ARCHIVED Deep Fryer And Cc
kareng replied to Canadian Girl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Unfortunately, you can't kill gluten, it isn't alive. You can burn it completely up at about 600 degrees. I think fryers are 350 -400 degrees. -
I have a lab so he'll eat gravel with a little chicken broth if I put it in his food bowl. You could try putting a little rice or olive oil in with it at first. Or something else they like. Usually vets say to "wean them off" one food. Give them 3/4 regular food & 1/4 new, then 1/2 & 1/2, etc. For about a week -10 days. I feed Blue Buffalo...

Never had a rutabaga either. Anything covered in enough cheese is usually good. Someone here tried to get permission to have chickens but it keeps getting denied. If I got a couple of the silkies, might be able to convince people they were a new breed of dog. Maybe a chicken could go under the deck & get them. Tried the sweet... -

We are dealing with "random ants". That's what the High School kids are calling them. Everyone has them this year. Random ants are the 2 or 3 you see in weird places looking for food. If they find it, they go home & tell the others. This is the first year we have had really big ones in the house. When the sugar ants got bad a couple of years ago... -

I hurt my knee a year ago skiing. Not bad enough to be treated but annoying. Wouldn't completely go away. After being gluten-free for 2 weeks, it really got better. Still hurts a little when I do a lot but almost gone. Also, the scent of lemon is good for nausea. Suck on a lemon drop or sniff some lemon juice. -
Never thought about the gluten in dog food until recently. Realized that when my dogs over the years were switched to rice based - no wheat - they did better. No gas, bettter poops, etc Might check the shampoos & conditioners used on them. Some have wheat proteins which make the fur beautiful by leaving a coating on it. Got one with oats & I...

Edys/Dreyers ice cream has a list of which ice creams have gluten & its the ones with the obvious ingredients like cookie dough or brownie pieces. I have found from reading ice cream containers that most seems to be gluten-free, especially the simple flavors. Probably wouldn't get it any where they scoop it out as cones tend to break & fall in. They...

Maybe you caught a virus or a touch of food poisoning? Its possible to eat the same dish as others & get the one part that has bacteria growing. Also, you (we) may be a bit more succeptable to these things or get hit harder by them. My MD doesn't seem to know much about celiac disease but he did think I should stay away from kids when a stomach virus...

ARCHIVED Looking For Good Frozen Pizza
kareng replied to farmwife67's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sorry to all the waist lines I may have altered. We used to make fruit pizza with sugar cookie dough & I liked it but thought it was too sweet. Some people sweeten cream cheese & put it on as the first layer but we were trying to go DF here. -

Sounds like the Ore-Ida ingredients. Unless your allergic on top of celiac disease, should be fine. I've had them & the fat steak fries. But what the heck is sodium acid phosphosphate? And why do potatoes need it? Maybe to keep from getting brown? The stuff they put in food .... -
Apparently, my dog was gluten-free before I was. I saw the ads for gluten-free dog food & thought "How silly." Unless you have a little one that plays with the food. Finally looked at the ad & found that's the food my dog eats! We should probably all eat it: whole grain rice, carrots, blueberries, chicken, etc. The gas he had at the rescue house...

Thanks. The taking over the yard aspect may keep us from getting some. We do have a raised planting box that might work.

I like the Kinnicuck (spelling?). You could try your crust with olive oil & garlic. Like a bread stick. I worked at a pizza place that made a scrambled egg pizza - marinara & eggs or some combo of eggs, peppers, etc. What about butter/margarine & cinnamon sugar? Cook the crust & then make a fruit pizza - fruits "artfully" arranged with... -
My Hub just saw a garden store ad for blueberries or raspberries. How easy are raspberries to grow? We are lazy gardeners.

I do it to help kids learn to appreciate the enviroment & nature. Its fun to see an 8 year old who won't get near a bug - catching them & examing them & forgetting they are supposed to be afraid. Showing 8th graders how to test for what's in the water that is going into our drinking water, etc, Either that or the celiac disease has given... -

Next time cough or sneeze on the food under your nose. I would not have eaten it. I would have left the table & the house. Some people are mean & if it wasn't this she would find something else. Sometimes we need to keep our distance from toxic people, even our parents. Please remember this if you are ever tempted to leave small children... -

This happens often enough here that you would think people would remember that 4 times a year, the road to work floods. Duh! Definitely there are days. Even scared a turtle on a log 100 feet away, 25 feet down, accross the river. Kids had fun & behaved very well. They got great pictures to work with in the classroom. -

Good morning! It looks to be a beautiful spring day. An about to go out into the "forest" with a bunch of 5th graders as they take pictyres of geometric shapes in nature. In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight... Ok...if we are lucky & the noisy kids don't scare every animal in a 3 county area... we might see a deer. -

Might but Barysnikov was known for his "love of women". Very clever. Made my 14 yr old watch. He liked it. Beautiful day here. Guy across the street must sit & rev his motorcyle repeatedly on his driveway.
