  1. Their gluten-free yellow cake mix is a new product.
  2. Welcome, Solandra! Well, you could bake something so delicious that your co-workers would be envious of what you're eating and wish they could skip the bagels!
  3. I doubt my inexpensive white wine ever saw a barrel sealed with wheat paste. Really, it's one of the celiac myths floating around out there.
  4. I don't think you need to replace everything. My rule of thumb was that if I could get it clean, I kept it. If not, out it went. But then I had some really ancient pans. So I found an excuse to buy new. I doubt your frosting tips would be a danger. At least I never made decorator icing that had flour in it. I kept my cookie sheets as they had only...
  5. While I don't recall your previous posts, why does he need to be sugar-free?
  6. And just where are your facts to say that KC Masterpiece is NOT gluten-free? Modified food starch is safe. I'd use KC Masterpiece except that I prefer Sweet Baby Ray's. Just because it's not labeled gluten-free, you can't assume it contains gluten. Wheat, for instance, would have to be declared on the label. Open Original Shared Link
  7. I was one of the lucky ones who did not experience withdrawal symptoms when I went gluten-free the day of my endoscopy, Some people do; others do not. I did not have a lot of pain when diagnosed...only the big D, which was bad enough. I do think we become more sensitive after we've been diagnosed and go gluten-free. Sometimes we find other intolerances...
  8. I get the message, [#10171] You do not have permission to view this attachment.
  9. Diana, was regular soy sauce used in the beef and broccoli? We can drive our families nuts...as well as our friends. It sure sounds like you are going through withdrawal.
  10. When we go gluten-free, I think we become even more sensitive to very tiny amounts of gluten. Our bodies can be pretty wonky at first and it seems like we can react to most anything and everything. Are you lactose intolerant? Many of us have to give up dairy products for awhile. That said...what did you have for dinner last night?
  11. Welcome, Mike! You've gotten several suggestions already. Your best bet is to buy a lot of naturally gluten-free foods and avoid the expensive processed stuff. You might also want to use the google button in the top right hand corner and search for cheap meals or budget meals to get some ideas. We are periodically asked your same question and you'll...
  12. You're welcome! Just because it's not on the list, doesn't necessarily mean it's not safe...but you might want to check it out further.
  13. Can you call the doctor's office, who ordered the blood tests, and go pick up a copy? If you've already had the celiac panel and the biopsy, you can go gluten-free right now without waiting for the pathology report as going gluten-free won't interfere with any other testing your doctors may want to do. When you have your follow-up appointment with your...
  14. For a starter, we just can't believe everything we hear or read on the internet or on a forum...you really need to check it out yourself. I looked up Clonazepan and these manufacturer's are gluten-free: Clonazepam (Apotex, Caraco, Mylan, Sandoz, Watson) Clonazepam Disintegrating Tabs (Barr, Par) Your prescription bottle should list the name of...
  15. You might want to check Open Original Shared Link, which is maintained by a pharmacist and updated frequently. Lexapro, Remeron and Xanax (the brand names) are all gluten-free. For generics you can check to see what companies are listed. There may be other sites, too, but this is the one I use the most.
  16. Once the biopsy is done, there's really no reason to wait to go gluten-free. Whatever the test results are, it will not affect any other type of testing your GI or PCP might want to do. You might notice improvements in your child long before you have the follow-up appointment and pathology report in your hands.
  17. Oh...there you are!I saw you posted today in the coping section! Thats a relief..thought I lost you...now...if I can just find Kareng...LOL!Shes rather elusive sometimes...but a riot to talk to!;)

    COUGIE ;)

  19. Welcome to the forum, Oria! After being gluten-free for two years, I have yet to attempt to convert a regular recipe to gluten-free. Too chicken, I guess. Depending on the recipe you want to use will make a lot of difference. I think yeast breads would be really difficult....lots of us have baked more than our share of bricks even using gluten-free recipes...
  20. I think it's beyond just soy sauce...how about those won-ton noodles and lo mein, etc. The possibility for cross-contamination would be huge. I really do miss being able to pick up take-out at our local Chinese restaurants.

    ARCHIVED Thank You

Congrats, Cathey! Hopefully you've seen a great improvement being gluten-free for six months!!!
  22. Generally shredded or grated cheese would be dusted with potato starch and/or corn starch as anti-caking agents, both of which are gluten-free. I still read the label though but I doubt cheese would be dusted with any gluteny flour as that would make a gluey sticky mess. Edit: Mission brand corn tortillas are very easy to find in Wal-Mart and lots of...
  23. The only Breyers I've seen that's lactose-free is vanilla. I've also seen it at local grocery stores. I was buying Lactaid milk but know other brands are also available. I believe Lactaid also makes ice cream but I haven't looked for it...and thankfully I'm no longer lactose intolerant. I bet it would be difficult to beat homemade ice cream!
  24. If it's lactose and not casein, Breyers does make a lactose-free ice cream. I picked up some at Wal-Mart shortly after I was diagnosed (price is the same as the other Breyers).
