  1. Maybe a chocolate, mint coconut ice cream type blender drink? Sounds good!
  2. You gotta love a recipe where you put a jar in the back of the closet for 2 weeks.
  3. That's why you & Russell are coming. To help & bring food! We have a guy here who makes the best red pepper hummus. Nothing he makes in that kitchen is gluteny so I figure is safe.
  4. I was wondering that, too. We used to do dark rum and cinn schapps. Like the hummus in the Pepper. very Xmasy colored. Since most are hub's employees, I think we can do enforce the no gluten rule. If this goes well, the boys will want out annual between Xmas and New Years neighborhood party. That will be hard to enforce & explain.
  5. Hub will take care of that. I just have to get him to get 10 bottles of the same merlot and 10 of the same white. He likes to get 10 different ones so he can try them all. Gets confusing at a party. ( and makes him confusing) Taking hub on a filed trip to Costco this weekend to scope out the possibilities. Will probably cost us $150 just to look...
  6. Toated coconut! Hub loves that!
  7. Welcome MB! Thought about salami but some ham would be nice. Never had pickled asparagus. Might try it.
  8. I love that mango salsa! Thanks, Jess! I let you know the date & time so you can get a flight.
  9. I love the little shish kabobs. Everything is more fun on a stick. When you do the cukes, if you scoop out the seed middle, how do you keep the salsa from falling out? I'm missing something here. I love the jicama & carrot chip idea. I've never used jicama. Will get one to experiment with.
  10. No one said life & love are simple or easy.
  11. Good point. I was going to do some fruit. Any elegant way to do veggies besides carrot sticks & sliced red pepper?
  12. I didn't really think you would want to lie. How much time do you have? You can slowly start adding comments and info into your conversations. If you are not sharing a room, its easier to hide bathroom issues. I think you have boxed yourself in and will have to discuss your current issues. Or break-up with the girlfriend. Yeah, right!
  13. Is there a brand I should look for? Does this sound like enough food? I usually practically serve dinner but that's hard right now. Can you come live with me?
  14. I was trying to make it as easy as possible by not dipping. Do you know if sprinkles are gluten-free? Its pouring rain so I'm to lazy to go to the store to check. I don't want to have leftover cheese and crackers and chocolate I can't eat! That really bothers me! (I'm acting like a spoiled brat, today)
  15. Jason, How long until the ski trip? If its still a few months away, you can start easing into the issues with the gluten-free. Apparently, you haven't stayed overnight together or she might have some clue about some of this. Also, let the people you are staying with know about the food issues. You may have to help with the food planning and cooking...
  16. I could probably put this out on another thread and get lots of ideas but ...Phfft! Why do that? Here's the story: Hub wants to have a little Xmas party for his employees/people he works with and spouses if they are so inclined. About 30 people. Trying to make this as easy as possible since most of it falls on me. We have decided to do a wine, cheese...
  17. TOLD YA! Told you you would do fine. Rest to get the anesthesia out of your system. It showed just what you thought it would - Celiac & ulcers
  18. I have separate dish sponges for hand washing. I have a pinkish purplish color for gluten-free. Everyone else has the blue. I also have some red cooking spoons and cutting boards. Red duct tape for my margarine tub, pb, etc. I also use paper towels a lot. I change dish towels/ hand towels everyday.
  19. It's been about 14 years since I had a kid in the day care state or county meal program so I might be a bit off. I remember they could have tortilla chips as a grain once a week. You could melt a little cheese on them and put a little chili or ground beef on. Rice with marinara and cheeses melted on top. Make some little meatballs to put in it. You...
  20. Loey - Sorry about the cousin. You'll do great tomorrow. It will be nice to get it done and movd on. Jess- I saw that on FB and wonders where it came from
  21. Post what you find. Inquiring minds want to know.
  22. They might contain barley malt or malt. This is sometimes used as a sweetener. They change them but at one time it was in a seasonal flavor syrup. we just had this topic a day or 2 ago.

Me too! Never noticed. Then I looked and got an eyeful! I can't believe anyone would buy anything from an ad like that. Some of the words didn't even make sense.
  24. Probably not many since most of the flavors say cheese or sour cream. I like plain anyway.
