  1. Yes I used Ensure Plus to gain weight when I really needed to and it really helped. Most of ensure is gluten free. I liked the Butter Pecan the best and the flavors are definitely better chilled. You will learn so much information on here and so many people are supportive so if you have a question just ask. Good luck
  2. That is so cruel....that lady should be fired and not allowed to teach in a school with young kids...she should be so embarrassed of her actions.
  3. That is so true. These pharmaceutical companies just want our money..they don't care if we get better. The side effects are amazing too..I mean some of the side effects...strokes, heart attacks...come on I mean thats crazy. Most of the time they cover up one problem and cause another...they never get rid of the original problem either they just cover it up...
  4. Celiac will not show up on a CBC. They have to specifically test for that. Now complications of celiac such as anemia would show up in a CBC
  5. Well lipstick is pretty much essential because it is right on lips. Lotions containing gluten can possibly get on food you eat. If you have wheat in your hair its easy to get to your mouth. I just stick with all gluten-free products even though I do not have DH it is much safer and the possibility of contamination is lower that way.
  6. Do you wear lotions, etc that cous have gluten? I had an accident a few months ago where I used some lip balm that had vitamin E that come to find out had wheat in it. I got a bad reaction from it. I ended up just throwing all of my lipsticks away and getting a brand that was soley gluten free. Hope you feel better soon....mornings were worse for me too when...
  7. If there is nothing stuck to it and you was it thoroughly then it is probably ok and you can keep that for it. Otherwise I think you should get a new one or something...just if there is something stuck on it you can't get off don't use that one.
  8. I never had "D" it was more the other way around for me but yes I noticed quickly that cleared up. Some people see a difference as quick as you did and others don't....that's great that cleared up alot Did you tell your family about celiac yet or are they still out of town?
  9. I followed no candida diet...doctor just told me to take the Nystatin to clear it up and it did.
  10. Thank you everyone who has offered to help If you still want yours in it let me know I have a little bit of room for the stories left.
  11. how long have you been gluten free?is there anything that can be slipping in? have you checked lipsticks etc.? for some people it takes longer to feel better ...took me 3 months to get feeling alot better then another couple months to get back to normal.
  12. Welcome to the board Ask any questions there are great people on here. Any amount of cheating is bad..it is not fine. It does damage to your intestines. Your body not only attacks the gluten but it attacks where the gluten is starting to be absorbed, your villi. There will be accidents though. Your doctor may not know alot about celiac if he thinks...
  13. Your food bill does not have to go up all the time. There are ways to keep it down. I know my family pays a lot groceries every month. The bill is about $800.00 a month for us. We do buy mostly organic veggies and fruits which alone will make it go up. We were paying alot before going gluten free as well ...just not as much as now.
  14. If that gene like Mariann said is a DQ2 gene.... that is one of the major celiac genes.
  15. Health food stores are a good place to look.
  16. Yes Sally it is. Post cereal is manufactured by Kraft who will not hide anything. Those are 2 cereals that are gluten free I eat them sometimes
  17. Hey Sally the rapid heartbeat caught my eye. Is that sitting or standing? I found out I have graves disease(hyperthyroid) and one of the things that started recently was low blood pressure/high pulse upon standing. It doesn't happen all the time but it does sometimes. Have you had that checked? This new thing that your doctor found...how did he diagnose that...
  18. That would be more to the story then...I don't think he had very good doctors, and I don't think he was really gluten free...I think he had several health problems due to being a dwarf.
  19. I think supplements are a wonderful boost to the immune system and very helpful.
  20. Yeah I wouldn't risk it...you know how kids touch things, touch their mouth, etc. Make sure they do not give him any food that contains gluten. I used to work at a daycare and they are pretty careless.
  21. Before I went gluten free I had "C" ....now I don't
  22. You do not have to worry about touching gluten unless you have DH or something. You can touch it just make sure you wash your hands good after handling that.
  23. Yes you need to be concerned about getting a separate toaster, peanut butter jar, etc. That can cause damage. If you make pancakes on something just clean it before making something gluten free. It really gets so much easier...it's just a normal thing in life when you get used to it. It's worth it...hang in there
  24. They said his height was because of celiac......was that not true? If he was a dwarf then your right that can cause some serious health issues...
  25. There are not degrees of celiac...celiacs have to stay away from gluten. I did not get immediate reactions at first but being off of gluten made me more sensitive now I react badly. Some doctors just really don't get celiac. It will set your healing back and if you keep setting your healing back then what's the use of the diet? I know people who were...
