ARCHIVED Gluten Or Flu
Tigercat17 replied to adab8ca's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. I second what Lisa said. I really suspect this is a gluten reaction. When we remove gluten from our diets we become more sensitive to it and sometimes start to have different reactions. I would double check everything -vitamins, beauty products, mouth wash, gluten free processed foods and medicines. A food journal is so... -
ARCHIVED Questions, Questions, Question!
Tigercat17 replied to staci002's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Staci and Welcome to the forum! I'm so glad you're feeling better! Sometimes someone can still have celiac disease and both the blood work and biopsies can be false negatives. The second time I had blood work I had a false negative, but lucky for me I had a positive for the first time and a positive biopsy. Unfortunately it's very common and the blood... -
ARCHIVED Frustrated, I Give Up!
Tigercat17 replied to Dee777's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Dee, I so understand what you're going through. This disease is hard to deal with sometimes and we often have set backs, but that's all it is is a set back and it will be over soon. As we remove gluten from our diets, most of us become more sensitive to it and since your pretty new to the diet, I'm guessing that your intestines aren't healed yet.... -
ARCHIVED New Armour Thyroid And Synthroid Contain Gluten!
Tigercat17 replied to Angelnoir1111's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes, mamaw. His name is doctor Steven Hodak, my Endo doctor at the Falk Clinic in Oakland. He really is amazing! He called the companies himself and changed me to Levoxyl from King Pharm. since I wasn't getting any better on the gluten free diet for those first three months. He really listened to me and his nurses are so understanding. They helped me so much... -
ARCHIVED New Armour Thyroid And Synthroid Contain Gluten!
Tigercat17 replied to Angelnoir1111's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Whenever someone talks about Synthroid, I always have to share my story... I know I was getting some CC of gluten from the brand name Synthroid (Abbott) last year. I was on Synthroid for my first three months of being gluten free and I didn't get any better at all. I called the Abbott company twice & they told me the same thing - "They didn't add... -
One A Day Womens Vitamin
Tigercat17 replied to snifter's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It looks like the link is broken. When I clicked on the FAQ's there was a gluten statement there. It pretty much said that even though they don't put gluten in the vitamins, they can't guarantee about cross contamination. I would just call then if your still unsure. -
ARCHIVED Is Percocet Gluten Free?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
HI BillyJ, Thanks so much! You are so kind! Do you know the name of the company that your pharmacy uses for the generic Percocet that you used? I heard there are quite a few. I called my pharmacy and the company they use is Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. The pharmacy said they called them and the rep told them that they don't put gluten in there percocet... -
Please, don't worry at all. I was so afraid, too. But they give you really good drugs and Believe me - you won't feel a thing. After I had my upper endoscopy I felt kind of foolish for being so afraid. It was really nothing to be afraid about. Good Luck and enjoy the good meds they give you! I hope you're feeling better soon!

ARCHIVED Is Percocet Gluten Free?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks Ginny! You are so sweet! I need all the prayers I can get! I just wanted to tell you all I did call the Endo Pharmaceutical company yesterday. They make the brand name Percocet. The rep did tell me that they don't add gluten to the product, but they couldn't confirm wither the product is made on shared lines or not and more less couldn't guarantee... -

ARCHIVED Is Percocet Gluten Free?
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks Ginny, I did see that, but I just wondered if anyone had any recent information. Sometimes I don't trust the glutenfreedrugs.com. Anyway, seems like I was wrong about me being hyperthyroid when I posted bout it 4 weeks ago. My endo lowered my dose, but I still was having night sweats, low grad night fevers, abdominal and back tenderness... -
ARCHIVED Is Percocet Gluten Free?
Tigercat17 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi everyone, Does anyone know if the brand name of Percocet is gluten free? Or even the generic form? I'm having a hard time finding out who the manufacturer of the generic form is. Anyone know? I'm having surgery on Monday, so I just want to be prepared. Thanks you all! -

ARCHIVED Antibodies Are Down!
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks so much IrishHeart!!! Hopefully you'll hear the good news soon, too! I was a little nervous going to P.F. Chang's, but the food was so good and the waiter was very knowledgeable about gluten. He made me feel a little better. And so far so good! I don't have any reactions. I don't think I got any CC, so it will be another place that I can add... -
ARCHIVED Mouthwash Has Gluten In It
Tigercat17 replied to iamsarar's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh no -I have some older bottles. I wonder if it's the same for them? I haven't been using them in a while. Mouthwash really bothers my throat anyway. Looks like I'll have to make more calls on Monday. That is such a bummer! -

Hi Chili, Thanks so much! I just almost can't believe it! Oh and believe me I know all about the stress! I think we all do. It's so nice to have this forum. ARCHIVED Antibodies Are Down!
Tigercat17 replied to Tigercat17's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks Ravenwoodglass! That's a Great idea! I think I might go to P.F. Chang's for dinner this weekend! I've heard so many great things about them and it's a place I used to eat at often before I went gluten free. I've learned how to make their lettuce wraps at home. They're good, but they don't tastes exactly the same. Having the Real ones will be such... -
Hi everyone, I'm looking into changing my Primary Care Physician (PCP). Does anyone know of a good regular doctor who is also educated about celiac disease in the Pittsburgh, PA area? Or am I asking for too much? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share the good news! I just got back my results on my Tissue Tranglutaminase IgA blood work. Finally they are down to 18! I know it could be a little lower, but this is the lowest it has been for me since going gluten free 18 months ago! Eating gluten free is so much hard work! I feel like I should be rewarded or at least... -

ARCHIVED Mouthwash Has Gluten In It
Tigercat17 replied to iamsarar's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Cassp, Yeah, I just called them again this morning to make sure I heard it correctly. The rep told me that all of the Crest Pro-Health rinses may contain trace amounts of gluten. I was shocked, too. I threw mine out last week. -
ARCHIVED Mouthwash Has Gluten In It
Tigercat17 replied to iamsarar's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just a heads up! I just called Crest last Friday and two of their mouth washes have traces of gluten in them. It's the Pro Rinse varieties. Lisa, I thought the same thing and I bought Crest Pro Rinse about six months ago. Then I just called this week to confirm that the Crest 3D vivid toothpaste was gluten free because I was having strange symptoms. The rep...
