  1. I do use a number of BRM products like tapioca starch/flour, potato starch, corn flour, rice flours, etc...all of which are single flours or starches and not blends. I also like their gluten-free rolled oats. That said, I don't care for their all-purpose flour or their bread or cake and cookie mixes. But overall, I prefer baking from scratch and not using...
  2. Welcome to the forum! My daughter lives in Denver and likes to shop at Whole Foods although she also shops at Safeway and Target. That said, she doesn't eat many processed foods. Your best bet right now is to concentrate on a whole foods diet...think fresh fruits, veggies, meats/fish, eggs and dairy if you can handle it (many of us were lactose intolerant...
  3. How about Pamela's? I don't know what it contains though. I know the King Arthur gluten-free brownie mix doesn't have soy.
  4. Trayne, when is your follow-up appointment with your GI? Bring the pictures with you and he/she will be able to explain them to you. By that time the pathology report will also be available so make sure you get a copy of it.
  5. Have you tried the Betty Crocker gluten-free brownie mix? I really like it and even gluten eaters like it, too (like my son, who does not have celiac).
  6. The Bob's Sweet Stripes I buy are soft mints. Here's a link to the Open Original Shared Link. There's also a contact button if you want more info but I've never had a problem with them. I got mine at RiteAid but haven't bought them since Christmas. They're too addictive. Lifesavers are made by Wrigley's. Contact info Open Original Shared Link. and...
  7. Congrats, Suziq! How about peppermint Lifesavers? I also like Bob's Sweet Stripes...actually I like them too much!!!
  8. I got the same board message as Karen and I did previously
  9. Hold down the ALT button and press Print Screen (which is above the numeric thingie on my keyboard. Then I took it into a graphics program and right clicked "Paste as New Image". I happen to use Paint Shop Pro. Sorry, I have a feeling this is clear as mud.
  10. I got the same message. I have screen shots of my two comments but have no clue how to post them (they're saved on my desktop for now). Would we have to upload them to photo bucket or one of those sites?
  11. It's not on my profile at all. It probably would only be there if I'd friend them. That ain't gonna happen. And why one post shows up and the other doesn't is puzzling. If you pull up the link, can you see either of my posts? As you can tell I'm not a FB person...basically I'm only on because I want to see what my kids are up to. Edit: My first...
  12. I not much of a FB user, but I have a question. When I just pull up the comments for the last posts, my first comment does not show up, which tells me it has been deleted. When I log in, it does show up. Do they make posts invisible except to the poster? Surprisingly my last comment is still there and hasn't yet been deleted. Here's the direct link
  13. Here's my first post on Dominos FB page (posted a couple of hours ago). It seems to have "disappeared": "I have celiac disease and find it an abomination that a company like Dominos would come out with a pseudo gluten-free pizza. It will not be safe for me or anyone else diagnosed with celiac. While the crust may indeed be gluten-free, the risk of cross...
  14. When I posted just 25 minutes ago, there were 274 comments. There are now 268. No question they are deleting posts they consider unfavorable. I'm sure it's just a matter of time until they delete mine.
  15. I just posted on Dominos FB page and kept a copy of what I wrote. I'll be checking back to see if they delete my post.
  16. When I had my EGD, my GI dr. said I had gastritis, which is just another word for inflammation. And the photos I came home with showed the same. So I think it's pretty common. I hear you on the colonoscopy prep...it sucks but I survived. Make sure you pick up copies of the pathology reports when you go back to see the doctor for your follow-up...
  17. How about buckwheat? Not sure it would work well but I found up Wolff's Kasha at my local Wal-Mart (it was in the section with Jewish foods). Lundberg also makes some interesting rice blends. I've had their Wild Blend and it's good.
  18. Welcome to the forum, hobbitqueen! I find this site to be very useful. Open Original Shared Link It's maintained by a pharmacist and is updated frequently. At my local Rite Aid pharmacy, the pharmacist is always willing to call the manufacturer if necessary.
  19. Lisa, I use Jules' pizza crust recipe as well as her flour. http://blog.julesglu.../2011/02/pizza/ I've also made the foccacia using the same recipe.
  20. Pizza...thankfully I had frozen a crust last time I made it.
  21. It is the yummiest! I will only make it when I have to provide a dessert for something. And I have frozen it, too...it's just a bit more dense but freezes well.
  22. What do you bake, Suzin? It seems every recipe I've read always calls for a combination of flours and starches. I'm curious as last week a non-celiac friend baked something with just rice flour and she it was a total failure.
  23. Stef, I'm in south central PA and my local Wal-Marts have large displays of Misson Brand products near the frozen foods/produce sections. Giant Foods should also have them. While I'd read the label, I would think anti-caking agents would be gluten-free.
  24. I've used this recipe for Open Original Shared Link from the King Arthur website. It doesn't sound quite as decadent as the one Skylark posted but I've never had a problem getting it out of a regular round layer cake pan. I followed their directions and used a circle of greased parchment on the bottom and the sides can easily be loosened without a problem...
