestion that they make gluten free products and have a list of...
  22. It can trigger symptoms to start but it doesn't have to. Some people just don't get symptoms.
  23. Yeah I'll keep everyone updated with what happens...can you believe how uniformed some people can be? I hope he researches it or gets some legal advice before going before a judge and looking like a butt

While we were there we decided to ask if they had any gluten free products..he told us no..then he said wait hold on I'll check. So he goes to get something out of the fridge and brings it back and is looking at the ingredients and said what is the...
  25. You have never been tested for celiac? Were you gluten free when you were tested for intolerance. Whether you get symptoms or not you will get damage to your system if you are a celiac. Some people react to some things but not other things. Other don't react at all and then others react to every little bit. I think if you tested gluten intolerant then it...
