Horrible Pressure Headaches After Eating
kareng replied to lemonade's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just an FYI - wheat is not GMO. -
So, this whole article is not for the people on this site. Would we allow people to post a gluteny bread recipe and say "And, of course, for diets of medical necessity (such as gluten-free eating for someone with celiac disease), this recipe unfortunately isn’t an option."? Or tell us about a great new Oreo flavor they love and say "And, of course, for d...

Intolerance for wheat but not celiac?
kareng replied to mystic's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don't get it either. These food sensitivity tests have little to no real science behind them. Do what you want with the results. -
I see this is copied off someone's else's page- what's going on?

Help with diagnosis
kareng replied to SJenkins114's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You might want to find a new doctor. Celiac blood tests take a week at most. But taking steroids could mess up the blood work. -

Do you have Celiac disease? Why is your face puffy? There are so many reasons for a puffy face. A gluten free first doesn’t fix everything -
What could I have other than Celiac?
kareng replied to Nixie12's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Before you decide you are a Celiac( or let a doctor decide) you might want to get checked for other autoimmune diseases that can cause a slightly high TTG IGA and a very high total IGA -

What could I have other than Celiac?
kareng replied to Nixie12's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You need to get a copy of those test results. I hesitate to answer because I am not sure if they are talking about total serum IGA - which is not directly related to Celiac or a TTg IGA test is elevated. The simple explanation of serum IGA is - it is taken to see if you can make IGAs that are "counted" for the ttg Iga Celiac test. a few people don... -
I wonder if you called again and got another person - if you would get another answer? Its so frustrating. They don't test for gluten so thier lawyers say they can't call it gluten free. Based on the ingredients listed above,I would take it..... I mean if I was 20 years younger and wanting another baby. I hope it helps you.

Sublingual Vit. B12
kareng replied to jerseyangel's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Open Original Shared Link Natural flavorings are not considered a Celiac issue. ON the rare occasion they are made from wheat it must say that on the label. And distilled alcohol is gluten free no matter what grain it is made from. Open Original Shared Link -
Severe Burning Stomach pain
kareng replied to Erick's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I wonder if she has an ulcer? Diverticulitis? They should find the ulcer during the endoscope. And if They don’t find anything they should do a colonoscopy. Maybe they could do both at the same time? -
ARCHIVED Symptoms still persisting
kareng replied to LilyBujak's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
One thing to consider is that you may be eating very differently than before. Healthier but a sudden diet change can cause issues. For example, more fiber, less fat, etc. -
ARCHIVED Symptoms still persisting
kareng replied to LilyBujak's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
How could we know all that from your first post? It sounded like you ate at a restaurant or a friends house. Most people who have only been gluten-free for a month are still trying to figure it out. -
Maltodextrin? (vitamin ingredients)
kareng replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't worry about maltodextrin. Didn't the Natures Made say gluten-free on it? It usually does. -
ARCHIVED Symptoms still persisting

It can take months to heal.... but who made this supposedly gluten-free dinner? There is more to it than just gluten-free ingredients. You might be better off sticking to some simple gluten-free food you fix yourself for a few months. Read the newbie thread for some tips. Read the newbie thread for some info. -
ARCHIVED Passover Vinegar?
kareng replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Horseradish kills my stomach - nothing to do with gluten. But the deal with Passover is they can't have any wheat or barley - so, no matter how its made, it can't contain that -
ARCHIVED Risk factors
kareng replied to Katya773's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So you have seen your actual Celiac tests and they were positive years ago? And your mom didn't understand it was for Celiac? Those are all the tests you need if those are real. -
The truth is that a couple of cheats or accidental gluten probably won’t kill you. But I hate to hear docs telling people it’s Ok to cheat because they do cheat. It isn’t as bad as they thought.... so they do it again... pretty soon they are back to eating gluten and damaging themselves. But it’s OK because some idiot with an MD said it was Ok. Even ...

ARCHIVED Passover Vinegar?
kareng replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Open Original Shared Link The main difference is that "malt vinegar" is not distilled. Common vinegars - like the cheap white vinegar you get to clean with - it will say distilled on it somewhere. I only worry about malt vinegar but I always read the ingredients in case I picked up the wrong thing. "Passover vinegar" isn't used as a name of vinegar...
