  1. Hunger was the only negative side effect for us. Be careful to stay away from the prepackaged snack treats. Muffins , cupcakes etc... really empty calories and sugar highs and lows follow. use popcorn or veggies for fillers and go light on the dairy .
  2. A few ideas Peanut butter cookies with jam in the middle, yum great! Jam on pancakes or waffles warmed over vanilla ice cream On corn bread , I eat it this way all the time
  3. BTW there is a website call SS & gluten-free ( sugar substitute and Gluten free) additionally they have other allergen free recipes. I have only made 1 recipe from it but they were good cookies.
  4. Many gluten-free recipes call for agave and Honey. I have never seen a gluten-free recipe call for a sugar substitution like Stevia.
  5. Most people know they are spending their money on the receiving organization more so than the item. So , yes I would buy them if it was a charity I was supporting. I would start your signage with that in mind. ie: " Support our great cause and buy these delicious homemade cupcakes made Allergen free with extra LOVE "

  8. My Indian friend makes this fantastic lemon rice if you google Indian recipes you will find it. I have made it without the mustard seeds, daal and cumin seeds and it was still very good. Basically it's onion saut
  9. Simple answer is NO it's not true in anyway.
  10. You could also do a rice and red beans , flavor it up with some cumin, chilipowder, garlic powder salt and pepper. My sister adds a jar of salsa to hers but I prefer to spice it up. It will keep at room temp for awhile. Add a meat and its a meal.

  13. Last week I gave my dd Bell and Evans chicken tenders (not gluten-free) the darn boxes are sooo similar. Thankfully my husband caught it before I gave her seconds. I think sometimes I just get relaxed and am not shopping consciously, like driving.
  14. Chicken taco soup served with Tortilla chips, sour cream and guacomole. You can make a big batch in advance and warm it up in crock pot the day of the move. Brownies with ice cream for dessert.
  15. I had to laugh when I saw this but there is a bread in the Market Basket chain called Rudi's gluten free bread. Does anyone know what it tastes like? Is it similar to Udi's or did they just mimic the name for advertising reasons. hahahahaha
  16. In the meantime shop around for the bread . I found a market that specializes in herbal medicine and natural foods that sells all Udi's including the hot dog and hamburg rolls and they have sales about every 2 months. Last month it was $4.25 a loaf. Try looking up all your local markets and call them.
  17. We also were told a whole grain sandwich a day was ample. Our DD was eating about twice that a day when the blood work came back positive. So we were able to reduce it somewhat before the biopsy per GI . I begged for something and she said this was fine.
  18. OOPs looks like Poppi covered most things. I agree with the flowers and brownies and praise, If someone did that for me I would remember it every time I saw their child.
  19. WOW a sleepover camp , I can't even fathom that right now. I would send in a pot , a pan and cookie sheet labeled for gluten-free use only that way you have some assurance of limited cross contamination. If you are sending in pasta send in a colander also. I use Annies gluten-free mac and cheese, target sells it the cheapest around me. Also...
  20. That is a much discussed debate. Can't wait to see the responses.
  21. The getting of the diagnosis is the hard part. We also had 2 years of pedi appt.'s because we were being treated as a diet issue. My DD is overweight and always has been in the 90th percentile with high BMI. So we were instructed to put her on low carb/high fiber and whole grains, more veggies diet ( it took me a year to get her to eat green beans without...
  22. Sorry don't have a specific recipe but Besan flour(chickpea) can be used to make flatbreads. if you google indain recipes you can probably find some. I'll bet you can lighten it up with a little rice flour and use more oil and omit the egg. ANyone try anything like this?
  23. This is a geat suggestion, I have had peppermint meringue cookies and they were fabulous. Don't have a recipe but google it. You can make a meringue tower, like a cupcake tower.
