  1. Does anyone know of a product that is like Cheezits or Goldfish crackers? My DS loves them and misses them. He likes the Glutino that are like Ritz, but I cant find the kind he likes. We've tried the nut thins and rice crackers and he does not care for them. Thanks for the help! I will not go as far as baking our own, so no recipes please! Single...
  2. We will give it a try! Thanks!
  3. I think maybe adding some xantham gum. 1 tsp per cup of flour might work. They look great!
  4. I struggled constantly trying to gain weight before going gluten-free. Then my body went completely haywire and I started gaining, out of control gaining, while on a low calorie, whole food diet and exercising like a dog. Now, at 4 months gluten-free and doing daily Kettlebell classes, I've stopped gaining, THANK GOD I still eat low calorie, whole...
  5. I googled Biotene is your pick! Open Original Shared Link gluten and lactose free! Read some terrible things about Poligrip- stay away from that stuff, for sure!
  6. Nancy, I am sooo glad you found something you like! YAY! Have you tried Udi's breads yet? I think you might like them......
  7. THanks Georgie! GReat resource!
  8. You too! Feel well!
  9. I was wrongly diagnosed with Lupus 10 years ago. Turned out it was Celiac all along. Prednison became my best friend, as long as I didnt take it longer than 5 days. It took away all my pain when it was bad. But i agree with Nancy, its a bad drug when not used very judiciously. Always taper off, and only take it when you absolutely have to.
  10. Oh darn! Why couldn't they make a shot for that?
  11. THe nurse told me it was only B12 in the shot. I take Aciphex for GERD. I was down to only taking it only every three days, until I had to start the Ferrex. It gives me terrible heartburn, so I had to go back to taking it daily. I have checked out some of the sites. Thanks everyone for your help! I wonder if maybe the neuropathy is worse these last...
  12. Yes, it is gluten-free, I had the pharmacist check before I filled it.
  13. Can you take the 8000 all at once or does it need to be spaced out?
  14. The first couple of months are hard. I promise it gets better. I've been gluten-free for 5 months and it's gotten MUCH better. Remember, it took a long time to mess up your intestines, and it will be ahwile There will be ups and downs, but soon, more ups than downs. It's frustrating I know! I thought "AHA they know what's wrong with me, now I will be...
  15. Oh, Yay, another autoimmune disease! So now I have this too, but hey, it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, right So my iron and B12 are low and I have neuropathy. I started sublingual B12 1000mcg about 2 months ago. I started prescription Ferrex about 2 weeks ago. When I started the Ferrex, I started taking 2000mcg B12, and got...
  16. Blood tests are frequently false negative. Be sure to stay on gluten until you have the endo, and make sure they take at least 6 samples. Sounds like Celiac to me. Welcome!
  17. I think risottos are a good safe choice. They can be made vegan and gluten free. Butternut squash risotto, pea, lots of choices. Thank you so much for wanting to accomodate! Many chefs throw up their hands. We appreciate your efforts!
  18. I think cornstarch would make it a bit gloppy. I use rice flour, mix into a paste with water, then stir that in. It will make it "fuller" and not so gelatinous.
  19. There are almost never false positive blood tests. Your endo was negative because you were off gluten. Doctors can't believe that they don't "see" If you feel better off gluten, combined with a postive blood test, you have your answer!
  20. I live in HB, and MM is on Beach Blvd. They've been giving me a hard time, then I pointed out that they already carry Udi's granola, and they lightened up a bit. Whole Foods on Jamboree has half a case of Udis white and multi grain in their freezer in the bakery section right now. I just picked some up on Sat! Sue Matthis as WF will order anythinig you...
  21. That stinks When I was about 6 years old, we had a German Shephard named Sam. My Mom slaved all day on Thanksgiving for dinner for about 30 people. The turkey was at least 23 pounds and beautifully browned. My Mom put it on the counter to cool. All of a sudden we heard a slo mo "Nooooooooooooooooooooo!" Sam ate the turkey Sam went to live ...
  22. THanks for sharing! I will give this a try! For bread, you must try Udis! Delish!
  23. If your whole Foods doesn't carry it yet, ask for the manager when you are there, or email and ask them to special order it. Mine does that, and will be carrying it full time after my third special order. I am working on getting Mother's Market to carry it, but no luck yet. I will wear them down soon, I am sure. TJ's basically said no way I just...
  24. My son thanks you! Z Pizza just doesn't cut it for him. We will definitely try it! Have you tried Au Lac in Fountain Valley? They have a Raw menu that is 100% gluten-free, and oh so delicious. And i am a confirmed carnivore, and it's still fabulous!
  25. Thanks for the sympathy Adding insult to injury, I have some intolerance issues with broccoli and cauliflower, and lunch was $65! I definitely like the pumpkin cheesecake idea I might just have to try that. As for writing letters, can't do that. Political suicide because of my job, but thanks for the tips. I am usually so good about sucking it...
