  1. Its probably fine. But.... I doubt a 3 year old would care if her salami is from Trader Joes or pre-packaged Boarshead? There are many brands that say "gluten-free" on them - why not just buy those?
  2. vomiting isn't usually a symptom of Celiac - but it can be in a few people. Remember - he must be eating gluten for a prolonged period to get tested for Celiac disease. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Just an FYI- many beers are very low gluten. I wouldn't feel confident that the negative means you don't have Celiac.
  4. I eat Edys all the time. I haven't tried the pumpkin flavor and do not know the ingredients.
  5. Well.... The meal WAS a little light on protein..... Lol
  6. Because something like Neosporin is unlikely to contain lactose or gluten , maybe the soy free bloggers/sites might have good suggestions.
  7. There are websites for people with soy "issues". Maybe they have some ideas.too?
  8. I don't see soy mentioned in the ingredients? Open Original Shared Link
  9. Yes. And the poster that brought this thread back wasn't going to eat them like the first poster was.
  10. Good point!
  11. Free relationship advice - And you have to nod and try not to have your eyes glaze over! Helps to be doing something - washing a dish - petting the dog.
  12. Sounds like moving out is a good idea. Distance yourself a little. If I had to know more than my son's - my brain would explode! They are in engineering school. And like your IT tech BF, know stuff that makes no sense to me! But I know some stuff they don't and they know that - so I get questions about - cooking, cleaning, sickness, girls, money...
  13. The Op was talking about "eating" them. I would think they would be fine for bathing. I can''t see where gluten cc could happen as you wouldn't make other things on that type of manufacturing line or in the mine? I doubt any company would tell you they tested them for gluten as the product and the processing would have nothing to do with gluten.
  14. Just because she is your mother, doesn't mean you have to see her, live with her, etc. Sounds like she is just an evil person and it doesn't matter if you have Celiac or not - she would find something to be nasty about. If you have kids, I wouldn't let them spend much, or any time, with her. Of course - maybe if she does have Celiac and will take care...
  15. Bummer..... But at least you know what your problem is and can work on it. Bug that doctor's office to get in sooner.
  16. I saw these at one of the "health" food stores. The ones I saw were small - about the size of a little round margarine tub. Good to know they are tasty. I might try one when I see them again. They are probably the same ones - 170 calories per serving (it has 2 servings).
  17. We had beef stew last night, too! With some experimental "pop-over" rolls. The rolls were very "eggy"- not really what we wanted but OK. Sunday night we had the best green chili pork stew! Cooked the pork for 4 hours in the oven, then made the stew! It was fabulous! We are having more tonight!

    ARCHIVED Washcloth

I am not "super sensitive" but I still use a pink or purple washing sponge for gluten-free and a blue or green one for gluten dishes. But that is just the "normal" sensitive Celiac take - maybe some Super sensitives will weigh in - I bet most don't even have any gluten in the house.
  19. Maybe it has nothing to do with gluten? Maybe there is an ingredient in one brand that is not in another? Like soy or a food coloring?
  20. I looked at that. Isn't it odd that they put salt and sugar in it? If you got a few flours, your could mix them the way you want for different items. For example, you don't want teff & millet in a cup cake. You might want less sorghum in a nutty flavored bread.
  21. No. They are from a gluten-free bakery close to my house.
  22. Lets see. Haven't posted in a while, so some catch-up We made some great pizzas on pizza crusts from a local bakery - cheese & feta; pepperoni, jalapeno & pineapple; red onions and bacon; and a BBQ chicken - Gates BBQ sauce for the sauce, grilled chicken, red onions, cheddar & moz. Turkey sandwiches on millet rolls, left-over scalloped...
  23. We have a thermos ( Coleman brand?) for coffee. The key is to put hot water in the thermos for several minutes before you put the hot food in to warm it. It makes a big difference. crockpot makes a little crock for re-heating food if you have a plug. It's not for cooking but you could put cooked chile in it and have it ready in a hotel room in a couple...
  24. I eat lots of foods that don't say " gluten-free" on them. Just a reminder - if you want to be tested for Celiac disease, you should not stop eating gluten until all testing is finished.
  25. Just curious as I see this often - why do you (a chef/restaurant) think that vegans need to be gluten free? Or Celiacs need to be vegan? At first, I thought you were trying to make something without a lot of the main allergens - but you have almonds, soy, corn. So I am curious about how restaurants see us - not meant to be rude - just curious about something...
