    How long have you been attempting to be gluten free? If you were gluten free for even a small amount of time that can interfere with test results for celiac.

    Stay on the diet. Even though you do not have a main celiac gene, you at least have a gluten intolerance which can turn into celiac if the diet is ignored even without a celiac gene. Gluten has obviously caused damage so stick to the diet.

    If there is minimal intestinal damage then it is possible there is not malabsorption yet because the rest of the intestines are compensating for the damaged part. The tTG is specific for damage(even in small amounts) that a biopsy may not detect.

    tTG is not specific for gluten sensitivity it is specific for damage in the intestines. This is the best blood test for celiac and is taking the place of biopsies at least in kids for diagnosis in the very near future.     Some people get no symptoms at all with celiac. Symptoms determine nothing when it comes to celiac. It varies from person to person but symptoms or not if you have celiac you are causing damage.

    Took me about 8 months to feel normal but I felt quite a bit better after the 3rd month. If you feel some better then that should be encouraging. If it has gone years and years with accumulating damage then for some people it can take a few years to really get back to normal.

    Shampoo easily can get into your mouth when washing your hair. If you have gluten in your hair, touch your hair subconsciously then touch your food then there could be traces.
