  1. There are 200+ symptoms that can come with celiac and everyone is different. What they told you about celiac is absolutely false. There are people that haven't been diagnosed for years. Also some people with celiac also do not get symptoms which makes it harder to diagnose. Doctors commonly make a diagnosis of IBS when it is in fact celiac. Celiac is commonly...
  2. Yes they seem like very good results especially for 7 months. For some people it just takes longer for their symptoms to go away. I think if you have seen progress from going gluten free then you should give it some more time. I'm sure your body is healing but it's healing at it's own rate. There are things you can do to minimize symptoms like certain teas...
  3. Celiacs do not grow out of this. If you have it you have if for life. I have heard that blood tests can come back innaccurate with children under 2. You may want to consider going to a doctor who knows a lot about celiac who will be able to tell you more about what he thinks may be going on. Also you could always try a gluten free diet and see if he has a...
  4. TerpyTaylor-You will like the Young Life camp. Have you been there before? I went for a week to a Young Life camp about 3 or 4 years ago and I had so much fun. I would bring alot of on the go snacks. Little bags of chips or pretzels, envirokidz bars, snickers bars(not the heathiest choice but still good), cereals, and things that will last a while. Also maybe...

  8. pixiegirl-could there be something else in those products that give you a problem? Since 4 of the brands of their chips are made on a dedicated line it seems like there may be something else. 10. yeah there is really no perfect gluten-free bread but there are some pretty good ones out there. I personally like Kinnikinnick and Foods by George which taste normal to me.
  11. Which tests for celiac were inconclusive before? What exactly did they test you for with celiac? Were you on a gluten-free diet when the new tests came back normal from the other doctor? If you were attempting a gluten free diet leading up to that then it is possible it can screw up the test results. Is this new GI knowledgeable about celiac? The other one...
  12. Wow thanks for that list celiac3270
  13. No, modified food starch can contain wheat and you should call about...it is not an ingredient that is ok if made in the US. Modified corn starch is ok but if the label does not specify or just says modified food starch call to verify! As you know with companies like Kraft that would be ok as long as it doesn't say wheat, rye, barley, or oats on the label...

I for one have more energy since being gluten free. I was barely able to do anything before I would get tired so easily and sleep whenever I could. I played sports then too and the weekends that I would play I would pay for the next week when I couldn't do hardly a thing. I can now do those things without feeling run out. I think some people don't get enough...
  18. Vomiting is a symptom of celiac. There are 200+ symptoms with celiac and everybody's bodies are different so many people have different symptoms. 20. Well I was always healthy growing up and when I got mono I got symptoms from there all the sudden that never went away until going gluten free. Things like surgeries, stress, childbirth, and things like mono can trigger celiac to start up in your body and that could have been a reason your symptoms just started it could have been triggered by something. When...
  21. I e-mailed GeniSoy to ask that question but I have not heard back from them yet. I also called them and they asked for my email to send a complete list of their gluten free products and its been close to a week and they still haven't sent me that either.
  22. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 I would suggest print out these lists. There is a list for safe foods for celiacs and then forbidden foods. Brands like Kraft will not hide gluten in their ingredients. It will say on the label if it contains wheat, rye, barley, oats. There are quite a few brands that do that here in the US. There...
  23. celiac3270- don't apologize it's a good thing that you have been gaining weight. Even though months ago I got back to a normal weight I am still gaining weight too which is fine with me I could use a few more. Always share stuff here its the place to do it.

Of course there is always a risk of cross contamination everywhere you eat out so yes you must be careful but I consider McD alot better then other fast food places and restaurants.... celiac...
  25. Welcome to the board! Going gluten free will work. Don't expect to get better overnight though unfortunately. It takes time for your body to heal. It took me 3 months to get to 85% and then another few months to get to normal again. Your symptoms are some of what can come with celiac. There are 200+ symptoms that can come with celiac and some people don't...
