  1. Peter, we think alike. My favorite Thanksging dinner was when I made lasagna. This was when my family lived too far away to complain.
  2. My hub better say " Pamela's!".
  3. Here's one reason to eat gluten-free.... Depending on the state you live in, your doctor should report your parents for child neglect/ abuse. The fact that they allow you to eat in a way that is causing you physical damage is child neglect/ abuse. This is because the only cure for your disease is a special diet. If you were diabetic and they wouldn't help...
  4. It's based on the last supper, where Jesus blessed the bread & wine and gave it to his disciples. He told them it is his body & blood. How this works is probably years worth of theological study. I think that the bread having to have wheat is silly. If his bread was Udis, would we all have to buy that? if the Jews had lived in China, maybe he...
  5. Re-read my post. I sound a bit harsh. I'm tired. Teenager went to the amusement parks haunted night. Wasn't home until 1:30 am. While my hub & I don't go out as much, when we do we go to nicer places. We have "Pub Night" at home and make nachos or different appetizers and have gluten-free beer or wine. My teen boys loved gluten-free pizza night...
  6. Merry Thanksgiving! What do you eat?
  7. Where did you read that stuff? The administration of this web site puts current medical articles on here. Depending on the article, 1 in 100 -130 people have Celiac. You should read some reputable, current sources that specialize in Celiac. Look at Columbia Univ Celiac Ct, Univ of Chicago & Maryland have Celiac Cts. It's not that bad. You need...
  8. Because the Church has said that only bread with wheat in it can be consecrated, my priest will only go for the low gluten ones. Your priest is a rebel.
  9. If the low gluten wafers made you sick, what was in the pyx?
  10. My mom is currently mad at me that I won't go out to eat. " you can have salad, steak & baked potato". Yes I can but maybe not at that restaurant. I have tried to explain cc many times and have given up. I could go on and on but why waste this beautiful day?
  11. Feel better? If only we could go to the police and get a restraining order. Can see it now: Me: I need a restraining order. He beat up my gut & gave me brain damage. As a result, I have intestinal damage & malnourishment & pain. Officer: Your husband/ boy friend sounds like a real winner. Let's get started on the paperwork...
  12. For myself, I wouldn't go. It's a party that's all about food and buying food making equipment. I would order from the catalog if I wanted something. I might come after the food demos to personally order and have a drink. I don't need to torture myself watching and smelling the food I can't eat. A regular party is a bit dIfferent. You can keep away...
  13. And I look at Hanky Panky's serious face and image he said it.
  14. Loose fitting pants or a skirt & some cranberry juice.
  15. So it either went really well, or he left you on the side of the road.
  16. Russel, the frog puppets are fab. When I was in high school and you were a wee baby or less, I took all the sewing classes available. I wanted to make costumes for Miss Piggy. When that didn't work out, I thought I would make my daughters lots of princess dresses. When that didn't work out, I did make a few Batman and cowboy costumes. Patti, I made...
  17. I wouldn't serve gluten for them either. I worry that they will take thier bread and then touch the lettuce or cheese. When my oldest has friends over to eat his Dad's hamburgers, I get my cheese, chips, etc first. When they leave I write on the leftover cheese package or chips "kids" so I don't forget & eat them. Have a nice visit!
  18. Sorry to break it to you but they are not really there to eat or see you. They are there for the grandbaby.
  19. Loved this from the FAQs: Most stupid question ever asked... Is MANFLU
  20. It's just " Dog bath time"!
  21. Can you bring food in your checked luggage or carry- on from the states to the Uk? Or Germany? Wondering as my hub's dad lives in Germany & he would like to visit him if possible.
  22. K8, I think you go for food you can prepare ahead and go completely gluten-free. That way you can safely eat the leftovers and not worry that someone who just picked up glutigenous food got crumbs on your carrot sticks. This is how I plan to handle the holidays and the staff party my hub feels he should host. Fortunately, they know about my my C D and...
