  1. thanks for sharing - wonderful!
  2. new here too! welcome. the recipe and product forum is filled with great info
  3. if you get the book that I recommended it has tips as well. My link from the about part of the book: "Straightforward, practical advice for taking control of the symptoms, minimizing the disabilities, and maximizing the advantages of adult ADD. There is a great deal of literature about children with attention deficit disorder, ADD. But what...
  4. Jenny, try this at home and see if you see any improvement. if there is a fructose issue and the child has a infection in his/her gut - it might not work... but, get rid of apples, pears, grapes, etc in her daily diet. stick with berry fruits or bananas as the glucose content is higher than the fructose content. avoid spaghetti sauce and anything...
  5. I do. but he is only in the initial stages of celiac. goes for endoscopy wednesday. On the medicating aspect, the only shot out I can say is if she had diabetes - would you not medicate her if she needed it? The ADD aspect of it is a chemical inbalance and it needs balancing out. I put my son on it when he was in 2nd grade and it greatly improved his...
  6. MRM - make sure they do sealants on her permanent. Son has to have them put on.

    ARCHIVED Doctor'S "Diagnosis"

have a doctor maybe try the hydrogen breath test. that tests for fructose issues and my daughter has that and she bloated horribly when she was pre-diagnosed. not saying that is what it is...but maybe good to test for it?
  8. haven't done it but I would learn really quick if it cost me 20 bucks a pop to go in and not even see a doctor. good luck!
  9. oh my gosh! I wish I would have known this!! My son's teeth do not form enamel on all of them. and here we test for celiac next week through the biopsy. I am sitting here trying to scrape my jaw off the floor. wow. all these indicators that I missed...wah!
  10. on Wed the 17th. He is a bit nervous, but will do fine. He is 12 - almost 13. They will be putting him completely out for this. His blood levels were TGG AGA - 22 (10 was line I guess) and his TGG IGA was 27 (9 was line). so his levels were high considering the limit. I have not elminated gluten yet and GI doc said good for the endo results...
  11. interesting. thanks. no clue on the tax stuff, so good to look into.
  12. I have been sitting here thinking. My son's TGG&AGA rang high, and his TTGand IGG rang high. He has low Vit D. Now, I have never been tested for celiac I don't believe. But I have anemia (severe) and constant fatigue. I don't want to say that I am, but it makes you wonder. Some of the symptoms are familiar. Maybe going on this diet...

    ARCHIVED Seizures

I give him Vit D pills. I have liquid that I give the youngest (who is four). My other kids I have upped their Vit D because of the lack of sun here in the Pacnw. So, even though I was supplementing him prior to the Vit D test, he was still showing a lower level. I will have to look into the Carlson drops. Thanks!
  15. Love the ideas - thanks! Also, look into buying 1/4 or even half of a animal (pig/cow). We do and it saves so much money in the long run. plus I know what goes into them (is my in-laws I get from). plus it just tastes better.
  16. fructose malabsorption? a lot of folks have different reactions (poop-wise). it is diagnosed through a hydrogen breath test. when they did my daughters, they also found that she had an infection in her intestine, which I guess you can only find out about through that test too.

that is really interesting and something to be aware of! Thank you for sharing. On a side note, my son has a low vit d intake as well. interesting.
  18. Was it label reading? Was it finding gluten-free foods that were actually tasteful? I haven't even started. Wanted to wait until his GI appt so we don't alter results by going gluten-free now. I am so scared I won't be able to do this. It is hard enough that I have one child that we have to watch for fructose intake. anything someone...
  19. browsing through all the info....eek

  20. but does anyone have a tried and true recipe for a gluten free pizza dough recipe? Much thanks!
  21. Hi Jeepmom! Our home is probably going to go this route as well. I just don't know how it will work with my daughter (10) who is also fructose intolerant as some of the foods would cross... I swear my DH has this as well. He is lactose intolerant but has begun having major bowel issues and even had a colonoscopy last year. His sisters removed glutten...
  22. I agree. stressing over something?
