  1. Where do you live love2travel? I used to live in Newfoundland - and I'm from Australia so I think 20 degs c (68F) is chilly - haha. I almost died in Canada. There were days I seriously thought I wouldn't make it!
  2. Yes - its a no no, its still cow milk. So my son is also gluten-free/LF - In australia we have two brands of lactose free yogurt that are easy to come by - or else soy yogurt.
  3. I'm going through the same thing with my youngest - he is 8 months old and I'm too scared to give him any gluten...what a minefield!
  4. But anyhow -back to your original post - your reaction to gluten will likely become more and more severe. Its the way of the world - mine are far worse now than when I was eating it every day. Doh!
  5. I would much rather be gluten free, when I was just lactose free for 3 months I almost didn't make it, I just missed lattes and milk chocolate way too much
  6. Was there any sign of anything?? Inflammation/GERD etc
  7. I have only had one or two mouth ulcers in the year since going gluten free - I usually have several a month - amazing to think isn't it?? These warning signs there for us all to see - but noone (medical) really understands!
  8. I have no idea mate, but sounds similar to what we are going through, DS 2 is gluten free and lactose and isn't vomiting every day anymore - but man - he still has the worst, foul, mucousy huge disgusto poos. I am at a loss, we have cut out everything and reintroduce and nothing seems to change..let me know if you work it out - I'm watching this thread with...
  9. I have severe growing pains and constant gushing nose bleeds as kid as well - every day for two years. And I always had mouth ulcers. Always told it was nothing blah blah. My Rheumy says that those can be early indicators or autoimmune diseases.
  10. Sure - should I put it here or in the recipe section??
  11. Sounds very similar to me, especially the bit as a child throwing up all the time, my mother took me to doctors and they told me I had a 'weak stomach' - when I said that to my kids paed GI he just pissed himself laughing - I had never thought to query it, but apparently there is no such thing as a weak stomach Doh! I didn't work out I had a problem until...
  12. Think I'll do a ham and dijon mustard rice crusted quiche!
  13. Oh goodness - I have no idea how to make my own flour! Sorry! I just use pre bought stuff. Do you have a good brand there? Not sure about the sugar - but did want to say that I've mixed this recipe by and and it still turns out great.
  14. I bought a bread machine with a gluten free setting, I just chuck the whole lot in that. Do you get Orgran flour there?
  15. I got them done, even though my bloods were negative. It helps point me in the right direction a bit - even though they aren't the be all and end all iykwim.
  16. Geez- already this poll is looking pretty scary...and we are the ones who have figured it out - what about all those other people who continue eating Gluten because they are told they are negative...like my cousin - who has been so ill for years but had a negative biopsy and blood but is totally convinced that its not gluten even though his family history...
  17. Its mid summer here:) But my project is to make some quilts for the first time. I need to - we have moved and it gets far colder here than where I am originally from. Its hard to get into the frame of mind of making quilts when its so bleeding hot!
  18. Hi Freeatlast - have you ever had Irish soda bread? Its that kind of texture - so not so much a sandwhich type bread (although I do use it for that) more of a get it out of the over and butter it and enjoy with a cuppa tea kind of bread. Seriously though - i am a very unwilling gluten free person- I have not found one bread on the market that I like, I seriously...
  19. No, no butter. But I have used Orgran and it was fine- a little more runny perhaps? Actually- whats even nicer is if you do 1 cup S/R and one cup brown rice flour, 2 eggs, two cups of milk...mmmm
  20. I just use 1 cup s/r flour (I use white wings) 1 egg, and 1 cup of milk (double it if you want to do a big batch - I sometimes just freeze some in batches) then I add whatever I feel like, sometimes ham, chicken, chorizo, bacon (whatever) a grated carrot, a grated zucchini and some frozen peas, grated cheese. I also mess around with herbs and spices, so...
  21. homemade savoury piklets with zucchini, carrot, peas, cheese, a bit of bacon and spices. Yum!
  22. Dr Sue Shepard has great cookbooks. I have the gluten free kitchen - easy peasy but delish recipes and great photos etc. She is Australia and this is her website - but I am sure you can get the books on amazon or something. Open Original Shared Link
  23. Yeah- but keep eating it! Because if you don't you'll end up with a false negative. And trust me - you don't want that!
  24. Yeah, negative for me. If I eat gluten I end up with a life threatening condition that has me in ER. So deffo problem with gluten. Interestingly - I also have other autoimmune conditions which they can't figure out - and my bloods are always negative for those things as well...some kind of connection perhaps?
  25. Also - alternating D and C are notorious in Celiac. I never had D my whole life but had C quite badly in the end. You should deffo get tested for it.
