  1. Baked potatoes settle well on my stomach when I have been glutened. Jello and yogurt also settle well on my stomach too.
  2. Nope no side effects for me at all....I am on the liquid Nystatin. He said I will be on it for a while to get rid of the candida but thats fine the effects it has is well worth it. I take 3 teaspoons a day. There are other forms of Nystatin to get though but my doctor said being a celiac he thought this would absorb better. If it has something in it you can...
  3. Actually they can diagnose you through only blood tests. I didn't have an initial biopsy to diagnose me the blood tests and symptoms were enough for him. If her blood tests came back negative and she has a lot of symptoms then she may want to consider a biopsy or an enterolab. I would have her find a good GI doctor who knows alot about celiac disease. Since...
  4. I love Kraft too....I depend on these products so much. I'm going to email them or something and tell them how awesome they are for their gluten policy
  5. Mine is actually hyperthyroid which is a bit different then hypothyroid. Hyper over produces and hypo under produces. Nevertheless they still both fall under thyroid. I was never told to avoid any foods because of my thyroid. I know peanuts and soy can make your thyroid sluggish so if you have hypothyroid you may be told to eat them in moderation. Are you...
  6. Celiac can cause the burning that you are having. Once you get off gluten your symptoms will get less and less if it is a celiac problem. Considering it is getting better when you are off gluten I would suspect that the more you are off of gluten the better it will get. If I accidentally have gluten I get pain in my stomach on and off for like 2 weeks. I...
  7. Yes Nystatin is an anti fungal. I do not follow the candida diet just the celiac one. Alot of doctors are not crazy about it . I was diagnosed through a stool sample(they weren't even looking for it). To be tested for allergies you look at York labs. If you didn't want to do that I know that doctors can do blood work to check for them.
  8. The graves disease is only in beginnings stages so we are just monitoring it at this point. The symptoms are not severe and are not persistant just occasional fatigue and my blood pressure gets lower and my pulse high when I stand up. So I am not even on meds yet. My thyroid has been off for a while so they recommended I see an endocrinologist and I went...
  9. If she has been avoiding gluten she would need to be on gluten for more than a week to get a biopsy. Avoiding gluten repairs the intestines so then the results would come back negative. Have you found out the blood results yet? Was she avoiding gluten around the time she got her blood drawn? I would see the results of the blood test before you get a biopsy...
  10. They taste better then pringles to me. Although I haven't had pringles in a very long time. They are made in a separate facility then the gluten products Big accomplishment for them I will say...there are 4 brands of their chips made in a gluten-free facility.
  11. The blood test would not be affected. It takes a while for the antibodies to come down. Could you have maybe gluten intolerance? Have you also looked into possibilities of other foods causing problems. Maybe you should get tested for allergies and intolerances as well. Also if you really do think you have celiac you could do an enterolab. Have you been checked...
  12. I use stevia. The box says no saccharin, nutrasweet, aspartame, refined sugar, maltodextrin, fructose, artificial sweeteners of any kind I use Stevia Plus and Stevia Clear. It says it is safe for diabetics and hypoglycemics as well. I for one like stevia and have had no trouble at all. Nutrasweet used to give me headaches. There are different brands that manufactur...
  13. Have you had your thyroid checked. I just found out I have Graves disease(hyperthyroid). Thyroid problems run with celiac alot. Also I would have your blood sugar checked. Make sure you are taking vitamins as well. A good liquid vitamin is extremely good. I take Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition and they are ultra absorbable. Also how long have you been gluten...
  14. I recommend giving your child liquid vitamins. I take Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition and it is ultra absorbable. Aside from that I would have him take enzymes and probiotics as well. In my opinion as well washing the gravy off did not help because of even traces of gluten getting into your system can harm you. People are different so symptoms going...
  15. I also received that list but they also told me that they wouldn't hide gluten under labels. I was also very impressed by Hershey's and the way I was treated by them. I'm not sure about their policies on gluten-free products in Canada but here in the US they won't hide it.
  16. I have both candida and celiac. I was diagnosed with celiac then I went gluten-free and I got alot better on the diet (like 95%) but still not 100% normal. I then was diagnosed with Candida but I am not on the candida diet I am taking Nystatin for that and that took care of everything and put me back at 100%. Celiac and candida have some very similar symptoms...
  17. For some people it just takes longer for symptoms to go away. Have you seen improvement on the diet? If you have that means your body is in the healing process it just may be happening at a slower pace but you could bring it up when you see your doctor just to make sure thats all thats going on.
  18. Here is a list from Genisoy that I got on their gluten-free products: Products Formulated to be Gluten Free GeniSoy Bars- Chunky Peanut Butter, Creamy Peanut Yogurt Extreme Bars- Peanut Butter Fix Roasted Soy Nuts- Salted & Unsalted Gourmet Nuts- Praline Soy Nuts, Chocolate Soy Nuts Soy Crisps- BBQ, Creamy Ranch, Cheddar Cheese, Deep Sea Salted...
  19. Yeah sounds worse then it is though I don't know why they call it Graves... sounds like I'm going to die or something. It's a form of hyperthyroid. I just had fatigue then when I would stand up I would get a drop in blood pressure and increase in heart rate. I was also cold and heat intolerant. It wasn't persistent symptoms it was on and off symptoms(very...
  20. I know smelling gluten wouldnt cause a reaction unless it got into your system. I know I have a friend who had to quit her job working at a bakery because the flour she was working with was causing her a reaction(she has dh). I think alot of people who work around that stuff wear masks which would probably help to prevent the flour from getting into their...
  21. I don't think companies use flour for that. Flour contains wheat and I think they would have to disclose if they have a major allergen in there wouldn't they? Knowing companies maybe they wouldn't If you have an allergy to latex that could have caused a reaction. Is this a regular reaction you get to gluten or not? Hope you find out what caused it.
  22. I've always wondered about inhaling gluten and if that causes reactions. I mean you hear things about people with severe peanut butter allergies where if someone even opens a jar of peanut butter and they smell it then they get a reaction so I'm not sure how the whole inhaling thing works with celiac. I know that some people work at bakeries with no problem...
  23. Yeah what was said before me is correct. I would call about it if it is not a brand like Kraft which will not hide gluten.
  24. Some people are just sensitive to smoke. I know when I am around a lot of smoke I get coughing attacks and burning eyes but it is not a gluten related reaction. I've never actually checked to see if they are in fact gluten free because my family doesn't smoke and neither do I...I would guess they are but I'm not sure.
  25. Yeah I personally use Jif and skippy alot. My mom likes the healthier ones.
