  1. But not me! How great! A pet supply store! That's a fun business. In fact, my pet requires supplies today or he will go hungry.
  2. If it rains? Do you float away? Or rain just takes the psilly out of ya? By the way, Peter: My 14 year old son thinks you are the coolest person on da book. You are such a high level in Mafia Wars. He & some friends tried it but don't have the attention span & that pesky school gets in the way.
  3. Nothing psilly to report here. Weather beautiful. Plans finally finalized for National Robotic competition in Atlanta next week. Apparently our team has been put in a grouping with the 2 best teams in the world to play with &/or against. Hub gets the pleasure, as the official team mentor, of riding the 14 hour bus ride down & back with the kids...
  4. You are the Martha Stewart of Celiac! I am 20 years older than you & trying to become you. I know that it doesn't really cost us more with me being gluten-free. We are fortunate that we don't have to stick to a tight grocery budget but I still don't like to waste money. I had a diagnosed crazy MIL. She wasn't mean just a pain. I have a bordering...
  5. She may actually be insane. I didn't realize she had a husband. Son needs to talk to Dad alone. Then talk to her doctors. They may be able to get her committed for a short time to get evaluated. I had a MIL with mental issues & we had to do this. Here you needed 2 doctors to agree & next of kin. Hub should tell them about the time you know...
  6. I don't think this has anything to do with your illness or howmuch money you spend. This woman would find something else to complain about. You & your husband need to greatly limit your exposure to her. She is just plain mean. Your husband needs to be the one to talk to her and tell her that her behavior is awful & he won't be around it. If ...
  7. You should talk with your OB. I would think that you would need to worry about getting dehydrated fron the v & d.
  8. Be careful about the cookies you serve him!!
  9. Just read all that club business again & am still laughing. Do you have a good gluten-free sugar cookie recipe? My neighbor got a cookie cutter for her 40th in a shape that would be good for this club's snacks.
  10. I looked a couple of things from them & they listed wheat. I don't know if every product would have it.
  11. i'm laughing so hard I can hardly type.

    ARCHIVED So Pissed!

I would think food would be safest in a place where the people care about the job. Most of these fast food & fast casual have many employees who really don't want to be there & don't care about thier jobs. Not all but a big enough number to make me worried.
  13. I don't know how old your kids are so I'm not sure how much they can help themselves. I have put all the bread, crackers, cereal & gluton toaster on or under 1 counter. They try to make sandwiches, pour out crackers, etc on that counter. They can then eat at the table or take the crackers to the basement "play area". Mine are 17 & 14 so they can...
  14. Thanks. My mom's not mean about this, she's just confused. She doesn't cook anymore, anyway. I usually cook things & bring to her & my dad. Would be nice to have someone else cook for me that doesn't stress me out. Hub tries but I still have to watch like a hawk. I pretend I'm just getting a spoon for my coffee or something & keep an eye...
  15. This is what I understand distilling means: Its like when you make chicken soup. You open the lid & the steam comes out. It smells like chicken soup but there are no pieces of chicken or carrots in the steam. When they distill liquor or vinegar - they catch that steam & when it cools, it turns back into liquid. The big chunks it came from don...
  16. I was thinking something like that but didn't want to be the one to say it.
  17. I'm just sitting here & shaking my head. Ahhh... Family. My mom has gone the opposite way. She thinks I can't have lots of things. Now that I think about they are all mostly white things - sugar, milk, yogurt. My mom knows how to cook so she should know better. Ahhhh...Family
  18. Pets are a bit like teenagers: Its amazing the things they can do if they have the right motivation. & That motivation is usally food for both pets & teens.
  19. Cooking for her is great! I tell my boys this every time they complain that they have to fix thier own food.
  20. Is this for real? Is it some kind of weird ad? If its for real, I would gladly take the survey & give the $50 to my local Celiac group.
  21. What about Naturally gluten-free Napa? I like Napa & wine is naturally gluten-free. Maybe we could take over the area for our city. With California's financial woes, we might be able to get it cheap.
  22. Your missing an important component of Spring Break - sleeping late.
  23. Yeah Jason! I would think that telling a new girl about parasites & other gastric issues might be a bit of a turn-off. Maybe you could find a place that has something you can eat & talk to them ahead. When she asks why your eating plain chicken & cooked carrots, you may have to tell her you have some food allergies to sort out. Or your trying...
  24. Do like I do - don't put your self on your Av. Put up the dogs feet. Do you paint thier toenails?
