  1. I've heard York to be a good testing and one of my doctors even recommended me getting one done(before they knew it was celiac) Some doctors just don't like it and are close minded and they will make every excuse in the book not to get it done.
  2. wow thats horrible..not very professional on their part
  3. If you haven't checked other things such as lipsticks, toothpastes, lotions, et you could still be getting a bit of gluten in your system.(for makeup the whole bare escentuals line is gluten free and alot of burt's bees is gluten free) It takes some time for all symptoms to go away ..it took me 3 months to get alot better but a few more months to get back...
  4. It's something that can be derived from wheat...but not always...it's something to check on. If the company is like Kraft or something it would be fine but I check every time I see it for brands I do not know about...I learned the lesson the hard way.
  5. You should get gluten free playdough. Kids play with it and they put their hands on their face and mouth and it's easy to get some gluten into their mouth.
  6. It's sad that those people have the one way of thinking..I mean Jesus knows the heart of someone who is taking communion and that's what matters...not the ingredients of the wafer.Jesus would not want us to hurt ourselves. I go to a non denominational church that is similar to baptist and they allow me to bring my own communion and are very understanding...
  7. I'm making it for my family too when I go get all the ingredients...I'll be sure to post how it turns out
  8. If you haven't already check lipsticks too...that is common to forget but that definitely gets into your mouth and I had a problem with some lip balm with vitamin E that was derived from wheat that was causing a reaction. It's better safe then sick There is wonderful info about products that are gluten-free on here and if you don't know about something just...
  9. I was lactose intolerant on and off my whole life until a few months after going gluten free. Lactose intolerance can come with celiac because of the villi damaged in your intestines. After I started getting better the lactose problem went away and now I have no problem with it.
  10. Yeah Kristina is right. I used to not care as well but then I had reactions as well... I choose to be completely gluten-free in all ways.
  11. I can't wait either I also love new things especially that taste good
  12. If you follow the diet your chances for cancer are very low...if you do not then your chances sky rocket...If you follow the diet your body straightens itself out to function normally again. It took my symptoms a few months to go away...your body needs time to heal itself...the longer you go undiagnosed the longer the symptoms take to go away because of damage...
  13. There are many good probiotics and enzymes. I use Enzymatic Therapy brands..they write what they are free of on their products so that is very convenient. The thing I like about liquid vitamins is they say ultra absorbable on them(at least the ones I have) which I find very important. Pretty much any vitamin though is good and will be useful. If you have...
  14. Yep Ginger Ale is gluten free
  15. The problem with the gene test is 2% of celiacs do not have it and 30% of people who don't have it also have the gene. It is a good bet though considering 98% of celiacs have the gene but its not a sure bet.
  16. I use Pillsbury frosting....you have to check labels but they do not hide anything All frostings are not gluten free.
  17. Did the results of your blood test come back positive? I use all gluten free products because I also get problems with itchyness. I also lost some weight but not as much as you have and that is due to malnourishment. Find a good liquid vitamin to get on. I use Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition and they are ultra absorbable. Also get yourself a good probiotic...
  18. I've never seen it...I guess its a good thing that I didn't see it...I think I would be grossed out 2.
  19. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 This provides a safe and forbidden list of foods for celiacs. Gluten can be hidden under alot of ingredients so the forbidden list will help as a guideline while you learn the ropes. Amy's brand pizza is a good brand that we eat alot. Also Amy's mac and cheese just tastes like normal mac and cheese and is...
  20. What toothpaste do you use? Crest and Colgate are gluten free. Also check cosmetics(especially lipstick-I overlooked this at first and it had wheat starch in it) Russell Stover, and Hersheys will not hide it on their labels and will list it if it is in their product. My whole family is supportive as well policy is no gluten in the house unless its prepackaged...
  21. If you ignore the diet things such as cancer, osteoporosis, infertility etc. are common. You are putting yourself at risk for an early death....for gluten....is that worth your life? Even if you don't feel it...it does damage to your intestines. There are foods at McDonalds that are gluten free they have a list on their website however KFC does not have any...

Most of Tom of Maines toothpaste is gluten-free.According to a paper I got : The Natural Orange-Mango Anticavity Plus Whitening Flouride Gel and the Natural Outrageous Orange-Mango Anticavity Flouride Toothpaste for Children are NOT gluten free. If you are having symptoms I would really suggest you get checked.I was suprised when the endocrinologist told me that ...after that I went to my regular MD and asked him and he said that was true....I got checked for a lot of autoimmune disorders that come with celiac so I'm sure you can ask for that but it also depends how you feel and so forth. I personally...
  25. Your numbers for the tests are high....also when you ask for a thyroid test just say I want to have my thyroid tested....have them check your TSH(I think the most important one), T4, T3, Thyroid peroxidase AB, Thyroglobulin AB....these are all the thyroid tests I had done. The symptoms you are explaining resemble that of thryoid disorders and highly connected...
