But Andrew, green is the favored color in Wheatland, and also Wheat
  3. Kristen, A "mildly positive" test result is like "a little bit pregnant." If it was positive, then it's 100% positive. I would call and ask for the results and post them here. The "experts" can tell you if you should go gluten free. If you need to have another test to prove it to yourself so that you can stick to the diet, then go ahead with an endoscopy...
  4. IMHO, it doesn't matter. The answer either way is a lifelong gluten free diet.
  5. I take Lactaid before I have dairy. It seems to prevent the unpleasant gas that results.
  6. My guess would be some seconary food intolerance. Have you added anything new to your diet to replace the things you can no longer have? A food journal is a great idea. Start with a very limited number of foods that you know are safe, then expand from there, adding a new food no more often than 4 days. You should be able to figure it out. There's an awful...
  7. Nope, not the ear lobe, the little part that sticks out closest to my head across from my jawbone on the inside of the ear. I am thinking maybe this is some kind of tinnutis?
  8. I woke up with the sniffles and coughing today, so I made some Mom's Penicillin: Chicken soup! I made homemade broth: chicken breasts, carrots, onions, celery, salt and pepper Then I shredded the chicken and took out the chunks of veggies, and added chopped carrots, onions, celery and turnips. Once the veggies were done, I added Quinoa macaroni. It...
  9. anyone? Or is this yet another of my unexplained medical mysteries?
  10. I am getting periodic bouts of weirdness. It's almost like I can feel my pulse in my ear, but only in my left, and it's not quite like a pulse, but pounding. It's only in the little curvy thing that sticks out of the bottom of the ear. It's very hard to describe, but very annoying! It starts, lasts about 5 seconds, goes away for a minute or so, them...
  11. Let me guess: sister city of Wheat, Tennessee?
  12. woohoo! I've been staring at that ham for months wondering about it. Black eyed pea, here I come You can take the girl out of Georgia, but you can't take the Georgia out of the girl I might even throw in some turnip greens
  13. I have a bunch of this in my freezer. I emailed Smithfield, but haven't heard back yet, and want to cook some up with some black eyed peas for New Year good luck. The only questionable ingredient I see is smoke flavoring. Anyone know for sure if it's safe?
  14. I see you're in CA. Henry's, Sprouts, Mothers Market and Whole Foods all have it. Sometimes Pavillions and Gelsons will have it too. What are you making?
  15. I understand. I was the Queen of the Foodies. Loved to cook and create things, but most of the joy has been sucked out of cooking and food because there are so many things I can't eat. Here's waht is important: your health and feeling better! Most intolerances will go away if you take are of yourself and avoid those things that bother you. Iknow it...
  16. There's an Outback about 2 blocks south of Disneyland on Harbor
  17. OK, so if you stick with those few foods, do your symptoms clear up? Or have you not had a long period of sticking with only safe foods?
  18. Thanks! Iguess I am getting more sensitive. This was just cc, and it was bad I slept most of the day yesterday, and am hopeful I can stay up to ring in 2010! Happy New Year All!
  19. Jason, What foods are your sure are ok for you? Can you tell I am stubborn?
  20. Quite frankly, I would tell your doctor to go pound sand Either way, whichever it is, the fix is still a gluten free diet, so what would be the point?
  21. Hi all, I got glutened about a week ago. It took 3 days for the D to pass, and I just realized I am probably so tired because of the glutening. I've been sleeping well, eating right, etc, and I've been dog tired since that glutening. This is my first "real" glutening and I must say I hope it never happens again! What am I looking at? Couple of weeks...
  22. Evidently, there are some hempseed powders that might work. It would have more fat than pea powder. Can you tolerate coconut? You could make smoothies out of coconut milk and fruit. You can also get coconut milk yogurt at Whole Foods or Mothers Market. It 's pretty tasty. You can also make some great simple sauces to liven up that plain piece of chicken...
  23. Hmmmm, all the troubles started when you started the antifungal treatment? Are you still taking the threelac? My GI said it had to be treated with antifungals like nystatin and diflucan. It actually showed up in an upper endo. Hopefully you will get some answers when you get your results. I felt really bad until I went through many months of Diflucan...
  24. Jason, Are uyou still being treated for Candida? It's a tricky one to get rid of. did the doc check for candida in the endoscopy? Before I was dx with Celiac, I had a big gigantic fungal infection of the entire GI tract. I had to take antifungals (Diflucan) for darned near 6months before my GI symptoms improved. Are you taking some acid blockers like...
  25. We love Skippy Natural PB. My son and I are getting more sensitive by the day, and have no issues with Skippy. We have both reacted to both Stater Bros and Ralphs store brands,
