  1. Ditto on using Livestrong.com for the daily plate. Makes you aware of every calorie!
  2. I found that I had to INSIST that my doc check my vitamin levels. I wouldn't take no for an answer. Scream and Yell if you need to. You're the only one looking out for you, and it is supposed to be standard procedure to check Celiacs for these deficiencies.
  3. Looks positive to me. Have your B12 checked for the tingling, and iron for the jumpy legs. Make sure they check Ferritin levels. Most of us have these deficiencies.
  4. I had very similar symptoms when I had gallstones. Foods that really bothered me: pizza, peanut butter, mozzarella cheese, fried foods. Might want to check!
  5. Heinz Cream soups are gluten-free too.
  6. I had the same problem. I was crazy skinny, then BAM here came the weight with gluten-free. I kept gaining and gaining, even though I was eating whole, low cal, grain free and exercising like a dog. My doctor said that my body is just grabbing onto everything, thinking it is going to starve again. So, I started a high intensity kettlebell class 3 weeks...
  7. Very cool, Jennifer! Thanks for sharing! This makes up for all those inconsiderate FAMILY members that have been posted about. You are a lucky girl!!
  8. Have you had your gallbladder checked?
  9. Nancy, Yay! I am so glad you like it! I knew you would think it's yu......er.... Delicious! Janie
  10. I love them both, but I think I like the whole grain better. The loaves I just got are a bit bigger for sandwiches.
  11. I bought some at an Asian market. Do you have one nearby?
  12. Alphawave, This is interesting about magnesium. I stopped taking it because my blood levels were normal. Do you have any links to any articles on this? Thanks!
  13. I felt bad for making a funny, but Icouldn't resist I found this on Entrerolabs FAQ: DQ2 is present in 31% of the general American population. DQ8 (without DQ2) is present in another 12%. Thus, the main celiac genes are present in 43% of Americans. Include DQ1 (without DQ2 or DQ8), which is present in another 38%, yields the fact that at least 81...
  14. Does that come with a costume? With a big "C" on the chest? I don't have any idea, but I couldn't resist the urge
  15. Shelby, I am sorry your not feeling well. Isn't "mild celiac" like a "little bit pregnant?" I am not a doctor, but I think you either have it or you don't. Have you checked everything for gluten? Cosmetics, lotions, soaps, toothpaste, etc? You may be still reacting because you are getting gluten this way. Also, have you done an elimination diet...
  16. That really stinks. I hope you feel better soon! Cramps are the pits
  17. I am not certain, but this sounds a bit like gluten ataxia. Put that in the search engine on the site. There are lots of posts on it. I guess it is pretty common to develop neuro issues after going gluten-free. I did, with neuropathy. I never had it before I started the diet. Doesn't make sense to me, but many others have noticed the same thing.
  18. Wouldn't she be willing to cook the stuffing on the side, instead of in the bird? We called it dressing in the South
  19. At a minimum, IGA, IGG, TTG, Ferritin, B12, Vit D.
  20. Where do you find Against the Grain?
  21. I have not. Are they soft and squishy? I am cringing at paying another $6 for 4 disgusting buns. Squishy is his main requirement
  22. IGA, IGG, tissue transglutamase are the tests in the celiac panel. If you had vitamin defiencies, you should test those too, especially ferritin and B12.
  23. I think I just gined 10 pounds reading your post . It sounds amazing!
  24. e Ok, so realizing that different people have different sensitivities, some will work for you, ignore the the others: Breakfast gluten-free rice cakes with nut butter/yogurt/apple butter omelettes full of veggies scrambled eggs with Udi's toast fresh fruit sprinkled with nuts yogurt- also comes in soy milk and coconut milk, topped with fruit and sliced...
