ARCHIVED Tooth Enamel Question
twe0708 replied to scottyg354's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had white spots like that on my teeth when I was younger (17) and had my braces removed. My mom had the two teeth with the problem bonded and they look great now (41 now). Was dx with Celiac at age 39. -
Ground turkey (not ground turkey breast) with McCormicks taco seasoning Tomatoes, cheese, salsa and or guacamole with corn tortillas heated in the microwave or corn tortilla chips. I always have extras left and take it for lunch the next day. You can also fry the corn tortillas and make tacos that way too. We also started using all od the above ingredients...

ARCHIVED My First Visit With A Gi Doc
twe0708 replied to bridgeofsighs's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have to say I just went to a new GI this past week and when I told him about this site he pretty much said you can't believe everything you read because everyone seems to blame all of their health problems on Celiac Disease. I think with this site and all of us sharing our stories helps us more than a doctor can. Yes, we still need our GIs for certain things... -
Does anyone have a problem with bloating after working out?

ARCHIVED Hypoglycemia And Gluten Free Anyone?
twe0708 replied to maelenebaby's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with the post before mine. As long as I have protein with my carbs I do fine. I always carry almond with me and it helps. I also have a tendency to over do it on sugar, but as soon as I eat some almonds it helps balance me out. -
Open Original Shared Link Actually you may want to be careful about eating here. Just called the restaurant and the supervisor was very short. I was trying to find out if the shredded cheese and tomatoes they use for the regular menu items were the same they use for the gluten free items, and the guy told me they would change their gloves. I started...

ARCHIVED Oxygen Levels And Dapsone And Dh
twe0708 replied to bllamb47's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Thanks for the information on Mango's. I am going to buy some today and give them a try. -
I have been to the one in Tampa, FL and have been hit twice out of probably 8 times. Each time I had the lettuce wraps and beef broccoli or broccoli beef (always get it mixed up.) Usually have D about an hour after eating and then fine as far as I know. Still hurting me inside but I can't tell.

ARCHIVED Entrolab Testing
twe0708 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Do you recommend it? I already know I have Celiac Disease, so I am just trying to figure out if I have any other allergies. Is it better to go to an allergist or can I benefit more from Entrolab Testing. I was dx with microscopic colitis but I don't have chronic diarrhea, just loose stools, so really not sure if taking Entocort is the answer, especially... -
Good to know. Thanks for all the information!

ARCHIVED Ana Test (autoantibody Tests): Are Celiacs Positive?
twe0708 replied to Cheret's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So just curios for those who test positive, how often do you have blood work done to make sure everything is still in order? -

What happened to the old search bar and why can't you search past topics by typing in certain words. I know microscopic colitis has been discussed before but when I type it in to the new search bar up above it comes up with nothing.

I was told over a year ago I have microscopic colitis. Not sure why the doctor didn't treat me for it, but a new doctor I went to see today gave me a prescription for Entocort 3MG - 3 capsules in the morning for 30 days. Has anyone else been treated for this and did they use this medicine? I need to add that I don't have D or problems with being constipated...

I tried that about 8 months of being gluten free by eating a donut and within an hour I had the worst flu like symptoms for the next 3 hours (vomiting/diarrhea) and in bed for another 2 hours. It made me so sick I would never do it again. I have been hit hard twice again on top of the first time and I still don't understand how it hits me so hard vs how...

ARCHIVED Oxygen Levels And Dapsone And Dh
twe0708 replied to bllamb47's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I just found out my oxygen levels are low too and I have been experiencing a little tingling in my feet when I touch them. I am not on any special meds but wondering what could help bring my oxygen levels back up. No other illnesses except celiac. -
ARCHIVED Breakfast Restaurants...
twe0708 replied to sickoftummyaches's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Wow, those strips are expensive. So say you test a certain food item and find that it doesn't contain wheat. Do you test that every time you eat it or buy that product? Because what happens if the food manufacturer changes it process? I read on another post that someone found traces of wheat in vinegar? Anyone else have a problem with vinegar? -
What great timing! Today I went to downtown St. Pete and had lunch from a place that said gluten free - vegan and organic foods. I ordered lunch and asked at least three time about gluten and how I would get sick. The guy said "oh no, I wouldn't want to get sick and wouldn't want to get others sick". I was really sick an hour later! With me it's like...

ARCHIVED Sugar A Problem ?
twe0708 replied to IrishHeart's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I get that way too if my meal contains too many carbs. I try to stick to a meal with mostly protein. Its really hard bc I love sweets and when I consume too many sweets or carbs I get shaky and feel my heart racing. I keep almonds or pistachios in my bag and grab a handful when I start to feel jittery. The instant protein balances me out within a few minutes... -
ARCHIVED Lemon Water
twe0708 replied to twe0708's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
No, I am not talking about the water detox. Just starting the day off with a glass of lemon water. I am still eating food. Just heard it's good for the body - acne, organs, etc. My daughter is trying it for her acne and we know to rinse our mouth to help protect our enamel. I will update later on how it's working. -
ARCHIVED Lemon Water
twe0708 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Does anyone drink lemon water daily? I was just reading how it cleanses the body, helps with acne, helps you lose weight, etc. I am more interested in the cleansing and wondering what others thoughts are who drink this daily. I know it's bad for the teeth, so if you do try this I have read that you should use a straw and rinse your mouth with water after... -
ARCHIVED Low Carbon Dioxide Test
twe0708 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Had a low carbon dioxide test come back. Anyone else have this problem? -
ARCHIVED Hypoglycemia And Gluten Intolerance
twe0708 replied to hanumandrea's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have problems if I don't eat enough protein with a meal. As long as I have protein I am fine. I always keep a bag of almonds on-hand in case I get shaky and it makes a big difference. -
