  1. 5'5. Just don't ask our weight!
  2. Having nothing to do with the topic at hand: I just had PB all melty on toast. Yum! All my life, I would have a PB sandwich or on toast and feel bloated and blechy for hours after. I could eat small amounts of PB straight from the jar. Just thought all the fat or something made it hard to digest. Not anymore! It was the bread all along!
  3. I don't like licking them, gluten or not. I wet my finger and use it to wet the glue.
  4. This is fascinating. Please keep posting. You might want to write Dr Greene at Columbia Univ. If anyone has heard about this, it would be him.
  5. The first few weeks I was gluten-free, I found corn and corn products hard to digest. After about 2 months, I was better able to eat it. I still try not to combine a lot of corn items and dairy in one day. I will have 2 tacos but no corn chex for breakfast. That sort of thing. I agree with the thought it could be food poisoning. Not everything is gluten...
  6. I love Toronto. Was there about 2 years ago. Can picture all this. What a mess. But I see that commerce must go on ... Eaton Center will bravely remain open. Lovely Science Center, too. We had much scientific fun.
  7. We weren't gluten-free at the time, but my 14 year old wouldn't eat baby food at all. He was 3 before his older bro convinced him pudding cups were big kid food. We did lots of simple food. Grill chicken on Sunday to use all week. You can put yours on a salad or with BBQ sauce. He can have it plain with a little gluten-free bread. Give him a few lettuce...
  8. Watch out, Jess. Sounds like you're getting to be an ole softy. . (love the medal idea- Hub might borrow it)
  9. I just checked all the stuff that"s closed in T.O. 10 Starbucks, bus schedules messed up, no trash pick- downtown, no patio dining, liquor stores closed....no wonder the citizens are rioting!
  10. Oh no! Peter's having my bad luck!
  11. Will the catastrophe happen within 24 hours? Maybe I'll take the wine & sit in a dry bath tub. That should be safe, right?
  12. Am replacing the whole heating & A/C in 2 weeks! Hope that counts. Don't think I can afford anything else. The kids shower periodically leaks but Hub just fixed it last weekend. Maybe I should just take some wine & hide in bed! Wait! I might spill it all over the bed!
  13. Rey-schell, he seems like a smart kid (maybe too smart). My kids tried to pull something & still occasionally try, I'ld ask them something to show them I was on to them. Like "show me the underwear". Then we would laugh and get the clean undies. Other one gets caught and feels bad but I don't think that's yours. If it gets too bad, hub is good with...
  14. That's disappointing! All the Thai Kitchen stuff at my grocery says gluten-free. Its not a frozen meal. They have some rice mixes you might try. There was another one next to it that had some varieties that said gluten-free I think it was Simply Asian.
  15. Shromie- How scary! You'll get used to the altitude quickly. I used to love to go up to Tahoe when it was 105 in the valley.
  16. They must be changing over and some sofa the older ones are still out there. Target had the Almond but the peanut ones didn't say gluten-free yet. So excited! I really liked the peanut ones. They weren't as cheap as regular granola type bars.
  17. Olestra is hard to digest. It is an oil type stuff used to fry. It is not used in baked chips that I have seen. It's in the low fat, lite type chips.
  18. Old thread but our I emailed are local dairies and their cottage cheese are gluten-free.
  19. I have never seen this on a bag of baked tostitos or Lays chips. What are you talking about? Can you give an actual example of the product and ingredients?
  20. I thought I was the only person who didn't like them.
  21. Post and let us know how it came out!
  22. Actually, Rey-schell, the boys (M, J & hub) are wondering if you have any new dessert recipes we could try out for you. J prefers chocolate but the rest of us like more flavors. I have 2 cookie recipes they and their friends love. They did like the choc cake very much.
