  1. Yes it can be tough at the beginning. I was so overwhelmed but it gets much easier with time. You will learn brands that you can have and you learn about ingredients that you need to watch out for. If you need help with anything just ask
  2. Some people seem to say they have reactions to Frito Lay products. I personally have never had a reaction and I am sensitive but some people who are also sensitive have reacted. I know that there are 4 products they have that are made on a dedicated gluten free line. Could there be something else in it that you are sensitive too? The fries at McD here...
  3. It's under the FAQ...I typed in are Jamba Juices gluten free in my search and it sent me to their FAQ page...now you know that you can have some of these wonderful drinks
  4. Yep this is from their site Does Jamba Juice offer gluten-free products? Yep! All smoothies EXCEPT Jamba PowerBoost and Coldbuster
  5. I just called Starbucks less then 5 minutes ago...all of their beverages are gluten free except the Java Chip(the chocolate chips are not gluten-free) also the fappuccinos with the brownies are not gluten-free(obviously) he said most of those are discontinued but that if they still have them in some locations they are not gluten-free. All of their pastries...
  6. It varies from person to person on feeling better. It took me 3 months to get back to about 85% then a few more months to get feeling normal again. For some people it takes them less time and for some more. Feel better soon
  7. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 This will help you with what ingredients to look for. It has safe and forbidden lists for us. It is a good guideline when you are first starting out and don't really know what to look for. There are some companies like Kraft who will not hide gluten under anything. On their labels they will put wheat...
  8. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Here is a link for safe and forbidden lists for celiacs that will help as a guideline. Gluten can be hidden under alot of things like modified food starch, natural flavors, etc. so you have to learn brands that are safe or call about them if you see a questionable ingredient. Daisy sour cream...
  9. Yes, lists change frequently and you should call about a product rather than assuming it is gluten free. Ingredients change on products more frequently then we realize. With companies like Kraft, and General Mills a list is not necessary. All you have to do is check the label with their products and unless it says wheat, rye, barley, or oats then it is safe...
  10. I just got a response back from Cracker Barrel today: Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with all of us here at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. We're always pleased to hear from our guests. At the present time we do not have the nutritional information for gluten that you have requested. I'm sure in the near future this will be...
  11. pisand13- I use enzymatic therapy probiotics. I use a lot of supplements by that brand because they list in their bottle what they are free of. Just work on giving yourself nutrition to give you the strength to be able to play sports. I'm not sure if this is the kind of drink you are looking for but alot of the Ensure products are gluten free and they...
  12. I would definately look into other possibilites besides celiac disease....seems very odd to be so sick and continuing to get worse.Has there been any progress at all? I hope you get some answers soon and keep us updated and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask
  13. That is great that the doctor listened I hope things work out well
  14. Laurie, yeah bad idea without checking to see if it was gluten free. Most likely it had gluten in it if you got that kind of reaction. If you are looking for like boxes of potatoes to mix up Betty Crocker is a good brand. They are manufactured by General Mills which won't hide anything They are like a Kraft brand. Thats good you have the lists that will...
  15. jcgirl-What brand of potatoes were they? Do you have a list of safe and forbidden foods for celiacs?
  16. It can be hard but once you get off of it and see how much better you do it really isn't that hard to avoid it. Think about the risks of cancers, diabetes, and other serious things....that scares me to death and that should scare you away from gluten. Think about it...is your health worth risking for a piece of pizza? You will not like the consequences...
  17. Country Crock spreads are gluten free
  18. I have been playing tournament fastpitch softball for 9 years, love to play all sports. We play 5-6 games a weekend sometimes and travel around the US. I make sure I keep my immune system up. I take liquid vitamins, and take enzymes, and probiotics and much more but I consider those especially essential. If you want to gain weight try ensure plus it is gluten...
  19. jknnej-I try to eat alot of organic things whenever I can. I'm not completely organic but I think it's a good way to go
  20. Open Original Shared Link On this gluten free medications list they have some gluten free birth controls.
  21. I wouldn't even expect to feel better so soon. Your body has to repair itself. For me it took 3 months to get to about 85% and then another couple months to feel completely normal. For some people it may take more or less time to heal but don't expect to feel better so soon because a lot of people don't feel better that fast. Even at the 1 week you...
  22. Biopsies can be good but they can also miss a diagnosis altogether if there is no damage yet or if they took samples from a spot that contained no damage. With your blood work really high I would definately not x celiac off at all. You could very well have celiac disease and with your blood tests high like you said I highly suspect celiac disease. I was...
  23. Yes they would list wheat, rye, barley,or oats after the vinegar if it contained it.(in the US that is)
  24. I'm not sure about Canada because I do not live there but I know in the US that Kraft will not hide wheat, rye, barley, or oats under anything. For example:if there is modified food starch on the label of a Kraft product but doesn't say wheat, rye, barley, or oats after it then it is safe...Kraft will list the allergen after the ingredient if it is in the product...
  25. The refractory celiac disease is EXTREMELY rare. What first comes to my mind is he 100% gluten free? You know everything gluten can be hidden under correct? Also have you checked his toothpastes, soaps, shampoos, any medications etc. Make sure there is absolutely no chance of any gluten getting into him. It really sounds to me like something may be slipping...
