I like Earth Balance and they do make a soy-free version. I bought it right after I went gluten-free but found I could tolerate butter well so for me now, butter is it! -

It looks like the cinnamon is it. I bet you could add some more spices though like a tad of cloves, ginger and possibly nutmeg. Actually it sounds rather good...as if I need those calories! -

There are several different flavors of Stax but I always seem to buy the plain ones. And I always buy mine from my local Wal-Mart for $1.00 each (they're in containers similar to Pringles, which are not gluten-free). Lay's Stax are marked gluten-free whereas the other Lay's products are not as far as I know so ??? I don't happen to have any Stax in my pantry so I don't know what the packaging says. -

I'd put my money on the gluteny pasta. While parmesan cheese has casein in it, it would have very little, if any, lactose. Some of us are lactose intolerant and for some that goes away after being gluten-free for awhile. -

I guess my question would be: Can you stay on a strict gluten-free diet without a diagnosis? I'm not saying you'd get an "official" diagnosis if you went through all the testing as you've already read on this forum. But if later on you would want to get the celiac panel and endoscopy, you'd really have to eat the equivalent of approx. 4 pieces of bread... -

Glad you are feeling better! I think many of us have ups and downs occasionally so I'd like to think I'm normal. I don't have fat malabsorption so don't know the relationship between it and night blindness. I do know that I can't see well to drive at night and therefore avoid it like the plague. But since your test is two years old, things could change and you may be positive today so the celiac panel should be run again. Sheesh, girl, you're in the prime of life...don't believe those naysayers! It is not a natural part of aging to feel old and decrepit at the age of 45!!! My daughter is 45 and is in grad school, training to run a half-marathon, is hypo-thyroid, anemic and was diagnosed with celiac in Aug., 2010. The tuna cans I've seen here in the U.S. don't have the type of bottoms that can be removed (not knowing if they are available depending on brand). Do they in Canada? The muffin top pan I bought makes 6 hamburger buns and costs around $15 on Amazon. Perfect size for a burger. ETA: I do have English muffin rings but have not yet used them. -

You may very well be able to use your favorite bread recipe to make buns/rolls. I've occasionally made a single roll just to test it to see if various bread recipes would work. Sorry that you are feeling so ill...not fun! If I was nauseous, I'd be inclined to have some chicken and rice soup (or just broth with rice in it). Would that work for you? I'd probably also sip a coke or ginger ale as I find that to be soothing for me but don't know if that would work for you.

Does it have oats in it? If so and it's not marked gluten-free, it would be suspect. Cross-contamination is a huge problem for oats from growing, harvesting, transporting and manufacturing. No Publix stores around me... -

I've seen that, too, but don't remember who posted it. A lot of the Cake Mix Doctor's gluten-free recipes use instant pudding mix. Or I've seen sour cream, etc. Guess it would be to add moisture as some of these cakes dry out quickly. -
Guess I'm lazy but I use either gluten-free Bisquick or Pamela's Baking & Pancake Mix. Wonder if leaving the batter out all night would be similar to what you'd do for making the starter for sourdough bread, etc. The link you posted sounds like a lot more work than pancakes should be (unless, of course, that you have a dietary reason for using these...
