  1. Looks great! And blueberries are one of the few fruits that thaw and taste like new!
  2. When a Celiac has healed, they should be able to absorb most nutrients just fine. If you don;t get enough in your food, then a vitamin pill might be a good choice. You should not limit yourself to eating only processed items that say gluten-free on them. Items that are not labelled gluten-free are very healthy - meat, fruits, veggies, beans, etc.,...
  3. Bummer! The only thing I have had burn in the crockpot was some potatoes - but just a little on the bottom. The rest were fine. Last night we had penne with Newmans Own Marinara. I baked it in the oven with moz, Asiago, parm and Romano on top until brown. Yum!
  4. Most vinegar is made with corn or apples. Malt vinegar contains barley but you wouldn't clean with that.
  5. I think something as serious as the safety of medical procedure while on Warfarin, is best left to your doctors to decide. I would ask them to re- do the blood tests they have lost.
  6. Keep eating gluten and get the celiac blood tests. If you stop eating gluten, there is no good test for celiac disease. Open Original Shared Link
  7. Maybe the tooth decay is just years of bad habits catching up with you?
  8. This is my question, too? It looks like it has a hole in the back and the grease would just spill out onto the counter. Some of the gluten-free grills don't seem to have a good grease catcher, either.
  9. Here is a gold lining - the. "celiac rash" isn't likely to happen to a celiac who is gluten free and have never had DH before. Nice the derm knew there was something! Too bad he didn't really know anything about it.
  10. I am never surprised. When I had an elective procedure, I asked about pre-op meds or anything they would try to feed me in advance.. I brought my own dry cereal (Chex) and knew I could have the applesauce and sodas/juices. I brought my own pain meds that I knew were gluten-free. I had them put the allergy wrist band on me. I talked to the nurses that would...
  11. Not sure if she will accept a frozen meal but Amy's has some that say Kosher. Open Original Shared Link
  12. How Kosher do your foods need to be? Could you make something in your home like meat and veggies with no dairy or pork? Does she require you not use a pot to cook the meat that you might have made cheese sauce in? Does she have a separate set of disease for dairy and meat? If she isn't that extreme, I would think you could bring your own food. Just run...
  13. Depending on the test, they may do more than one per tube. But the doctor has to order it.
  14. They used to have an on- line allergen menu but I can't find it now. A few years ago, most stuff was gluten-free but our Baja Fresh closed so I never pursued it. Kind of weird - trying to figure out how you fry rice in a tortilla fryer. I would think all the rice would float about. Not sure what frying would do for the rice? But, in a place like this...
  15. Thanks! Someone has to be the guinea pig!
  16. Everyone feels sick when pregnant. Its hard for you to prove something that is ridiculous. It would be like me saying you shouldn't eat apples while pregnant and asking you to prove you it is OK. There is no research because its not an issue. I would just ignore her. Say that your doctor says you are fine. It really isn't something you should worry...
  17. That is confusing. You have to prove you don't have Celiac Disease or Gluten intolerance to them? Maybe ask them for their proof that a healthy person eating gluten will hurt the baby? Tell them your doctor has said you are fine? If a person diagnosed with Celiac disease eats gluten, they could harm the baby. This is for someone with Celiac...
  18. I have never seen any credible evidence of this. Please supply your sources. Also, some teeth issues are irreversible. Check with a dentist.
  19. You actually go to dr Osborne? I don't think we have any of his actual patients from his practice before! Very interesting. I wasn't even sure if he had any patients or just did Internet sales.
  20. That's true. I have seen so many told they don't have celiac because the docs don't get it. Can't hurt while they are there.
  21. . But if the OP has been gluten-free for a year.... They won't discover Celiac disease. And might tell her she doesn't have any issues with gluten. Its understandable, but hard when people cut out the gluten before Celiac testing.
  22. If it is an ingredient, it must be listed. Just as salt or corn syrup or rice must be listed. I just bought some Liquid Smoke and it even says Gluten free on it. But as always, do what feels right for you.
  23. We had a really yummy Smoked turkey and bean soup. Fabulous flavor - slightly spicy and nicely smoky. http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2012/10/smoky-turkey-and-black-bean-soup.html I used a big piece of turkey they called a "turkey tenderloin" but you could probably put a turkey breast in, too. Used frozen corn , onion and frozen spinach - didn't thaw...
  24. Sounds like gluten isn't the problem or gluten is a problem but there are more issues going on. You might try an elimination diet to see what other foods bother you. And the colonoscopy is probably a good idea, too.
  25. If they have an interest in eating...........
