  1. Plastic spatulas, spoons, tupperware, colanders, etc can harbor gluten. You will need new ones. I got red spatulas, red-lidded plastic containers, measuring cups etc just for gluten-free. I got red duck tape to put on my jam, butter tub, etc. I got new pans. Use foil on old baking sheets (easier to clean up, too) Also, be aware that someone touching...
  2. Here's a question to ponder: Last nite, Hub scrubbed the grill since we haven't used it since I've been gluten-free. He said no Gluten could still be on there. He wondered what a Gluten would look like. I thought round lite blue with little spikes all round & a smile on its wee face. He thought it would look like Java the Hut from Star Wars. What...
  3. I'll whine with you. Even if the food the other people made had a safe ingredient list, you couldn't trust that it wasn't cross contaminated - crumbs at their house or utensils, etc. I didn't go to a school parent party because I haven't gotten to the point I can happily smile & not eat. Also, get tired of "Why aren't you eatting?" - My answer: Its...
  4. One of the guys who started First robotics is Dean Kamen who is known for inovations in artificial limbs. You have too much energy. The wee beasties will find a new way to get on your roof & eat your shingles. Doing mine tomorrow. Are we all on the same cycle?
  5. Those sounded like mighty strong & mighty delicious drinks!
  6. WOW! Everyone has been very busy cleaning & drinking. My son's team made it to the First Robotics finals & got 2nd place! (57 teams) I was so proud as he has done most of the designing & building of the mechanicals for the last 3 years.
  7. Maybe a job in a GI office? Would meet lots of guys with gut issues. Maybe Celiac.com could start a dating/matchmaking forum.
  8. Better get typing then! What I wanted to put under my new picture is: Robot Guts Yes, I know....sounds very intelligent.
  9. Wanted to put a title under the pic like some of you have but could'nt figure where to do that.
  10. I have missed much as I have been away to the Robot Wars (FRIST Robotics Competition). Looks like our school will be in the finals today! To summerize briefly as I haven't much time: Ballcocks - Hee Hee Major post - Congrats Phlugue - get better soon Cough - What the French Toast? Skeeter - poor kid PI Rachelle - good...
  11. Got this response back already. It seems reasonable. Thank you for contacting us about gluten in Progresso soup. General Mills offers several products that are labeled gluten-free. Please check the package label for the gluten-free statement on the front/side/back of the package. Only products that can be verified to be gluten free will be declared...
  12. Yeah...its that kind of church. Never knew anyone with malaria. Much cooler than the flu or virus.
  13. The 2 teens that always sit in front of us in church for 15 years, have pumps. The girl's big problem is where to put the little pump box on her cute teenager clothes. Brother has plenty of room in his baggy big pocketed khakis. Maybe the solution is to wear big baggy teen boy pants.
  14. What wonderful posts! A + for all!
  15. Patti - I was looking for the post where you said what kind of instant potatoes you use. I want to try that chicken recipe. Trying to search the posts is hard. Thanks.
  16. Just went to the Progresso website. Left a comment to thank them for labeling gluten-free & asked if some of the other soups might be labeled like that in the future. Let you know if I hear anything back.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. I've been gluten-free about 3 weeks. Last Sat, 17 yr old son said "let's get pizza!" Then I think he realized what he was saying because he got a sheepish look & looked at the floor. Weather was bad but Dad said "we can go out boys." Fortunately, I thought of gluten-free Godfathers so all were happy. Then he was going to get burger & fries from...
  19. Your not too busy are you? LOL I get them occasionaly & heard somewhere they were from low potassium. Ate a couple of bananas & they went away.

  21. AAAAAAGGGHHHHH!
  22. Karen feels bad for R that she is hacking, wheezing & goobering. Karen hopes she is able to get out & breathe some good humid air to clear out her passages. Karen wishes to thank Patti for reminding Karen that she needs to put in some laundry. Puppy is going to take Karen out for a walk soon as it is sunny & 40.
