  1. First, going gluten free would alter test results so were you gluten free at the time of testing and well before? Second, the IgG testing is not enough to rule out celiac. You have to get a complete panel done. The fact is that the IgG is the least accurate of the tests. Third, even with gluten intolerance you need to be gluten free for life...there...
  2. Why can't you just add raisins to the shredded wheat then?
  3. 2-3 slices a day for 3 months is recommended as Tiffany said. I would say do something other than Cheerios though because that is mainly oats and even though they are contaminated they may not have as much gluten in it as you would need.
  4. Old El Paso is a brand that will clearly list wheat, rye, barley, oats right on the label or it will be ok.
  5. All Clearasil products are gluten free.
  6. Some of them may be but alot I have seen are not. My cousins who went through a Hurricane down there last year were provided with MRE's and they brought some up here with them and I read the label and pretty much everything had wheat in it. There could be some but I wouldn't expect it. Be safe down there helping
  7. In some cases it might not come back accurate if she has been gluten free though. It just all depends..you have to weigh in the factors and how high the resuts would have been before. If they would have been low then being gluten free may have altered them to become normal. With blood test and biopsies it is essential to be on gluten way before testing. With...
  8. I eat healthier and am more aware of what I put in my body. I have a better understanding of what people go through and know not to take my health forgranted like I used to. The list could really go on for a while. There have been way more positives than negatives in my case.
  9. 2 of my comfort foods are Jello and Mashed Potatoes
  10. Altoids is a Kraft brand and will list wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label if it contains any.
  11. It's not a problem it happens all the time. I can put it in the section you would like where you think you would get more responses. I also put the link where to respond on that other one.
  12. Try hitting refresh on your computer if you can't see it. Usually I can see when someone changes it but if it doesn't once I hit refresh it has worked for me. She's so cute
  13. Being gluten free before testing can screw up results. So yes, 1.5 months gluten free would interfere. It also depends how high the results would have been...say it was in beginning stages and was weakly in the blood...then that amount of time probably would have lowered it to the point it would not be detected.
  14. 1)Some soy sauces are gluten free...it means you need a gluten free version obviously. 2)Modified corn starch is ok...modified food starch can be questionable. 3)Some marshmallows are gluten free(Kraft brand) 1)dextrin can be questionable 2)I don't think I have found a mayo that is not gluten free 3)check the labels on cheese...some does contain gluten...
  15. Maltodextrin in food(medication is excluded) is safe in the US unless otherwise stated on the label. This is a law they must follow. As far as safe brands are concerned...they are ones that will not hide any wheat, rye, barley, oats under anything even otherwise questionable. So you just have to read the label with those brands, no need to call because...
  16. Those barium series are not good for detecting celiac. You need to first get a complete blood panel for celiac which includes the following: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA Sounds like celiac could be a possibility.
  17. Yep, products you use around your hands and face need to be gluten free because they have very high chances of getting traces into your food and mouth. Hair products, cosmetics, soaps, lotions, etc all need to be checked.
  18. The tTG test is pretty accurate. Were you all on gluten before testing? If you were gluten free then that can really screw up tests.
  19. The Bath & Body products I had checked on before were not gluten free. Some may be though...only talked to them about some products.
  20. They are talking about the part you have to lick to close it....glues and some adhesives can have gluten in it so thats why.
  21. For an endoscopy its the same as blood tests and you NEED to be on gluten for a while before getting it done. Biopsies are already hit or miss and a negative one can't rule celiac out anyway but if you are gluten free or just eat some before testing that would be just useless.
  22. I didn't know that it was also known as maltase- but to my belief that is ok... bad name huh?
  23. Yes, mine do say malt diastase on the label and they guaranteed it was free of gluten when we called to. I think I will call and ask specifically about that though. The chips could be a possibility from a gluten standpoint or if there is something else in them you are sensitive too.
  24. I use that brand too....and they are gluten free from the info I have found out.
  25. According to the Delphi list the following are gluten free: Dawn Dish (Proctor & Gamble) Dawn Complete, Dawn, Dawn Ultra Proctor & Gamble Laundry Detergents (All varieties of: Tide, Era, Gain, Bold, Cheer, Dreft, Ivory Snow)
