  1. Yep the blood test would be back negative if you were gluten free for 3 months. That's how they monitor compliance of some people because going gluten free brings the levels down. I never had a biopsy but some people opt to. My doctor and I found the blood test to be more than enough evidence that I had it. Your biopsy may come back negative as well....
  2. Yeah I agree with Sarah and celiac3270 there....I think it will just cause more problems and what they do best here is cover the symptoms(and cause more problems with side effects) not take away the root problem...
  3. Definitely call the company to make sure. Gluten can be hidden under those types of things so it's best to be sure before you eat them.
  4. Yep that is correct Carrie
  5. Are those the only celiac tests you were tested for? 99 is a very high positive and when you were gluten free and they went lower that makes me think something has to be up with the gluten whether you are intolerant or a celiac. I would go for further testing depending on what you have been tested for. I suggest also maybe an Enterolab. Good luck
  6. Yeah everyone who posted is correct corn is gluten free. There is such things as corn gluten but that is ok for celiacs because it is corn so maybe they got confused. We can't have wheat, rye, barley, oats. Unless there is a seasoning added that is not gluten free then you shouldn't worry.
  7. A while ago I called and they told me their products were gluten-free. If anyone hears different let me know.
  8. IgG is NOT the best one for celiac. IgA is one that is pretty good,EMA and tTG are very specific for celiac. If she is feeling better gluten-free then she could be gluten intolerant and not celiac....and some blood tests can come back negative so she may in fact be celiac. What is her dad? a celiac?? I would recommend an Enterolab(tests for celiac through...
  9. You have on your signature 3 months gluten-free...if your doctor just took blood then they would come back negative because you have been gluten-free. Also I never had a biopsy because my blood tests were proof enough for my doctor, GI doctor, and me. We also request copies of blood tests...you need to be firm with the doctor and demand them explain it to...
  10. I am happy with not eating gluten as well It would be cool if they made a pill to help with accidental gluten intake but I don't like the idea of popping a pill and all the problems are gone...I just don't buy it at this point. I understand exactly where you are coming from Kristina
  11. Yeah something to help with accidental ingestions of gluten would be very much appreciated
  12. Yoplait will list wheat, rye, barley, or oats if they contain any.Unless you see one of those ingredients on the label then it is safe. I eat Yoplait all the time
  13. Yes if you think it may be celiac then I would say Mariann is definitely on the right track with the Enterolab suggestion. That does not require you get back on gluten if you are off of it. Open Original Shared Link Here is their website if you are interested

Your body has to adjust with no longer having the gluten in your diet. That will go away when your body adjusts. You can't expect all problems to go away overnight. It took me 3 months to really feel a difference and then a few more months to get back to normal. This varies from person to person but you must be patient Since you are new to the diet you may...
  15. Yeah smoothies are a wonderful idea
  16. What tests did they test you for with celiac? Did they have your EMA and tTG done? Those are pretty specific for celiac. If you keep testing negative maybe you are gluten intolerant but not celiac. You could have an Enterolab done and they can check for celiac with that without requiring you to get back on gluten if you really think you have celiac. You may...
  17. Which tests did they test for? Did they test for EMA and tTG? Those are very specific for celiac. Also sometimes tests come back negative so if you think it may still be celiac don't rule it out yet and you may want to go to a doctor who is knowledgable with celiac. You may want to have her thyroid checked. Having your thyroid off can cause all sorts of...
  18. ErraticBinxie-this is from celiac3270's post previousy ErraticBinxie-The villi is in your small intestine and that helps put nutrients into your bloos stream and that it what is damaged.
  19. Yeah that would be a definate problem I think. I would not be taking the pill I know that. I would not do that for a long long time after they have it. Just like people with allergies have epi pens...to stop the reaction...not to cure the allergy....I am very very skeptical of a pill somehow stopping damage to my intestines and would not risk damage...
  20. I also had a hard time gaining weight. I was at a normal weight my whole life until my symptoms started then I couldn't gain anything. After I went gluten-free I was able to put on some weight. Things like Ensure Plus help they have 350 calories in 1 little bottle of it. They are gluten free and taste alot better chilled. My fav. kind is Butter Pecan that...
  21. We get the # from the Kinnikinnick site then call them and order them. They were here within 2 days. I think at some health food stores they have them but I am not sure. I know gluten-free pretzels you can find at a health food store if not you can go to a site and order those as well.
  22. That is soo awesome! I'm sure it got the word out to people listening
  23. If I get the slightest bit of gluten I am sick for about 2 weeks. It varies from person to person.
  24. Have you had a biopsy done on the blisters to see if it is DH? Some doctors I think require that even if you have been diagnosed with celiac disease. I don't know why he would do that though I mean it sounds likeDH so much to me and you are a celiac to me its a nobrainer. Have you had a second opinion? And does your doctor know alot about celiac?
  25. Thanks for posting I'm skeptical about having a pill to be able to eat gluten..it would be nice but how would it stop the damage and so forth. My body would still recognize gluten and then go to attacking my intestines. I hope they do come up with something and they has been so much progress being made.
