  1. These are national chains that do a good job of gluten-free that you might see. You can google them before you go to see what kind of food they serve and where they are located. Fast food - Pei Wei - small gluten-free menu but good Five Guys - burgers Chick- Fil-A - grillled chicken fingers and fries and shakes Nicer places: Pf...
  2. I know there are blood tests to check for most vaccinations. there likely is one for Hep B, too. This is one you might email univ of Chicago celiac center and see what they think? Or, even better, your doctor could.
  3. I'm not big on these Internet " doctors" that make their money off fear and not facts. There is a big botanical explanation for the proteins in other grains. This is a simpler chart Open Original Shared Link
  4. I just realized this should be in the cooking section! I will move it there now. Silly me.....
  5. Sounds like you know you shouldn't be eating gluten & what the consequences are. I would suggest you get another job or try to get your employer to make accommodations. But I think you will tell me you can't do that. Not sure why you couldn't bring things like peanut butter, dried fruits, protein bars, beef jerky, planters nuts, etc for the days you...
  6. How expensive are you thinking? Looks like they have some usually celiac friendly places like Fago de Chao, landrys , & Ruth Chris. I just glanced at Open Original Shared Link
  7. Its not really a sauce but I add different things to rice. Things I use that it sounds like you can have - pineapple, teryaki, small chopped up veggies, corn, peas, fresh basil, dried Ital seasoning, fresh or canned jalapenos or other peppers, oven roasted peppers (spicy or bell), jarred roasted red peppers, tiny chopped up spinach, etc. Olive oil drizzled...
  8. You might want to start here: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Read around on the current threads. Look at the what's for dinner thread to give you some food ideas. FYI - Product ingredients can vary by country.
  9. Kid seems to have burned out the motor on his little smoothie maker. A rubber gasket wasn't pushed in correctly and tangled around the blades. Can you make frozen smoothie drinks with the Nutribullet? He likes to put frozen fruit, juice and protein powder and take it to school to have after his first class ( weight lifting). What size are the containers...
  10. http://whiteonricecouple.com/recipes/sweet-onion-dip-recipe/ I used Miracle whip instead of the mayo..... Nah! Just kidding! . I used sour cream instead - hub hates Mayo and Mayo- like products so much that he can't walk down that isle in the grocery. It's yummy. It re- heats in the micorwave. And the left- overs cold from the fridge are very very...
  11. The Buffalo Chicken Lasagna? It's great!
  12. Metal spoons would wash the best.
  13. These were a lifesaver when I was on vacation. The place, with a full kitchen, we were supposed to stay at got sold and closed. We got a place with a microwave and fridge only. The rest got pizza and I got one of these enchilada bowls and some chips. Yummy!
  14. Just having a gene doesn't mean you have celiac. About 30% of people have at least 1 gene for Celiac. They have to " turn on".
  15. And it isn't like mustard flour is likely to be made in a what flour factory! Lol
  16. I haven't seen any main stream US mustards with gluten. This is a ConAgra product and they are very good about disclosing ingredient sources. I would check mustards for "malt vinegar". A few fancy ones might use that. If it just says "vinegar" it should be fine
  17. I haven't looked at the label recently as we don't use anything like that. But I think it is considered gluten-free from past info. It is a Kraft so they will clearly label anything derived from gluten.
  18. Maybe the allergy to bunny did it? They are so cute...... Open Original Shared Link
  19. I realized I never said what I served at my "Dip" party. Jerk chicken wings with green onion & sour cream dipping sauce olive tapenade roasted red pepper hummus chipolte cheese dip sweet onion crack dip guac & salsa to dip - Ruffles, tortilla chips, multi-seed tortilla chips, Glutino bagel chips, FFL rice crackers, carrots, celery &...
  20. You can go into your profile and change your picture if you want. I do it often!
  21. They actually say they don't recognize stool or otherwise from those companies. There isn't currently a medically accepted test for gluten sensitivity except to stop eating it and see what happens. But I would hate for you to do that without getting tested first. Any doc can order the test - even your OB/ GYN. But an endocrine doc isn't usually involved...
  22. Meant to add- I like your name. I had funny thoughts of a random horse walking down the street. Expected a picture of a horse.
  23. An actual MD recommended that test? Please read something from celiac experts/ researchers Open Original Shared Link "Why don’t you recognize tests (stool tests or otherwise) for non-celiac gluten sensitivity that are currently available through companies like Enterolab or Cyrex? We only embrace tests that have endured rigorous scientific evaluations. ...
  24. You don't need to do fringe tests from Internet labs. Your doctor can order some basic ones to see if you are getting enough vit d, iron, ferritin, 12, etc. A Celiac gets Celiac blood tests every year to see if they are doing a good job with the gluten-free free diet. However, occasional accidental gluten would not show up on those tests. Open Original...
