  1. What is a TMJ and MT?? Sorry - still catching up on the jargon!
  2. I get jaw pain when the GERD is really bad, So for me Jaw pain is very much related to eating gluten:)
  3. Intussusception is by far the worst for me. Last time I started with violently projectile vomiting everything and then bile where I can't get a breath in and then the agonising pain started (very much up there with labour), I ended up in emergency and felt as if I was going to die it lasted about 3 hours from start to finish. Then of course all the other...
  4. Oh dear - we all make mistakes. I was accidentally glutening the whole family for months because I forgot to check one bottle of sauce. We live and learn etc etc. I personally would NOT feel thankful to receive gluten as a gift. But I have also learnt the hard way - that even when someone non gluten free goes to so much trouble to make a lovely gluten-free...
  5. He has a problem with lactose and has done since birth, I thought it was because of the inflammation in the gut but it hasn't gone away even though he has been gluten-free for a year. We took him off dairy for 2 months, but he didn't seem any different that when he was just lactose free iykwim. Haven't tried all the other things yet, I was just trying to...
  6. I forgot about that, if I eat gluten now its enough to put me in ER. The youngest had pretty bad symptoms anyway, but I'm just not sure if its Gluten. To be honest - if he gets suddenly bad and I know its gluten - then I will stop the challenge, I'll be happy to just know if its gluten or not - I am not hell bent on an official diag if it will make him too...
  7. He had an endo in Jan, there was inflammation and increased lymphocytes, but not enough for a diagnosis of anything, he went on nexium and started a gluten-free diet and has improved but there are still problems with his stool, so we are not sure if its celiac, if the gluten-free diet has stopped the constant vomiting or was it the nexium, or if he has something...
  8. I was just saying in another thread that one my youngest sick child ( I have two others after him) was ill all the time, every little thing and it would always turn bad, infections etc. He had bronchiolits twice before he was 4 months old, I have lost count of the antibiotics, he was diagnosed asthma before he was 2, just sickly sickly, well -he went gluten...
  9. The common ones are Diabetes type 1, hashis, sjogren's, RA, psoriasis, although having said that - it is possible to develop any of them really.
  10. I have the new breville Bakers oven with the gluten free cycle - its brilliant - I love it and make bread all the time!
  11. That was one of mine, ulcers I mean. It is only starting to become noticeably less now, and I ve been gluten-free for almost 12 months - these things take time!
  12. My eldest and middle child both need to do challenges at some point, our specialist said to give my eldest a good year at school, because he missed about half of preschool when he was sick. So keep him gluten-free and we'll try next year. With my younger one (who is 2 and a half) he says we should wait a few years. But I don't want him having a terrible...
  13. My son hasn't been diagnosed as of yet, but he is is gluten free until he does a challenge. And before going gluten free he was sick all the time, it would never be simple either, a cold would turn to infections, he was on antibiotics all the time, diagnosed asthma before he was 2, in and out of hospital for things like bronciolitis which he had twice by...
  14. but di-you have deeks cafe-u lucky thing
  15. what i understand is that it is to stop the autoimmune response, so that would include all symptoms would'nt it? Think i may ring and ask and i'll post their response.
  16. i prefer gravox to massell but to be honest i just make my own with pan juices gluten-free flour n a bit of stock n somwtimes wine...yum. Had the ravioli and bellyhoo pies for the first time the other day....how good is that pastry, yummmoooo
  17. ps-the vaccine is for existing celiacs
  18. personally- i hope it works, i hope they start working on it for dq8 too. I woulnt have it so i could resume a gluten diet, but so that i dont have to worry about contamination anymore. The drs who r working on the vaccine here r passionate about celiac disease, they go all over the country trying to raise awarness and educate the masses on testing for celiac...
  19. i didn't think they were either, but a friend of mine who has 3 celiac kids keeps saying she has the resessive gene???
  20. and how can you tell which you have? The genes stuff really gets me confused!
  21. I find that to be the case even with the best of the best. I always say that you need to go in armed with information - so if he said that to you, you mention the medical sudy from (whatever year) that says the opposite. He can argue with you - a layperson, but he cannot argue with medical science. I had this very thing with my kids Paed GI - best of...
  22. Yes - can be, Alot of Celiac/Intolerant/Sensitive people have joint pain, stiffness, swelling of joints/arthritis directly related to eating gluten. Although- some of us (myeslef) have found out that it wasn't the gluten causing it
  23. I know I have to be gluten-free forever, I guess what I was wondering is how careful I have to be. Is it going to kill me if I accidently eat gluten? I admit - I hate having that hanging over my head. Its not being gluten free - I am used to it - I promise! I don't miss anything gluten really (except pastry) Its just feeling scared about eating that stresses...
  24. I have seen a few people mention that after being gluten free awhile and when your gut has healed that symtpoms aren't as bad as before going gluten free. The last time I ate gluten I really thought I was going to die and ended up in ER that was 6 weeks after going gluten-free. I have been on high alert ever since, I was just thinking though - maybe it...
  25. Thats interesting, surely it depends on a whole range of things? symptoms, family history, other autoimmune disease etc? I haven't had a biopsy, but the Celiac Specialist the other day that he thought it was absolutely Celiac for me- based on my family history, severity of symptoms and other autoimmune diseases, of course - I still wont get an official diagnosis...
