  1. Sounds good to me. Many companies that are not testing for gluten, will not officially call a food " gluten free".
  2. This looks like a good explanation. There are some foods to avoid on about page 5. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Got this email from FARE (Food allergy and education). It's about allergies but I think It may pertain to Celiac Disease, too. Next Webinar: Your Right to be Safe – Food Allergies and the Law Federal disability laws provide protection for individuals with life-threatening food allergies, but they can be tough to navigate and are often difficult to u...
  4. The info on this thread is from 2009. Some ingredients may have changed during that amount of time. Dyes are not a gluten concern. You may not want to eat them for other reasons.
  5. INfo on this thread is 4 years old and products change over time. Dyes are not a Celiac concern. I use Mucinex and some generic versions. "Do Mucinex®, Mucinex® DM and Mucinex® D tablets contain gluten? While Mucinex®, Mucinex® DM and Mucinex® D tablets are not formulated with any ingredient containing gluten, we do not test or certify them to be “g...
  6. As this topic has nothing to do with Super Sensitivity, I have moved it here. it seems to be more of a topic about coping/accepting a Celiac diagnosis. I will caution that we don't want this to become a religious discussion/argument/bashing. We are good so far. My thought on the OP's question - Celiac disease isn't likely to be reversed. I think the...
  7. Its possible she doesn't even have Celiac. I have had people say that they had Celiac but not now. When I ask for more details, it doesn't sound like they were ever actually diagnosed with Celiac. A couple had a wheat allergy as a kid that they seem to have grown out of (hives, stuffy nose symptoms). A couple decided they have Celiac and then got tired...
  8. I'm not but....there are one or two or 1000 here. Plus, lots of folks eat some vegetarian dishes. Look on the cooking thread. Maybe post on the what's for Dinner thread and look over there.
  9. What they do to ensure no cc of toppings - they take unopened toppings & cheese from the fridge - Not the cheese, etc on the regular prep line. They are willing to guarantee that they have these few toppings extra, in the back. I think we could argue that they have lots of black olives, green peppers, etc and must have some fresh, untouched in the...
  10. I have gone twice now! Fabulous! Not a lot of choices, but that is OK, because they do that to ensure they have safe toppings. ,my 2 favorites - Margarita and BBQ chicken - are on the list. I think you can get a more " regular" kid style cheese pizza that isn't listed.
  11. No Celiac reason not to have the vaccinations you need. Is it okay to get a flu shot if I have celiac disease? Yes, it’s fine to get a flu shot. The immune system of those with celiac disease has not been compromised. You should receive the same immunizations as healthy individuals. 12. Might have been the person you copied from, but it looked like you were saying that.
  13. We usually say it like Amazon. And that works. It's the ".com" part that makes it a link.
  14. When a Celiac eats gluten, the body makes antibodies. These antibodies attack the intestines and sometimes, skin (DH). If you aren't eating gluten, you may not have enough antibodies running around to show up in the blood tests. If you are getting an endoscopy, you don't want to heal before your test and have the doc say you don't have Celiac when you...
  15. Will your primary doctor do a Celiac blood test? You could go to a dermatologist and see if they will biopsy next to an active lesion. If they are rally hives, then it sounds like you might be allergic to something.
  16. That is a different thing and that makes sense. I can't believe a grocery would be allowed to cook things behind the meat counter, where they cut meat. If they are doing that, I think they need to be reported.
  17. Welcome. If you are eating gluten, you would expect the numbers to go up. I sent you a message you might want to read.
  18. Don't know why not. In the US, there are no or almost no hit dogs with gluten. Read the ingredients - wheat must be listed.
  19. I use McCormicks. If you want a complete chili seasoning, Williams chili seasonings are only spices. Of course, read the ingredients, just in case
  20. If you lived in Kansas City, I would be so fat and so broke! They are beautiful and look completely normal!
  21. Alrighty..... I think we have established that bacon is gluten free. Back to the purpose of this thread - joining an on- line chat.
  22. Wow! Your store must have a filthy meat department. Where I live, you aren't allowed to cook anything near the raw meat and where they cut and grind it. They scrub the tables and the floors constantly. You might think about reporting it to the local health department. And if it is store policy to mishandle the meat, maybe report to the USDA? Edited...
  23. Just a heads up. The original info on this thread is from 2007. I would bet the Krogers list has changed in 6 or 7 years since the original post.
  24. Pretty typical CYA a statement. They don't use any gluten ingredients but don't test for gluten. Most of the info on this thread is almost 5 years old. Products change so please don't go by this old info.
  25. Then my hub will ask in a loud voice, in front of everyone - Where are the X? And then everyone is like - OOOO! X! I love X!
