  1. Trying this again. I thought an Avatar was a blue creature in a movie. If this works we will see my Puppy (black) & his "aunt"
  2. Thanks Peter. You are always so knowledgable.
  3. Trying to get a picture to show up. First picture I tried said"too large". Second picture is OK & shows up on profile & in box at top of screen but now on my posts. Any thoughts? I'm not very good at the computer stuff.
  4. Twas trying to put a pic of my dog & his "aunt" (FIL dog). The pic shows up on my profile & at the top of my page. Might try again later when I've had my coffee. LIke the Olympic ceremony. Glad they didn't get to crazy. We were at Whistler last spring, so it will be fun to see them going down the same runs I went down.
  5. Trying to add a picture. I'm horrible at compooter stuff. Dungeon is cold today.
  6. Sherparding looks like it requires lots of alcohol & some great dogs. I think I shall become a shepherd.
  7. I'll probably make something in a crockpot next week. Unfortunately, the tortillas get all mushy & disappear! OOOH! AAH! Its a magic trick.
  8. Don't know how funny this is but I'm making tortilla soup right now - stove top.
  9. I think that counts. I am in awe of anyone who can make more then soup in a crockpot.
  10. They may be a bit lacking. One doesn't tie his shoes well - always coming untied in soccer & usually untied all day. Neither of them wear more then a sweeatshirt most days. They are good at shoveling snow, mowing & do handy work. They re-screened my porch. Hub & Puppy likes them. Can't stand a depressed Puppy.
  11. Unfortunately, they are not so advanced as to have finished High School so I probably should keep them around. At least for heavy lifting, opening jars & reaching the top cupboards. Like the shrine idea....
  12. If you have a Godfathers pizza near you, check to see if they do gluten free. I haven't had it yet but have checked with the company & it should be done right. I have a 17 year old son who is not Celiac (I am) & he has a friend that he is worried about. She is Celiac & doesn't take care of herself. He tries to get her to eat right & now...
  13. I know how you feel. I've been a stay home mom for 14 years & done the job too well, maybe. They really don't need me too much. They can fix food, grocery shop, do laundry & clean if they have to. The oldest can drive. I've been trying to think of what to do with the rest of my life. It seemed pretty hard a few months ago when I was always exhausted...
  14. Took the computer to the Geek Squad today. It has one of those viruses where it says "you have a virus. You must buy our program." Geeks said the computer is too old & not worth fixing. I'm now stuck fighting the teenagers to use the computer in the dungeon.
  15. Wondering if there is a listing of OTC meds like Tylenol that are gluten free?
  16. Does that big Sam head float? You could use it as an ark in the rain.
  17. Here in Kansas, I have only found Boars Head at the Deli counter. A limited number are gluten free but the slicing machine isn't, so thats out. But it looks like most of the prpacked stuff is gluten-free.
  18. While were on this subject: Does anyone know if Grand Marnier is gluten-free? I went to the website & it sounds like it probably is but for the "secret ingredients". I emailed them but they have ignored me.
  19. I'm just diagnosed. My 13 year old son asked today "Have you told anyone? Is this a secret?" I said it it not a secret because it is nothing to be ashamed of. However, I don't like to make a big deal or cause others a lot of extra work. If the people around you ask why your eating that or not eating, I think a brief "food Allergies" & if they want...
  20. Many years ago, when I was pregnant, my doctor told me about a patient who wasn't gaining. He had her keep nuts with her & eat them all day. Not sure if that will help. If you live anywhere near a medical school, you might get a second opinion there. Sometimes they are good for "odd" diseases. Good Luck.
  21. When you use maple syrup: Do you sub evenly for sugar? Do you have to make allowance for the extra liquid? UGH OH! Speaking of allowance - I owe the teens.
  22. I have been emailing the companies of lotions & cosmetics I like. Some of them have sent me a list of what chemical names to look for. Some want to know specifically which product. Try that.
  23. A Burly Robed Messanger sounds nice. I really am new to this - should know its Roberts Scarlet Grinder.
  24. Whats BRM stand for? I'm new to this & would like to find a tasty & healthy hot cereal.
  25. Sorry about the moo juice. My SIL has some food allergies & claims one of them is broccoli - so there's still hope.
