  1. Hi Chili, I know you're not crazy. I wonder if the guy you talked to just gave you the wrong information. I did call GNC again today and asked about the Chromium and Boron. They said they are both bonded with rice protein. I did stop taking these for a few days, but I feel no different and I just had my thyroid, celiac and all my vitamin levels checked...
  2. Thanks GlutenGladi8or! I started the fish oil about two months ago when you first told me about it. Thank-you! I take GNC Triple Strength 900mg. I also take the GNC Women's Ultra Mega -Active. And I stayed with some of the Vitafusion gummy vitamins -calcium/vit. D and vitamin C and Slow Fe Iron. I also started the Kirkman Folic acid 400 mg.
  3. Hi Chili, I just called GNC a second time. They told me there is no barley grass in GNC Women's Ultra Mega -Active vitamins and there is no chance of cross contamination. They do have gluten in the facility, but it's made on different lines. I know I did really good one these vitamins with the first bottle I bought, but now I'm on a second bottle and...
  4. I've been to a few wedding since going gluten free. I don't take any chances when it comes to eating at weddings. There's just too busy and the risk for CC is way too high. It's just not worth it to me. I usually treat myself to one of my favorite meals like a good steak for lunch. That way I don't have "food envy" during the wedding. Then I'll bring...
  5. Do you mean the GNC ultra vitamins have barley grass in them??? I thought they were safe? I even called GNC. I have to call them again. I hate these companies...
  6. I take Vitafusion Gummies calcium/vitamin D and vitamin C. They also have a multi vitamin, but I take GNC Ultra Womens active multi vitamin. I know they are all good brand names and they're gluten free. I know vitamins can be tricky. I got glutened on vitamins in the begining, also, but I never had any problems with Vitafusion or these GNC vitamins. Vitafusion...
  7. Sorry to hear the bad news, Kim. That was nice that your doctor ordered the bloodwork for you again. As for the vitamins, some companies may not list the barley grass in the ingredients and it may have it in them anyway or they might just be made on shared lines and getting cross containments. I would call the company again and ask these questions...
  8. Oh believe me, I know all about that "racy" feeling. Keep us posted about your next appointment! I know doctors are clueless. Sometimes I feel like I'm the one educating my endo doctor about celiac disease. Hopefully you won't need the meds at all!
  9. I'm so happy that you didn't need thyroid meds, Patti! Sounds like they caught the celiac right before you started having problems with your thyroid! It's amazing what a gluten free diet can do!
  10. Wow - Thanks so much for sharing! I do feel like I'm going crazy sometimes. My doctors had no idea that my dosage would need to be lowered as much as it had to in the last 18 months. At least there are people who understand what I'm going through. I really wish they didn't have to keep my levels so exact. I know it's for my own good, but being hyper every...
  11. Hi everyone! In the last 18 months of being gluten free I had to lower my thyroid meds to almost half the amount I was taking before being gluten free. Can anyone else relate to this? I keep getting hyperthyroid. I'm actually hyperthyroid right now - joy -joy! I've been on thyroid medicine for about eleven years before being diagnosed with celiac...
  12. What a Great topic! I still consider myself a newbie (18 months gluten free), but I've learned the hard way that I can't eat a lot of processed foods and I'm wondering if I do have a corn sensitivity also. I'm still working on that one... Giant Eagle (fresh) Chicken, Beef and Pork. Fresh veggies and fruit Filippo Berio Olive Oils Walmart ...
  13. Opps! Sorry - I think I goofed up my reply. It seems like your iron saturation is a little low. I had mine checked back in August and it was 23. I was feeling a little tried, also. My doctor reccommended me to start taking iron supplements again and all of the triedness went away along with the easy brusing. The next time you get bloodwork and it's...
  14. Hi Katrina! I used to be the biggest processing food queen before going gluten free, so it was a big adjustment for me to change my ways. It really is a huge lifestyle change, but it's so worth it. Here are a few vitamins that I'm taking. I'm doing really good on them. GNC Ultra Women's Active Multi vitamin - I know you could buy these...
  15. If some of your symptoms are coming back I think it could mean you might be getting a little gluten somewhere. Sounds like your body is trying to tell you something. We tend to get more sensitive to gluten when it's out of our diets for a while. You might be getting trace amounts and not know it. I would recheck all your vitamins (vitamins could have barley...
  16. Just a thought... did you check your disinfectant? I used to use one before going gluten free, but now I just used a clean wash clothe with dawn detergent, since I know it's gluten free. I just thought of this when I went to make some breakfast for myself this morning.
  17. Hi Kim, Just like ravenwoodglass said, yes I think there was some barley grass in my vitamins or just cross contamination of gluten. They can add barley grass in vitamins and still call them gluten free. And they said Gluten Free right on the bottle, too. My reactions were mild, but I knew I really didn't feel 100% either. And I even called these companies...
  18. Hi Kim, Have you been getting your blood work done at the same lab? It's really important to stick to the same one since labs have a different kits for testing the TTG. It just seems abnormally high that I wonder if it's just an error... maybe? I actually had a false negative the second time I had my TTG tested. I went to a different lab that time. It...
  19. You're very welcome about the Centrum tips... and thanks for the profile pic comment. Your's is great as well! Nice to meet you!

  20. HI Emma-Lee! Everyone is absolutely right and there is no need to worry. You are actually going to be healthier than you were before and you'll be able to give your baby the proper nutrients it will need to grow. I've had unexplained infertility for the last 16 years, but I was just diagnosed with celiac about a year and a half ago. My doctors recommended...
  21. Here are some of the vitamins I take. And my nails are looking fabulous! GNC Ultra Women's Active Multi vitamin Vitafusion Gummy Vitamins - Vitamin C 250 (Target has this brand or you could buy them on-line) Vitafusion Gummy Vitamins - Calcium 500 with vitamin D 1,000
  22. I had allergy shots for three years before I was diagnosed with celiac. I actually started to feel worse. My allergies got so bad that I Really didn't want to leave the house especially in the fall and spring. And it wasn't like that before. My doctor at the time had me on so much allergy medicine it was crazy. He then diagnosed me with asthma. It seemed...
  23. Where are you located? I'm north of the zoo. There's a meetup group for Pittsburgh. You should join if you haven't already. :)

  24. Hi IrishHeart! Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to this yesterday. I'm so glad you figured this out on your own and pushed forward! I can't tell you how many doctors I went through in the last twenty years ... Clueless! And yes, you will get better! It's more work, more cooking and more preparing, but it's so worth it to feel good! I can...
