  1. I don't know your exact people in your office so this may not work but: I worked in an office where we teased each other trying not to be mean. If you tell a couple of the more friendly employees about it, maybe they will help shush the others. Like they tell middle school kids : if evryone refuses to participate with the bully, its not fun. But going to...
  2. Sandsurf - I understand. Its frustrating because I was the one who brought food & goodies that everyone wanted the recipes. I'll have to make different stuff now. I do worry that even if I bring the stuff, "glutinous fingers will poison it" (my 14 year old says that when he wants to use his fingers). Its frustrating because all family gatherings...
  3. Road Trip!
  4. As long as its Gluten free pie.
  5. Got this from Elephant Bar: Thank you for taking the time to fill out a customer comment. At this point, we don't feel comfortable to recommend any food items on our menu with the mentioned criteria of gluten free. We are currently working on a gluten free menu but that has not been finalized yet. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I will definitely...
  6. I don't even want to think about what would start with a k sound for my name.
  7. Having dealt with mental issues with a family member, maybe I can help a little. You can't force a person into treatment but you can take them there & they might stay. Be firm that you will not bring him home. Tell his friends that if he calls for a ride home to say no. However, the main way to get someone admitted for pysch is they have to bottom...
  8. 14 yr old still likes snakes & reptiles but gets it out of system by working at a summer day camp. Mine are also interested in Robotics & cars. Not good hobbies to meet girls. (sigh of relief)
  9. I've heard that is an excellant hospital. My cousins have taken kids there with rare conditions & gotten help. Teenage boys are still boys just larger & they like girls. Train them now to be helpful & its easier to get them to do stuff later. 10 year old should do his own laundry for example. Maybe he would like a rat. Not...
  10. I'm so sorry. It sounds like you were lucky to know her & she to know you.
  11. I understand what Tiffany said. There has to be a number, something to measure. We then have to be sure we don't eat "40" like Jess said. We will have to be vigilant to what a serving is per the packaging, not what we would usually eat. I know that what I think is a serving of cereal in my bowl is usually closer to 2. I think this problem has come up...
  12. If you can have cheese, they have individually wrapped pieces at Costco & I saw some at the grocery. I took corncakes, cheese, deli meat & baby spinach & made little sandwiches. Might get a letter from a doctor incase you get trouble about the food. There are Lara Bars, Kind bars, & different gluten-free granola type bars. I also, took...
  13. Good luck. Let us know how your doing.
  14. Wonder if you took out the marjoram & basil, used a little cinnamon, clove, ginger ot nutmeg & sprinkled with cinnamon sugar before cooking.....
  15. Last spring break, when we were in Vancouver & Whistler every one was so nice & polite. A couple of people told me that they were asked by the local goverment to be very nice to tourists so Canada can have our money in this bad economy.
  16. Look on thier website or the back of the package. They say in big letters wheat. However, most flavors seem OK so maybe you can look at the gluten-free list & try some other flavors. I was surprised when I checked just now, howmany flavors are OK. I love chips! I had thought that most flavors are off limits. thanks for making me look! My thighs...
  17. My boys at that age shared "special" food (like some god-awful blue candy advertised on TV) at lunch. This was a friend making thing in grade school. Maybe some days she can share some of her cookies or pretzels or even normal candy. That way she is participating. Also, if I knew a kid in the group couldn't have something, I tried to send treats they...
  18. Most varieties of worms are coated & fried in oil that may also have been used to fry cockroaches & ants. Caution is advised.
  19. My boys are 14 & 17. Older one would have liked a tarantula or snake, younger - a large lizard. We decided we couldn't take care of them to keep them happy. Have had rescued rodents: a rat & several guinea pigs. Never a giant squid or cute kitten. Lizard might eat kitten?
  20. I'm seriously worried for Dada's child. What kind of catalog does that child have & does he save his allowance & toothfairy money to purchase stuff like that egg? That video is not too far off from the truth. ON the way from Missouri to Las Vegas (then to reno) they felt the person who should have an extra pat-down was my 14 year old son traveling...
  21. He was probably just curious. This shows that he may be keeping up with current info on eliacs. It seems to be more common in Irish descent but is not exclusive to the Irish.. I actually read a study in a medical journal (can't remember where) about a researcher looking at ethnic origin.
  22. If the "court" told you to suck it up, I would make sure that the lawyers on both sides saw the note. They will ask you in front of everyone questions like: Do you know the parties involved? What do you think of tattoos (if the defendent has lots?) Is there a reason you can not serve? (Saw a potential juror ask to have that question repeated 3 times...
  23. This sounds fabulous! Actually better then Sex on a beach as there is no annoying sand.
  24. I saw this, maybe on this site: A girl brings her own pancake mix, bowl & magic pancake pan to sleepovers & fixes them for all. Also, when my kids stayed over, they always get pizza. Maybe you could offer to bring a gluten-free pizza at the same time as the other pizzas. Or they could get Godfather's or some other place with gluten-free pizza...
