  1. hey, jackson, i was thinking - i have a secondary sensitivity to soy that didn't really 'appear' until i was gluten free. it fooled me in the beginning because it was almost like getting glutened as i will get a headache, D, joint ache, fatigue, etc. but it's not nearly as intense as a true glutening and it only lasts about 24 hrs as opposed to 14 days...
  2. tried this tonight - it was easy and i didn't hate it (although i spread it thinner than the package says and probably baked it longer) i had seconds. it's a little 'sweeter' than i anticipated but i would try it again <ok, y'all i am sooo gonna play with it lolz it's *dough* already made) it contains soy and egg, so i wouldn't eat it every day (soy...

  5. i know, right??!! meanwhile, cockroaches are nudging each other and pointing at me in fear, thinking, "if she can kill mint, she might be worse than a nuclear war...." spreading a little 'arlene awareness' amongst themselves, making safety posters....... goddess of death. has a nice ring to it
  6. yes, i do - i stay away from artificial sweeteners because they make my brain crazy they make me very anxious! i haven't noticed any gut symptoms from them, but then again, i don't eat/drink them (on purpose) - i think the last time i had any, and i recognized the taste of it, was in the juice my church serves for communion. the lady who supplies the...
  7. well, i'm on my way out there, addy, to dispose of .......... the mint! that's right, i have killed mint. who knew it was even possible..... it was behaving in it's pot and it was probably bored to death from not being able to take over other plants. ARCHIVED Terrified

my grandkids love the 'splat' method of dispensing mayo, jelly, etc - they can make as big a mess as they want, "splatting" mayo or whatever onto their plate - as long as they don't double dip, i can't yell about them throwing food lolz all good advice, susan righty-o about the expensive snacks/whatnot - hey. i just paid six bucks for twelve cookies...
  15. i have ever strained stuff with a ziplok freezer bag - put stuff in, poke holes in bag over the sink, let it drain out. not the greatest, unmessiest idea ever, but i am the Queen of Improvise (and i have boxes of ziploks stashed everywhere....... true story........) my kid used to get carsick, but not often enough to give her dramamine every time...
  16. my grandpa, too, had terrible digestive issues. when i was a kid, they lived with us for part of the year and we had one bathroom. i remember waiting and waiting and waiting. he also used bread and crackers as comfort food. and he loved his beer, too. he died of 'cancer of the bowels' - now i am not surprised. he was of english and native american descent...
  17. yep, it's probably your digestive tract adjusting to your new 'normal' - hopefully it will settle down soon. in the beginning, you can have gluten withdrawal, and most of us 'grieve' for our old/"illegal" foods and lifestyle. i'm so sorry you're having such a rough time try not to let the big picture overwhelm you. when it comes to living gluten free...

  19. How will FDA check that food manufacturers labeling their foods gluten-free comply with the requirements of the final rule? The manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that any gluten-free claim it makes on its food labels is truthful, not misleading, and complies with FDA regulations. FDA may use the full range of its routine post-market monitoring activities...
  20. lolz! i must have missed that movie! protein, baby! i don't think i would juice fast until i was healed a little better - once your body adjusts to it's new 'normal' you may find yourself losing weight (i hear alot of people lose water weight, too, once their body is running right) i think of it this way: (because i am a trucker's daughter) you...
