  1. I was dizzy when I first went gluten free, but it went away. If you have been fine and are just now getting dizzy spells you need to go to your doctor. Your electrolytes could be off or a whole bunch of other things that are easy to fix. Try drinking some Gatorade for now and hydrating well. But go see the doc.
  2. It's really important you get checked for this. It could be asthma, allergies or a whole bunch of other things that are easy to fix.
  3. Be careful with the water. She's only 9. Her water intake should be lower than an adult's. Too much water throws off your sodium and electrolytes and is bad for you too.
  4. Insist that all her other hormones be checked, especially aldosterone and rennin. I got low aldosterone and it made me pee so much I was hospitalized. I had many of those same symptoms. It throws off your electrolytes and really makes a mess of things. Insist on her electrolytes being checked and her vitamin D, iron and B's. Also get her cortisol checked...
  5. Dr. Mleynek in Huntington Beach is very knowledgable. One of the posters here on the board loves him. He had horrible bedside manner with me, but I think I caught him on an off day because my friend has always had great experiences with him. Not sure if that's too far for you but he knows an awful lot.
  6. ROFL, yes being a moron doesn't help you. The thing is that celiac is an all or nothing disease. Once you are totally gluten free and you get healed, your body won't tolerate small amounts of gluten anymore. You'll be used to feeling well and you'll really notice when you have an autoimmune reaction going on. With food allergies it's a histamine response...
  7. One month isn't much time. I was 6 months before I started feeling really good. My whole personality changed for the better! I visited a friend I hadn't seen in a long time when I was about 7 months gluten free. She even commented at how mellow I was and how different I had become. I hardly ever lose my temper at my kids now. I'm so much more calm and relaxed...
  8. A fever sounds like a bug to me. Plus the way you are feeling so achy. I know gluten can make some people achy, but couples with fever, it's probably a virus. There's some going around now. We are getting over a virus that started out with nausea and a little bit of V, then moved into a stuffy nose and chest congestion like 5 days later. My kids got it too...
  9. In my opinion dietary response is "official" enough. If gluten makes you that sick you have celiac. Screw the lame tests that are so inaccurate anyway. I did get a blood test confirmation but refused to stay on gluten for endoscopy. I wanted off that sickness roller coaster. I don't believe in gluten intolerance either but that's me. I think it's just baby...
  10. I looked at your profile. Similar age to you so I can't be your mother.
  11. I'm not sure if I'm old enough to be your mother but I will mother you. LOL Can you eat cheese but not straight milk? I heard that is often the case. Milk and ice cream are rough on someone but they can eat cheese and yogurt or whatever. How on earth do you survive a cheat? I'm diligent about crumbs and not having someone drink from my straw if they...
  12. Keep those gluten free frozen pizzas in your freezer at all times. If you want to actually make an excellent pizza, I use Gluten Free Pantry french bread and pizza crust. It is SO good. Everyone I've served it to loves it. It only takes about 20 minutes start to finish. Mix it up. Oil your hands so you can pat it down on a cookie sheet. Throw on sauce and...
  13. Wonderful news that it's in the early stages and there is treatment for you. You advocated for yourself and got answers quickly. You can beat this. Cancer is treatable these days. Do everything you can to support yourself nutritionally too. I started juicing lots of green veggies and then adding apples, carrots and oranges to flavor it up. It is helping...
  14. I went through emotional hell when I was diagnosed. I was so angry and anxious and upset. I was still pretty sick for 6 months on top of it all. It does and will get better!!! Eventually this lifestyle will just be second nature. You will find good dinner rolls. They're out there somewhere. I was never a big dinner roll person so I haven't looked. ...
  15. More veggies, beans and fruits are your best bet. It can take some time to get everything regulated again and heal the damage. You can take a magnesium supplement to move things along. Don't take it everyday unless you are sure you need it, just use it for C.
  16. Interestingly there is a new salon line that says it's gluten free called Unite. They use hydrolyzed wheat protein and they insist it's gluten free. Lots of us know about the bogus studies on hydrolyzed wheat protein and how sick the participants got. I decided to try it anyway. Spent like $120 on product. It gave me horrible migraines and made me so sick...
  17. Definitely go slow with adding things, especially since you are a toxic gluten filled gluteny mess. LOL Seriously though, please don't cheat. It's autoimmune and you're literally damaging your intestines. What gluten foods are you needing? Let us help you on how to substitute. I've got a little boy who has celiac too so I've had to work hard to...
  18. Would you like us to chastise you for cheating? I can put you in time out if you like. No cheating allowed!
  19. Wow that is a great analogy!!! Who is the person who got irreversible gluten induced ataxia while doing a gluten challenge for endoscopy? Isn't she in a wheelchair? Not to scare you, but I want you to seriously think if this is worth the answers you may or may not get from that test. Give us some more background. How long have you been gluten free and...
  20. It's not about a layer of fear. It's just one more thing you can do if you're not feeling well. I think also the length of your hair could make a difference. I have pretty long hair so my hands are on it all the time, brushing it back out of my face, etc. I know for me my symptoms made a huge improvement when I got rid of my wheat containing products. I've...
  21. These threads always get long and they always get a rise out of someone or other who disagrees and insists that you can use whatever products you want (not that anyone said that yet, but I'm sure it's coming). The thing is, celiac reactions can happen from trace amounts of gluten. You need to give yourself every single precaution that you can in your own...
  22. Why are you doing this? Do you have to have an endoscopy diagnosis for something official? You are getting sick after one piece of bread. The damage you will do to yourself eating gluten for the next couple of months... is it worth it? I don't understand why doctors do this to people, I really don't. Honestly, the only treatment for celiac is avoiding...
  23. I can't imagine dealing with all those crumbs. Why are there crumbs all over the place? Is everyone just going nuts with crackers all day long? I mean I never see crumbs here at restaurants unless it's on a dirty table after someone ate their food. My son and I are celiac but my husband and daughter had to go gluten free at home because of crumbs. My...
  24. I've only encountered that during a massage when there was fluid in a knot. I hope it's not painful and just an annoyance for you.
  25. Hugs and hugs and hugs for you! I pray that it is at an early stage and you get healed fast. There is so much they can do for cancer nowadays. It's not like before where there were just a few treatments. My dad has cancer and they are doing amazing things to treat him. Hang in there and come here for support when you need it. We celiacs have to stick...
