  1. Jessica You are so right. If a company with a gluten free list is not willing to put that product on their gluten free list it has too be very risky.

    ARCHIVED Pre-diagnosis

Nope...I'm a bit young for something like that but I've seen stranger things happen...but nope the only thing I have a problem with is sometimes horrible cramps...sometimes it will be pleasant but other times it can be a monster. My aunt had one done but she does not have celiac that we know of. She refuses to get tested
  4. I know I found those at the regular grocery store and they marked it right on the package...I was so impressed
  5. I am also the only one in the house with celiac...my mom had a wheat allergy though so she is on the diet with me....my dad follows it too when he is not at work...we sometimes get my dad prepackaged gluten containing foods for him to eat at work but everything in the house we eat here is gluten-free because it would be more of a frustration and risk. ...
  6. Somewhere I heard that women are more prone to getting autoimmune disorders. I don't know the ratios for celiac. I think women tend to find support groups though.
  7. Do you have all the ingredients there? Some companies will list common allergens such as wheat, milk, soy , etc but they will not put rye, barley, oats...so it is possible that maybe one of the other ingredients were in the product. Most likely though if a company says they can't guarantee anything then it is risky because you don't know ..it could contain...
  8. I agree with celiac3270 I think it is safe when distilled. I have never had a problem with distilled vinegar either.
  9. yeah I think they could make a pretty awesome show with that...I'm going to call around and see if I cen get any help to get a script or something presented to them...until then what do you all want to do about it?

  11. Alot of places that I have been to they have little packets of salt and butter. I haven't been out to eat alot since being diagnosed though but I wouldn't find it a concern. I still check the ingredients on the mini butters though.
  12. Mariann- Mine are pineapple/orange flavored. They actually taste good and its 2 tablespoons of it a day. I take Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition. It says ultra absorbable on the front which is what I was after and apparently they have been working because I had a vitamin and mineral blood test done and all of them were in the normal range compared to before...
  13. Yea I eat McDonalds Sundaes. They are gluten free
  14. For mine they were just looking for any problems in general...They wanted to rule out Crohns especially because that ran on my dads side of the family and any other problems that it could be that it would detect...all turned out fine. To keep it going through me they had me walk around, do some jumping jacks..and it helped move it through quicker. It really...
  15. I had to drink the barium too. It tasted a bit chalky but they gave me the strawberry flavor so it wasn't that bad. It took about 2-2 1/2 hours to do and they take xrays every so often to see how far it moves along. It's really not that bad. It gets a bit annoying just waiting around. Its ok though
  16. Probiotic bacteria favorably alter the intestinal microflora balance, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, promote good digestion, boost immune function, and increase resistance to infection.Probiotic bacteria also produce substances called bacteriocins, which act as natural antibiotics to kill undesirable microorganisms. Enzymes help with digestion...
  17. As was said in the previous posts cornstarch is a great thickener As for whipped cream..look at Kraft they do not hide anything.
  18. Beverly Candida can cause similar symptoms of celiac...so if you have still been having trouble especially you may want to look into it. Probiotics, enzymes, and vitamins( I prefer liquid) are good to take If you need more info just contact me
  19. I have candida in the small intestine and I use Nystatin. I was never on the candida diet just the gluten free. I do take probiotics which seem to also help. I also recommend you getting on enzymes and a good liquid vitamin. If you ever need any help or recommendations feel free to contact me or just ask anyone on the board...they are all great

  21. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Here is a link to lists about forbidden foods, safe foods, and other things to be aware of. Is this a celiac dietician you are going to see? I had many people tell me I could have Spelt(which I can't its a form of wheat) so make sure they don't tell you anything bogus. Also does anyone in your...
  22. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Here is a link to some lists of forbidden foods, safe foods, and extra things to be sure about. It all depends on the brands that you get. Yoplait will clearly say wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label. General Mills and Kraft will also clearly list anything. These are some brands beloww that Richard...
  23. Well alot of contamination is possible if its on your hands it gets in your food....lipstick is a big concern too that is overlooked alot...alot of it is made with wheat starch. some people opt to have gluten free shampoos and such like me because of possibility of traces getting into your mouth.
  24. I know the Stoneyfield Farms told me that for their smoothies the natural flavor is grain based but they distill it so it is ok. I only drink them occasionally though.
