  4. Mel- Well if you can't have soy and it had soy in it then that would likely have caused the reaction. I hope you feel better...how have you been feeling besides that? any better? any worse? I have been doing well. I had a check up done for vitamins and minerals and they came back good again:) Before I was diagnosed with celiac I was shown deficient...

  10. Lisa- I use Xylitol and Stevia (which are natural)and they don't mess with blood sugar so they are ok even for diabetics.
  11. Xylitol and Stevia are natural and they are even ok for diabetics and hpoglycemics because it does not mess with your blood sugar.
  12. Wow a whole piece of bread...we could nibble on a crumb everyday for a month
  13. Nystatin got rid of mine and cleared up symptoms as well so I'm not complaining I asked a few doctor about it and they said it is what is commonly used to treat candida.
  14. These are the 5 tests I was talking about: -Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA -Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG -Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA -Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA -Total Serum IgA These are the most common tests for celiac.
  15. Fibromyalgia is connected with celiac and you seem to have a bunch of symptoms that can come with celiac. You should consider getting tested for celiac. The Enterolab is a great recommendation...they can detect malabsorption, celiac genes, gluten sensetivities, and so forth. www.enterolab.com That is their website and you will be able to find out more...
  16. yeah im afraid it will stop a reaction but not the damage...I don't want it when it comes out...eating gluten free is better for my body anyway.

  18. Karen-there is also a section on Frostings in I think the baking section so you may want to take a look at that for other frostings too.....Tell me how your cake turns out...I think I will make a dessert now too
  19. gliX-symptoms do not matter with celiac...someone without symptoms may have just as much damage to their intestines as someone with severe symptoms. As said in a post by Jessica...there are levels of damage but not celiac. Some people catch celiac before alot of damage is done which is good but still does not change the fact they are celiac and need to avoid...
  20. Nothing so far...the only thing is the diet. They are working on a pill that supposedly would allow us to eat gluten but I'm very skeptical of it. That's a ways off though. I really don't find celiac to be bad at all...
  21. gliX-There are no degrees of celiac...you have it or you don't.. If you have celiac whether or not you react to it doesn't mean a thing...some celiacs don't get symptoms. It still does damage to your intestines. Viola-yeah some doctors and nutririonists are not up on things like they should.New celiacs who are told this by them may learn the hard...
  22. Karen Well Betty Crocker is a General Mills product so if it doesn't have wheat, rye, barley, oats then it is safe(at least in the US) The ones I looked at when I was at the store contained wheat starch but I only picked up a chocolate and vanilla...it could have just been that those were some that contained gluten and the others don't...
  23. tTG is a pretty specific test for celiac. If that came out positive something is going on. Type 1 diabetes is very much connected with celiac.... Nausea was my main symptom with celiac and the symptoms you are describing are all symptoms of celiac but since there are so many symptoms and the symptoms also can be caused by something else it can be hard to...
  24. What was suggested is a good thing to look into. Also not eating chocolate or caffeine a few hours before bed. Calcium right before bed can relax you and help you sleep.(I used to have the same problem but most of it went away when I went gluten free) How long have you been gluten free?
  25. Yogurt is also a good thing to have
