  1. You are responding to posts from 2009. I don't think either of them have been around in years. Might not get a response.
  2. Hub heard the ingredients - he's in! I think I might make it this week. Hub is very busy at work so it can be hard to plan for a specific dinner time.
  3. Last night - cheese, crackers - one kind was Addie's favorite, fruit, garlic cream cheese melted on a Schar baguette, a little wine. Tonight is pasta with some melted moz/ parm and a little wine. I'm sensing a theme here......
  4. THanks. This thread is from 2007. Products change over time but an up date is nice.
  5. Open Original Shared Link From the osteoporosis org. Open Original Shared Link When and how often should adults get screened for osteoporosis/osteopenia after being diagnosed with celiac disease? 60% of celiacs at the time of diagnosis have abnormal bone mass, therefore you should be screened at diagnosis. If bone density is normal at diagnosis, proceed...
  6. I don't know if its a good idea to replace real food with a drink but..... I just don't feel comfortable with barley and wheat grass. It should be gluten-free, but ......
  7. IF you have been eating at restauruants often, you have probably been getting a little gluten, too.
  8. Maybe. How's that for a definite answer? Some people get worse reactions, some get less worse. How's that for some bad grammar? Some people find that , as time has passed without any glutening, a tiny accidental bit might not be too bad. Some people find it gets worse. I don't know why that happens. Everyone is different. 9. I don't think it measures that high (400)usually. It really doesn't matter what my tests were for your circumstances. Look - time to face it - your test was positive. Have you had an endoscopy? That is probably the best way to find out the extent of the damage. It really doesn't matter if you are at the beginning of Celiac or have had it, untreated...
  10. What is the range for the test you took? Different labs use a different measurement. Sort of like measuring in inches or centimeters.
  11. That isn't really a factual article. Its just people talking. Look at the Mayo clinic article. It doesn't say all Asians are lactose intolerant but it is more common for them. Really, its up to you if you want to keep drinking milk. I think it would be easy to skip the lactose for a few weeks and see if it helps.
  12. Foil is a Celiac's best friend in some situations. I use a couple of layers on a cookie sheet or to cook on the grill. Most people have it at their house.
  13. Dairy comes from a cow, usually. I guess you could be drinking goats milk, but that is unusual. So, no, eggs are not dairy. Eggs come from birds.
  14. Read more on the link I gave you to learn about it.
  15. Once again - rice is gluten free. It is possible rice bothers you for other reasons, but it isn't gluten. You said you were drinking milk, so I didn't realize you hadn't had any since you were 1. Are you eating any other dairy that could be causing a lactose intolerance issue?
  16. I think lactose intolerance is very common in Asian adults. Many people in the world have lactose intolerance and don't have Celiac. Also, rice does not contain gluten. And Celiac isn't an allergy. Open Original Shared Link
  17. I freeze things and then put them in the cooler. Sometimes they are still a frozen brick when I get there. But you need to warn them if you are bringing food for everyone. I will do twice baked potatoes - I can make a meal of them and everyone else can have one for a side dish. I just tell them not to plan. Or I ask what they are having and help make...
  18. I am sure she found you annoying, too. Standing over her and telling her how to cook in her own kitchen? Bring your own food. Maybe make yourself something before you go that you just need to microwave or can eat cold. Bring something you can share with everyone - like a couple of those tator tot casseroles. Looks like something you could make...
  19. OMG! Now, I will think of nothing else until I make this!
  20. Why did you decide to limit yourself to these few foods? Maybe check out the What's for Dinner Chat and see what everyone eats. There are soooooo many things to eat that are gluten-free. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/75238-the-whats-for-dinner-tonight-chat/page-554#entry916466
  21. Borax is made from a rock. Not sure why a little of that is bad. They can't walk on it. When I find the ants very annoying, I track them to their home, dig them up a little and flood them out with the garden hose and a bit of dawn detergent if I think of it.
  22. A test for diabetes? Would be happy that came back normal. Not sure why this person with a 1 year degree is telling you you need to have diabetes before you should be tested for Celiac? Or is it some other test?
  23. People do have the option to not receive Pms.
  24. Borax. They hate to walk on it. Or heavy chalk lines on concrete or wood siding.
  25. You know what....... Believe what you want. Eat what works for you. Have you ever seen rice grow? And wheat grow? Might be time we all took a field trip!
