I am wondering that as well. I am pretty sure that it will probably be gluten-free but it might cause problems for those with soy problems as silk is known for its soy milk and it might be produced on the same lines. It would be nice to have another brand available rather than just Blue Diamond. I wonder if this one will have carageenan in it as well... -

Sherry: "Brain fog" ... it's something you know you had when it's no longer there. It's a feeling of not not being very sharp, feeling kind of fuzzy, and generally tired. But you know more what is was when it's no longer there. -

There is sometimes caramel coloring in ginger ale but in the US, unless is specifies wheat, it is made from corn. It could be the carbonation, maybe? If you have a stomach which is more on the sensitive side, the carbonation may be upsetting it? Carbonation always made my stomach growl at me. It's one of the main reasons that I rarely drink... -

Yes, most definitely. I have had two lumps of tissue (I read that they are cysts) for about 25 years (about the same time as I was experiencing all these problems). They are now shrinking a lot. I expect them to go away within the year, I hope. Inflammation can very systemic!!

Um, Hercules, soy sauce is fermented with wheat and usually contains gluten. Unless they made it with gluten-free soy sauce. Other than that it looks okay. ~Allison -

The flattened villi is most defintiely celiac disease. But everything else you mentioned is indicative of it as well. There are about 300 symptoms associated with Celiac. Has your doctor run a thyroid test too? Some of what you have mentioned can be linked to hypothyroidism. He should also test your B12 levels. Low ferratin is not the only cause... -

Hi WP: That is a lot of coffee!! Even though the coffee is decaf, it tends to be very acidic and it can irritate your stomach. I had to give up any kind of coffee. I hadn't heard that either. But I don't know everything about this at all. Just to say that sources of iodine are few - and fish and seaweed are the best natural sources. I don't think that iodine is related to ferratin levels. Ferratin levels are iron content in the blood. Iodine isn't in a lot of stuff, which is why they tend to iodize salt. I take Nature's Way kelp once a day. It's 660 mg of kelp. The capsule is made of gelatin, but that's all it says. Can gelatin be sourced from corn? The packaging doesn't specify. That's true. The only test that I can think of to diagnose gluten intolerance is the Enterolab tests and the genetic markers. I hope that at some point there will be tests for gluten intolerance. It would give even more answers to those who don't have auto-immune celiac and may prevent more misery to people earlier on. ~Allison -

I thought that was the going theory, Jestgar Celiac is genetic and auto-immune but gluten intolerance just is? No? There is lots of research into celiac but not much at all into "simple" gluten intolerance. ~Allison -

Sean: If you do have celiac, then you need to stay on the gluten, sadly, otherwise it will skew the tests, as Raven has commented. Gluten intolerance is not auto-immune like celiac.
