  1. It makes perfect sense to me. When first diagnosed we tried to be a household with gluten products still in the home. But I still had my own toaster, butter, pans, etc....Everytime someone would eat bread, crackers, etc....I kind of freaked out. My doctor did prescribe some anti-anxiety meds, which did help but left me feeling out of it. So after the doctor...
  2. Sending you good thoughts, I hope all goes well for you, and I hope you enjoy your vacation.
  3. This is a new doctor yes, my surgeon recommended him, I was just basically going in for a new patient consultation, no issues just a meeting to let him know that I was there, and I needed a new gastro in case there was issues. My GP sent all his notes saying he was happy with my progress, and I went in feeling great and left feeling very unsure. And...
  4. Dear friends, I am needing some wisdom and advice here. I went to a new gastro doc today, and he prescribed Entocort 9 mg a day. Now here is why I am confused, I was diagnosed in September of 2010 did ok then got sick again in December, after many months of doctor visits and tests, we took all the steps in our home to be completely gluten free, even the...

  6. Today is a good day, today at our local festival I entered my gluten free chocolate cream pie, and you wanna know what.......I took first place!!! I just had to share this with people that understand the frustrations of gluten free baking, finding tricks that work for you, and then success!!! This has been one heck of a journey, and not everyday is this...
  7. Juliette, We are here for you sweet girl. I noticed potatoes are on your diet, I had alot of issues with potatoes, sometimes the starches can be hard to digest. I hate to see you go off of the vitamins, you didn't list B12, that was like a miracle pill for me. I am on the Spring Valley sublingual dots 500 mcg a day, they dissolve under your tongue for...
  8. Sunny, you are not a wimp!!! I know exactly what you are going through, I was diagnosed last September and I still kept on working, with that whole I am "Superwoman" mentality, however my body had other plans, I did have a few sick days when first being diagnosed, then ended up in the hospital in December, when my husband came home and found me on the floor...
  9. When I saw you mention McCain's products I had to reply, my husband works at a local McCain's plant and they have alot of different products made in their plant and some of them have breading. He had told me when I was first diagnosed he would never let me eat McCain's products because of the cross contamination. I just thought this info might help.
  10. Hello friends, Tomorrow I am scheduled for a small bowel capsule endoscopy, I am not scared or anything, just curious if anyone else had this and what was their experience. Thanks so much!!
  11. I will not get into the details, however, I do not recommend Douglas Dahlke in Lincoln. I am not into bashing anyone but just dont want anyone else to go through what I went through. I am actually now looking for a new gastro now myself. I wish you luck.

  15. I was diagnosed with Celiac in September of last year, felt pretty darn good for awhile, then in December started feeling worse then before, after many, many, tests the doctors here could find nothing, they basically told me it was in my head and wrote me off. And then finally we found a good GI doctor about 100 miles away who was willing to listen, he asked...
  16. I just had that test a week ago, no it is not pleasant to drink, but better then the prep for a colonoscopy! I did have some stomach discomfort after, just drink lots of water. On the bright side, no needles and no pain! Wishing you luck with the test!
  17. Ok so after being diagnosed in September I started feeling better on the gluten-free diet. Then for no reason about mid December started feeling bad again, diarrhea, fatigue, abominal pain, dizziness. So went back to the gastro he ran another endo and colonoscopy more blood work, he said he could not find anything, so then off we went to an endocronologist...
  18. Thank you for your advice and support. The idea of the daily log is a wonderful idea and I have started that, sometimes it is hard to remember everything, but my wonderful husband is there to help me. I have also decided that it is time to let them know that I do want copies of these tests results, so I know exactly what is going on instead of the standard...
  19. Hello friends, This will be a long post so please forgive me. I was diagnosed in September of 2010, and since have followed a gluten-free and dairy free diet. It took a few weeks but I really started feeling so good. Then in the beginning of December the diarrhea came back, fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure, and pain on my left side. I found a good...
  20. Hello friend, There will be no tough love from me, because I know exactly how you feel. Eating also frightens me, recently I went to the doctor who said I am doing well on the gluten-free diet but now I have to go to another specialist because I still have the big D, low blood pressure, fatigue, dizziness, and a 70lb weight loss. I did go to the doctor...

Hi friends, Let me start at the beginning, I was diagnosed with Celiac in September of 2010, felt pretty darn good, but then at the beginning of December started feeling bad again, the D was back with a vengeance, pain, dizziness, more weight loss. I ended up in hospital after my husband came home from work and found me on the floor passed out. I was...
  22. It was pretty good here, my roller coaster of emotions hasn't calmed quite yet, but my family is awesome!!! Thanksgiving and Christmas were at my Dad's and he is wonderful about my diet, he made roast beef for me and made sure no one touched anything until I got my plate. Your right the dessert part is tough, oh how I miss those wonderful sugar cookies...

ARCHIVED Is It In My Head?

Sounds so familiar....been there done that. You are not crazy, my advice is to find a good GI doctor in your area, I had to go to many doctors before they diagnosed me. Let's see they told me stress, depression, eating disorder, because of the weight loss. Don't give up help is out there, and this forum is a wonderful place, with caring people who know...
