  1. Steak with Marsala sauce Oven roasted rosemary red potatoes, onions and bell peppers Steamed green beans with garlic
  2. We're having stuffed bell peppers (stuffed with ground turkey and rice and seasoned with Italian spices, baked in the slow cooker).
  3. Thankfully I CAN have nuts, all kinds. I will have to keep that one in mind for next time. I already made my fish. I ended up squeezing an orange over them, splashing some white white on, spraying with olive oil, topping with minced garlic and ginger, fresh ground pepper and kosher salt, then baking in parchement. Turned out pretty good for not...
  4. I wish I could take credit for the rice idea. I ate it in a restaurant once (can't remmember where now) and I've been hooked on it ever since. Glad to be of some help though!
  5. I will definately do it in parchement paper and I was thinking of doing something with citrus. Mushrooms are out because I'm allergic. I like the idea of a pesto-- I had not thought of doing pesto on fish. I make one with spinach and almonds that is great on chicken. I will probably decide at the last minute. Thanks for the ideas!
  6. Alaskan Pollack --haven't decided how to make it yet so any ideas are welcome--otherwise I will probably just bake with some lemon pepper seasoning. Rice with craisins and rosemary Steamed broccoli
  7. Definitely watch the hubby closer. My husband has gluttened me just by eating fast food and then driving my car. When I drove after him then I got glutened. Now he knows the rule is he has to wash his hands after eating gluteny stuff. Fortunately, he doesn't eat it very often anyway because I send most of his lunches from home and we are 100% gluten...
  8. Was planning on burgers (I ended up buying beef today) but hubby had to work late and wasn't in the mood to grill. I didn't feel like cooking so I made some Tinkyada spaghetti and meat sauce with the beef.
  9. Are you keeping a journal of what your eat and your reactions? My gluten reactions usually do not start until 24-48 hours AFTER I get contaminated. The only exception is if I get a large amount (like when I was given regualr pasta instead of gluten-free pasta at a restaurant). In those cases I'm very sick within 20 minutes and usually start throwing up...
  10. I've never had a problem with anything from Enjoy Life. Maybe you are sensitive to chocolate? What are your symptoms?
  11. Thanks for the warning! I haven't bought my meat yet. I was planning on getting it tommorrow morning. I don't know if the recalled brands are in my stores or not but I guess I will go with bison or chicken just to be safe. I'm sure we'll grill year round too now that we have a place we are allowed to grill (before we were in an apt that wouldn't even...
  12. Just saw this comment, so sorry for the late reply. Thanks! The move was a little stressful but it is all over now. Most things are unpacked, a few things are still finding homes. My only snag right now is my dishwasher isn't working. The repair person already came once. At first it didn't work at all--no water was comign out, only steam. After the repair...
  13. We had steaks on our new grill, baked potatoes and steamed broccoli. Simple and yummy! I've missed grilled food!
  14. We're trying to use up everything in the fridge so tonight I had chicken marinaded in Asian chili sauce and cucumbers with roasted red pepper hummus. Hubby had leftover bison taco meat, carmelized onions and bell peppers in a bowl over rice with a broken up tortilla. I cooked up the rest of my boneless skinless chicken breasts in three ways--lemon pepper...
  15. That sounds wonderful! I'm making stir-fried beef and broccoli and mashed poatoes. They don't go together at all but I'm trying to use up the food that is left in my freezer and pantry in preparation for a move.
  16. If you are in the US, Mission brand corn tortillas are gluten-free. They are not tested but they are made on lines used only for corn products. I also sometimes make my own corn tortillas using MaSeCa brand masa harina.
  17. Oh, I really thought he was going hunting!
  18. I love wild game! Venison is great when we can get it. We live in a city and don't hunt but my dad often hunts and gives us some of the deer meat. I didn't feel like do a lot of cooking today so we're having turkey burgers with raw veggies and hummus tonight. Nice and simple.
  19. I'm glad you liked it too! I LOVE Asian food and I'm always trying new recipes. If you like orange chicken you have to try this recipe: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2009/09/slow-cooker-orange-chicken-recipe.html It's my favorite! So good! The only thing I do differently from her recipe is I add lots of red pepper flakes at the end of cooking. I...
  20. This turned out great! It makes A LOT of sweet and sour chicken, however. We've been eating the leftovers for two days. I served mine with steamed broccoli instead of bell peppers. Really any stir fried or steamed veggies and rice would be good with it.
  21. I'm making it tonight. I'll let you know.
  22. I decided to try this sweet and sour chicken recipe to use up some of my canned pineapple: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/sweet-and-sour-chicken-i/detail.aspx I'm using sweet rice flour for the flour and leaving out the orange food coloring (LOL).
  23. Well I decided to do Strawberry Buckwheat pancakes with blueberry maple syrup, turkey bacon and eggs. Looked in the fridge and saw that we had a half package of un-cooked turkey bacon from the weekend and I don't want it to go bad. We also have about 4 dozen eggs so I might as well use those up. The perfect excuse to make Strawberry pancakes. <...
  24. We are in a tiny apartment in the city moving to a townhouse (still in the city but a step up and a better location). We will be allowed to have a grill there and we even bought one already (shh! don't tell my landlord--we didn't buy a propane tank and are keeping it in the box until the move ) since they were on sale for the fourth of July here. I'm very...
