ARCHIVED Unclear What Is Considered High Dgp
kareng replied to Peterpause's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
At your age, you should get a colonoscopy anyway. Ask the GI if he goes anywhere that takes your insurance or can refer you to a GI that does. Sometimes, doctors have preferred surgicenters (close to the office or the gym) but have privileges at other sites. Keep eating gluten until you figure this all out. -
I was going to say - Sometimes it is funny. And good- natured kidding is OK. But - this is work, so that can be different than a close friend or family member kidding that they can eat the cholesterol, sugar sodium bomb (aka donut) and poor you will have a healthy heart & skinny thighs. Also, "multiple times" making fun of any medical condition...

ARCHIVED Humaworm? Other Parasite Cleanse?
kareng replied to carolynmay's topic in Super Sensitive People
That's because they eat worm infested poops! I hope that isn't your issue! . But, actually, dogs aren't de- wormed on a regular basis unless they have worms in their poop. It is unnecessary and harmful to do it to dogs for no reason. -
I think this is a bit confusing, too. I am going to address this part that I think I understand what you are claiming: "Whenever you remove something from your diet, your body panics and it tries to replace it with something else. However that something else is something different then what your body wants so it just disposes of it. This happened to me...

ARCHIVED C Diff? Or Celiac, Or Other Dietary Issue?
kareng replied to Michael Briggs's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I don't know anything about c Diff but, I don't think you are supposed to have antibiotics and probiotics in your stomach at the same time. I think it might effect the antibiotics. You might look into that. -
ARCHIVED Garnier Fructis
kareng replied to Moongirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Once again, there is a difference between an allergy and Celiac. Are you saying that the tiny amount of gluten that might be on you hands and get into your eye is the reason people still have high celiac ? They do tell you that if you use products that might get into your mouth to make them gluten free. That is because they are going into your intestine... -
There really isn't a " gluten allergy". You might have a wheat allergy? I don't know much about what it takes to diagnose a wheat allergy. I understand that it can be hard to diagnoses food allergies. If you are seeing an allergist and the/ she thinks it is an anaphylactic allergy, then they have prescribed epi pens, I would think?

Allergies are different than Celiac. People do seem to have allergic reactions to airborne allergens. But that is different than Celiac Disease. Genetic testing for Celiac Disease won't tell you if you have an allergy. Nor will it tell you if you have celiac for certain. About 30% of the population has a gene for Celiac but only 1% of the population have...

ARCHIVED Fatigue!
kareng replied to gwynanne4life's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
If you are this tired, you really need to tell your doctor. There are many things it could be and you would want to get them taken care of. This might not be Celiac related as you were feeling good. I am sure that only eating a supplement isn't helping your energy either. -
ARCHIVED New To Celiac's - Looking For Gluten Free Grocery List
kareng replied to kayciekaren22's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
In most countries, including the US, wheat must be listed. Gluten really can't hide. If it is Barley, it will be listed because barley or barley malt or malt vinegar are expensive ingredients. Rye is really only in cracker or bread and will be listed, too. There are some exotic forms of wheat that go by names like Spelt and Einkorn but those are... -
The gluten-free drug list is great. It can't possibly include every drug. The ingredients on regular ducolax look gluten-free. But it sounds like its too harsh for your system. You are only gluten-free for a week so, even if it had a teeny tiny amount of gluten, it probably wouldn't make any difference yet. You are eating differently and your system is...

ARCHIVED Could My 4 Year Old Have Celiac Disease?
kareng replied to mama2kade's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
He could certainly be retested for Celiac.. One negative doesn't mean he won't develop it later. It's a bit like testing for strep throat a- he doesn't have it today but it doesn't mean he won't get it in the future. -
ARCHIVED Husband Has Celiac - Should I Go gluten-free For Pregnancy?
kareng replied to tsgentry's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I can't find it, but I saw where the doctors say there is no need to be gluten free during pregnancy if you do not have Celiac. You aren't making any antibodies, so I don't see how eating gluten would hurt the baby. Here is the most recent study on introducing gluten to babies: Open Original Shared Link https://www.celiac.com/articles/232... -

Have you had your thyroid tested? Sounds like you need to see your doctor and get evaluated for other issues? Maybe you got mono? I have a friend in her 40s that just got mono. Apparently it isn't just for young adults! -
I won't make the mistake of trying to help you again. Sorry.

So... If we don't remember what your multiple food intolerances are....how can people help? One person's multiple intolerances might be what another can eat. The one food intolerance we all have in common on this Celiac Forum, is gluten. Obviously, we don't seem able to help and are just making you angry. People were just trying to help. Good luck.

I find that potatoes, especially sliced ones, tend to stick and burn on the bottom next to the "walls". And, like I said, her cooking times are usually a couple hours longer than needed. Doesn't matter for some things like chili. speaking of chili, that is what we are having for dinner. We are getting ready for our first Robotics competition Thur Fri... -
ARCHIVED La Costena Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauc
kareng replied to Jonine73's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use them all the time - well... As much as I can. Spices cannot, legally, hide a grain. Vinegar, except " malt vinegar" , is not a concern. Obviously they don't know what is gluten or they are being advised to make a CYA statement because they don't test for gluten. I don't have a link to the US rule about spices but you could google it. I know it... -
